Chapter 1635: Agreed (6)
Yang Ruxin didn't refuse Shen Wanyin. Truthfully, if she didn't have to worry about Gu Qingheng being jealous, she would've long found an opportunity to visit Shen Wenbi. After all, this was the first time using that medicine, and the old man Dao Xuzi had even asked her about its efficacy. Since she didn't witness the results firsthand, naturally, she didn't know.
Now that such a rightful opportunity presented itself, she wasn't about to let it slip by.
Shen Wanyin saw Yang Ruxin nod, and instantly became ecstatic.
"However, Master Shen, although I am Dao Xuzi's apprentice, I'm still quite inexperienced in my skills, so I can't guarantee a miraculous cure. In case…"
"That's alright. As long as the Divine Doctor is willing to act, the Shen Family will be forever grateful," Shen Wanyin quickly bowed in gratitude. "By the way, when would the Divine Doctor be available?"
"Tomorrow," Yang Ruxin replied with a smile.
"Then tomorrow, I'll send someone to pick up the Divine Doctor."
"No need." Yang Ruxin shook her head. "Tomorrow, I'll head there myself. I know where the Shen Family mansion is. Just don't have anyone block me at the gates when I arrive."
"Of course not," Shen Wanyin quickly shook his head. "I'll personally wait at the entrance to welcome you."
"Elder Sister, are you really going to treat that Shen Family's people?" After Shen Wanyin left, Sanni glanced at the four large boxes of gifts and frowned.
Ever since the family's financial situation improved, Yang Ruxin had never neglected her younger siblings. The household was filled with good things, even items from the palace. So while the Shen Family's gifts were indeed valuable, they couldn't particularly surprise Sanni.
"Yes." Yang Ruxin nodded. "Since they've gone all out, how could I justify refusing?" She gestured towards Sanni. "Go call your second sister and the others over, let them pick out whatever they like… Once they're done, we'll head to the Hot Spring Manor…"
"Alright then," Sanni nodded. She knew her elder sister had a good sense of judgment, so she didn't worry further and ran out.
However, it only took the blink of an eye before she ran back again: "Elder Sister, the caravan has returned…" The trip to the Hot Spring Manor would have to be postponed, but there'd be opportunities in the future. For now, the immediate matters were more urgent.
Yang Ruxin's eyes lit up upon hearing this. She estimated that these past several days must've brought it close to returning; she hadn't expected it would happen today. This meant everyone could spend a peaceful New Year at home.
The returning caravan was the one headed south, which Yang Zhenli had led.
"Eighth Uncle," Yang Ruxin hurried out.
"Haha, Xinxin, we're back!" Yang Zhenli, who walked at the head of the group, appeared travel-worn but brimming with energy. Upon seeing Yang Ruxin coming out to greet them, he hurriedly raised his arm in a wave and laughed.
"It must've been tough for you." Yang Ruxin smiled and nodded, instructing Du Chengxiu to lead a team to check and store the goods brought back. She settled the workers' wages and gave them each a share of pre-prepared New Year's gifts before letting everyone disperse.
The team had been gone for over three months; everyone was surely eager to return home.
However, Jiang Zhen remained behind.
"Young Madam," Jiang Zhen handed a notebook to Yang Ruxin. "This contains details about the places we passed through and an overview of the power dynamics we could investigate."
Yang Ruxin immediately opened it and flipped through it roughly, her eyes lighting up: "This is fantastic! You've worked hard." Although it wasn't yet complete or highly detailed, this information could be gradually refined. In time, it would become an exceptionally important intelligence asset.
