The female supporting character, yet a charmer to everyone

Chapter 22 - Post-apocalyptic Literature 03

The person who makes the male lead hold on to him later is supposed to be someone who loves him deeply at the moment.

What’s wrong with a kiss?

And he was a good-looking, clean-cut guy.

Sheng Lang felt his lips meet his own when he touched them. This makes her feel an incredible joy that she has never felt before.

Time is like running water, passing very quickly.

Lately, the news has been talking about strange weather and strange things happening in different places, as if they are trying to tell us something.

Yu Huan had known that the zombies would soon break out.

Although the plot required her to be infected into a zombie, she had a little thought of her own.

She knew that turning into a zombie was possible at any moment.

She found a place to hide, and if the zombie siege was triggered the next day, she would let the zombies bite.

Who would want to become a stinky zombie and live like a walking corpse for three months?

Yu Huan, who knows the plot, is ready to go out and stock up on food.

From the window, Sheng Lang saw the girl in the jeans and trousers with a happy pace going out, and knew that she was going out to look for good food.

Should I follow her?

He hesitated for a moment and glanced at the book he had been reading last night: ‘Being too needy will only make her seem desperate to you’.

To make their relationship last, he thought it was time to give her some space.

He grabbed a few extra packs of instant noodles, marinated eggs for an extra meal to stop hunger, and two bags of marinated chicken thighs.

Yu Huan was so busy thinking about the food she would need for the end of the world that she didn’t notice a startled cry in the distance.

The cashier quickly went out of the door.

After a moment of panic, it was completely quiet. Maybe there had been an argument at the checkout. Yu Huan thought.

Spicy beef jerky.

Mum likes this, so if she doesn’t turn into a zombie so soon and is still staying with her, she can take this to her mother.

She bent down and reached for the beef jerky that was under the shelf.

She heard a loud noise behind her and the sound of ‘ho-ho-ho’.

She didn’t have time to turn around, but her shoulder hurt. She felt a sudden numbness spread through her body.

A thin body quietly fainted under the shelves, unnoticed.

At that moment, Sheng Lang was sitting in front of his desk, watching a video to learn how to make his girlfriend like him more.

Jiang’s mother was chattering away, talking about how she likes junk food, but she was also making her favourite pea and meat soup.

Jiang’s father has just fixed the broken door locks and is waiting for his daughter to come back and praise him.

But it seems that she can’t come back.

How could Yu Huan not expect that she was hit even before the zombie outbreak? It’s no wonder she was chosen as a target in the script; her fate was already decided by fate.

This feeling of being dizzy will last for a long time.

During this time, the news of the zombie outbreak was all over the news, and everyone was talking about it. The alarms in different regions sounded repeatedly.

The Sheng and Jiang families were worried sick and refused to leave when the evacuation deadline was reached.

When she opened her eyes again, Yu Huan sensed that she seemed to be no longer human.

She felt sluggish and couldn’t speak.

She struggled to find a mirror in the mall, and saw that her skin was as white as a dead person, and her lips were bloodless. She was relieved.

She was also glad that she could still talk to the system in her mind and not feel lonely.

‘Well done, host. You can get to the end of the mission soon!’ The system said.

‘The male lead and the others have gone to City B. The defences there are strong, but it’s not far from here. It will only take ten days to get there if you walk.’ Yu Huan thought about it.

‘Then I’ll stay here for a few more days before I go over there.’

Anyway, this place had already fallen and become an empty city with only zombies. The zombies couldn’t hurt her, but it was the humans who might kill her.

While talking to the system, Yu Huan took a packet of dried mango, tore it open, picked a piece and put it in her mouth, slowly chewing.

The process was extremely torturous, yet she didn’t feel long.

In theory, zombies did not need to eat. But Yu Huan was just greedy.

A middle-aged male zombie was walking in a straight line towards her. Yu Huan moved out of his way and greeted him, ‘Uncle Beard, hello.’

The ‘bearded uncle’ was very rude and walked straight past him.

This made her angry, and she decided to stop being polite and call him ‘Bearded’ behind his back.

When she was bored, she joined the zombie parade and played the role of a walking zombie. When she passed by the mirror, she stopped and posed in front of it, wondering how to take a cooler picture.

I thought the days could go on like this, waiting for the male lead to be shot, but who knew that this day, the mall came.

At dawn, Yu Huan, who was strutting on the cashier’s desk and sleeping, was woken up by the crackling sound of firecrackers.

The noise grew louder and louder, mixed with the sound of footsteps, the sound of zombies ‘ho ho ho’, and the sound of bodies falling to the ground.

Yu Huan opened his eyes.

What firecrackers.

I’m afraid it’s not gunfire!

She looked inside the mall and saw a group of zombies lying on the ground. Some of them had bullet holes in their chests.

She got up quickly and ran as fast as a zombie could go, hiding under the cashier’s counter.

She had chosen this place on purpose, because she was afraid that a zombie might step on her when she fell asleep. I didn’t expect it to have this use.

But I must not die.

She was on a mission, and she hadn’t finished it yet.

Yu Huan hugged her legs tightly.

A pair of straight legs wearing boots appeared in front of the cash register.

The man was about to take a chewing gum to help him stop smoking, swept the empty cash register, and suddenly hummed and laughed.

‘What’s up, boss?’ The subordinate sniffed and looked over.

‘I missed one.’

The man’s tone was lazy, gum biting in his mouth, and he carelessly gave the order, ‘Look for it.’

The zombies that had appeared in the mall had been killed, and none of them had been hurt, so they really didn’t need to worry.

This leaky fish was only temporarily escaping because it was lying here and was mistakenly thought to be dead by them.

Under the cash register, Yu Huan was shivering, her eyebrows and eyes wrinkled into a ball, almost forgetting how to breathe.

The gold bracelet on her wrist and the bells on it were also shaking.

The sound was not loud, but it was clear.

Startled, Yu Huan hastily covered the bracelet, relieved that they hadn’t heard the noise.

Suddenly, the man with the tall figure and dangerous temperament raised his hand, and his subordinates, who were about to look around, stopped immediately, waiting for instructions.

‘Stop looking.’ He said, not caring.

Was he going to let her off the hook?

Yu Huan quickly focused her attention and listened intently.

But then he just stopped talking, and she felt a hand on her neck.

A zombie was caught under the cash register.

The guns of his subordinates were pointed at her.

Lu Mingzhang stopped them once again, looked at the small zombie, who didn’t dare to move, and said, a bit disgusted with her appearance: ‘She has consciousness.’

Usually, zombies will rush out to bite people when they smell them, regardless of whether they have weapons or not.

This one was different. It pretended to be dead, then hid, as if it was timid.

‘Conscious?’

‘A zombie can still have consciousness?’

The subordinates surrounded it.
