Yang Ruxin glanced at Du Juan, who silently slipped into the crowd of onlookers, edging close to the two people causing the most commotion.
"Closing down… But we've only just opened for business…" Yang Ruxin smacked her lips, her face full of difficulty. After a moment of silence, she turned to the surrounding crowd. "Everyone here must be regulars, right?"
Many people nodded in agreement.
"What do you all think of my hotpot? Just be honest, that's all I ask."
The people around hesitated, but a few of them nodded. "To be honest, the hotpot tastes really good, better than any dishes from other restaurants. But… If it's really not hygienic…" They shrugged, looking conflicted.
Others in the crowd nodded as well. "If this place truly shuts down, it'd be such a shame."
Yang Ruxin nodded. "Thank you for your honest feedback. We'll revisit this matter shortly." Then she looked toward the troublemakers. "You two claim you spotted cockroaches midway through your meal?"
"Of course, why else would we feel so disgusted?" The chubby man nodded, his eyes brazenly scanning Yang Ruxin from head to toe, thinking to himself that he must find an opportunity to have this young lady by his side to taste her charm.
"So, did you finish eating?" Yang Ruxin smiled and looked at one of the men, who had a clean and handsome appearance.
The man stared blankly at Yang Ruxin, then nodded. "I ate my fill."
The tall man beside him quickly nudged the handsome man.
The handsome man snapped out of his daze and his face turned red. "Ate my fill? I was disgusted to the point of being full!" He quickly stepped back, looking a bit flustered.
The surrounding onlookers weren't all fools. At this point, some started piecing things together, and their discussions began to shift.
"Speak up, who sent you two to sabotage me?" Yang Ruxin suddenly slammed the table. She couldn't use her Mind Technique too obviously in such a large crowd, but that brief moment earlier was enough to expose the truth.
"Sabotage? Us? You… Agh…" The chubby man was startled and jumped up, but before he could finish his sentence, Miao Jian rushed forward, grabbed him, and threw him to the ground.
The chubby man nearly had the wind knocked out of him and lay on the ground, rolling his eyes.
"You dare assault people? Lawlessness!" The skinny man saw things turning bad and jumped to his feet as he shouted, "You're just a bunch of crooked merchants…"
"Crooked merchants?" Yu Qingge suddenly raised her hand and slapped him hard across the face. "Can you even talk properly?"
"You little wench! Who do you think you… Agh…" The skinny man barely got his insult out before someone slapped him again.
Xuxu's slap carried significantly more force than Yu Qingge's, spinning the skinny man in a full circle before he crashed to the ground.
"Oh no, this is outrageous! The people at Xinxin Hotpot Restaurant are unreasonable! Cockroaches in the soup, and now they're beating people up!" The skinny man threw himself on the floor, rolling around dramatically.
Long Qia stepped forward, grabbed him, and directly pressed on his mute acupoint.
Just then, shouts echoed from outside. A group of government officers approached, led by none other than Arrest Officer Xie Zhanfei.
"Someone reported a disturbance here. What's going on?" Xie Zhanfei entered with his hand resting on his sword.
"Officer, I run my business by the book. I don't know whose interests I've affected for them to come up with such a vicious scheme to frame us." Yang Ruxin slightly nodded toward Xie Zhanfei. "They finished eating and afterward put cockroaches in the hotpot soup…"
