The First Prince of Hell is Human?

Chapter 14: Mr. Greyfur

The first day of school ended in what many referred to as a pleasant surprise. Watching a bully get knocked out by a fresher was the last thing everyone expected to see at the start of the academy session.

Since there were hundreds of eyewitnesses who saw Biggie putting his hands on Leo first before the knockout slap. He was suspended for a week, while Leo was forced to head back home early.

However, this only improved his popularity and spread the story across town. Mr. Anderson could only wear a frustrated look while driving Leo back home, but what annoyed him the most was that Leo seemed more distracted than ever.

He was always looking into the distance like he could see something others couldn't and Anderson had caught him nodding or shaking his head to himself.

This odd behavior only started after the day he left home without his ring.

The next day, Leo returned to the academy as the hottest topic in school—the human who claimed he would become a night prefect and also knocked out a senior-year student.

While picking up a few notebooks from his locker, Leo noticed people stealing glances his way, but he paid little to no attention to them.

Flanked by Felix and Susan, they walked into the classroom, only to meet a new face. A 6' 5'' gray-haired man in a gray suit and a neatly trimmed beard.

His baggy suit failed to hide his muscular frame, and Leo was quick to notice a couple of scars on him—the throat scar made Leo wonder what sort of situation the man found himself in to get that kind of wound.

However, thinking about his fight with Isaiah, the scar didn't look that special. Leo noticed the name and the topic written on the board while heading to his seat—Humanity & the supernatural; two sides of a coin & Mr Greyfur.

Settling into his seat, Leo glared at the board with knitted eyebrows. Dami waved with a cute smile but was completely ignored. She could see the hostility in his eyes directed at Mr. Greyfur and this made her wonder if they had prior beef before this class.

"I knew this topic would offend a few of you…." Mr Greyfur shot Leo a glare and continued.

"However, this is an institution of learning…. If you knew everything, you wouldn't be here." Mr. Greyfur's gaze returned to Leo. "Now, let me ask. Why do you think the civil war ended?"

Before anyone could react, a hand flung into the air with an exaggerated swing. Mr. Greyfur nodded and a petite pale-skinned girl dressed in a sleeveless jean blouse and shorts. Long black hair cascaded down her shoulders, and the innocent look on her face was ruined by the vicious grin that flashed in Leo's direction.

"The war ended because a bunch of humans was slaughtered like pigs on September 1st, 1907. I guess that was all the brave humans in the country, so they surrendered." Lily Thorne said with a sinister smile on her face.

Over seventy percent of the students burst into hysterical laughter, some genuine and a lot forced. Leo could see a good deal of forced laughter amongst humans, but he wasn't disappointed this time because he stopped expecting much from them.

His conversation with Azakar a day ago changed his perspective of humans. Leo had to accept that humans were naturally weaker than supernatural beings, and that's why he was different.

Humanity's savior must be the greatest of all humans.

"If you build an army of a hundred lions led by a dog, the lions will die like dogs, but if you build an army of one hundred dogs led by a lion, the dogs will fight like lions." Azakar quoted a famous human from another earth.

Lily turned again to see Leo's negative reaction to her words, but to her surprise, he was calm and indifferent.

"That's rich coming from someone whose lineage was nearly wiped out by humans. That reminds me, I haven't seen Isaiah lately, what happened?"

Buzz!

The entire classroom felt silent and shocked looks were exchanged. Dami glared at Leo from the sidelines like she was meeting him for the first time.

The old Leo wasn't this provocative and ruthless—he mostly ignored everyone when humans were insulted.

"BASTARD!"

Lily's eyes turned a strong shade of red, while her nails grew into claws. However, Leo remained unfazed—he stayed seated with his arm crossed around his chest and an eyebrow raised.

"The rabid dog barks again. Come, let me send you to a place where you can be reunited with your brother." Leo leaned in, and his eyes revealed a threatening glow.

"ENOUGH!"

Lily was about to pounce when Mr. Greyfur's words froze her in her tracks. Her murderous gaze lingered on Leo's chuckling figure for a while before she returned to her seat.

The exchange had ended, but the tension in the class still lingered. Eyes were on Leo, some filled with worry, some pity but much hatred. Making jokes against other races was unacceptable, especially when it had to do with death.

Many people have played this game, and they all went missing. That's how humans in this town were tamed.

That was why Leo decided to take the same approach. He would give them a taste of their own medicine and suppress them till they lose their voices before they lose their lives.

If any of them was bold enough to come at him, he would make another 'Isaiah' out of them. Cruelty must be met with cruelty, humanity has suffered enough—it was their turn to pay.

"It is disingenuous for anyone to say humanity lost. If they really lost, what stops us from wiping them out and taking this country for ourselves…. Think about it."

Mr. Greyfur's words pulled Leo out of his reverie and snatched his attention. He looked up in shock at the man's words, unsure how to take this.

The usual narrative pushed out by every supernatural being is they humans lost—this was his first time seeing a werewolf with a different take.
