The Game Merchant Who Started from the Ninja World

Chapter 33: Chapter 33: Soul-Reaping Trial Grounds

Chapter 33: Soul-Reaping Trial Grounds

"No one can see me…"

Nami squinted her eyes, whispering to herself.

She was still young and had no desire to die for no reason. She planned to wait for a fight to break out and then slip away in the chaos.

But after a long wait, no fighting broke out as expected.

Her eyes shifted slightly—only to lock gazes with Fang Yi.

Startled, she froze.

Fang Yi remained silent for a while, making Otrluk regret his earlier recklessness. If they had angered this mysterious giant, what then?

The Black Cat Pirates were equally on edge.

Finally, Fang Yi withdrew his gaze and addressed the group: "I am a game merchant from another world. I've invited you to participate in the Reincarnation Game. If you're not interested, you may leave at any time."

With a wave of his hand,

every person present—nobles, pirates, laborers, merchants, even chained slaves—

saw a translucent panel appear before them.

Black text flowed across it, and even illiterate slaves understood it as if the information was planted directly into their minds.

Hunt corrupted monsters. Earn reward points. Use those points to buy anything from the shop…

After reading the panel, everyone's expression changed dramatically.

"No way… I can even become a Celestial Dragon?!"

"Absurd! Even Gol D. Roger's treasure seems more believable than this!"

"Devil Fruits, legendary swords, swordmaster techniques, Marine combat arts…"

Fang Yi had tailored the shop's items to the Pirate World to make it easier for them to understand.

The slaves were mostly confused, but the pirates and nobles were visibly shaken.

The pirates saw the value in Devil Fruits and the skills of famous warriors.

The nobles, however, were stunned by one line in particular.

"You can even… exchange for Celestial Dragon bloodline?!"

As nobles, they knew all too well what that meant—total freedom across the seas, command over even the Marine Headquarters, and the power to invoke a Buster Call and destroy an island.

"This is insane. Even the Giants wouldn't dare insult the Celestial Dragons like this. Isn't he afraid of being annihilated?"

Otrluk believed this mysterious giant must be a complete madman.

Was he not afraid of the Marine Admirals?

As for whether it was real, Otrluk didn't believe it.

Everyone knew the Celestial Dragons were the descendants of the world's creators—nineteen families living in Mary Geoise.

Each Celestial Dragon underwent strict background checks and identity verification. Faking it was impossible.

Nami felt the same.

She thought, "Navigation skills, high-tech warships, abilities that let you sense the sea's rhythm… all of it sounds like a fairy tale by Mont Blanc Noland."

Also—

Ten thousand berries for one reward point?

She didn't know this giant's name, but if she had to give him one, she wouldn't hesitate to call him greedy.

Asking her for money? Might as well kill her.

Most players didn't believe a word of it.

But a few, half-doubting, decided to try exchanging something.

"It's real! My arm… it grew back!"

A pirate cried out in shock, drawing everyone's attention.

He was a low-ranking member of the Black Cat Pirates. He had no treasure, so he traded away a minor sword skill the game shop labeled as "low-tier," worth 15 reward points.

He didn't have many options, so he bought a life-recovery potion. After drinking it, the arm he had lost in battle grew back before everyone's eyes.

That alone made everyone's hearts race.

Limb regeneration.

In worlds with healing powers, this wasn't unusual.

But the Pirate World's tech tree was bizarre—there were high-tech mechs rivaling billion-berry pirates, yet no science for limb regrowth.

Even powerful figures like Red-Haired Shanks and Whitebeard either lived with one arm or clung to life with medicine.

Fang Yi had a theory—it might be related to Haki.

The stronger a person's Armament Haki, the stronger their body.

Which was why people in the Pirate World were basically walking tanks.

But that also meant their bodies were harder to heal, and diseases or injuries were harder to treat.

"A mid-grade healing potion costs 10 reward points. In the Shinobi World, it can save a Chūnin from the brink of death."

"And now, it works just as well on a low-level pirate like Palu?"

Know this—Palu was cannon fodder. A real Chūnin, even from a minor village, could defeat him easily.

The power gap was enormous.

Fang Yi locked onto a player and studied their stats panel.

Two seconds later, he nodded to himself.

"That explains it…"

In the Pirate World, each point of Constitution gave 20 HP.

In the Shinobi World, it only gave 10.

Meanwhile, in terms of Agility—

Pirate characters gained 3 movement speed and 5 reaction time per point.

Ninja gained double that.

Even though both were human, the world differences made the two types fundamentally different.

Pirate players were tanks—high HP, high defense.

Ninja players were assassins—high attack, high speed.

Fang Yi's lips curled into a grin.

"That means combat here won't be over in seconds like in the Shinobi World. It'll be wars of attrition."

And wars of attrition?

They burn through mana potions, health potions, and stamina potions.

Just like Luffy vs. Rob Lucci on Enies Lobby—

by the end, it all came down to stamina and endurance.

Even though Lucci had Life Return, a Zoan-type couldn't match the mythical Sun God. He lost.

But what if Lucci had stocked up on red and blue potions and just brute-forced it?

Luffy would've gone down.

Don't want to lose?

Easy!

The game shop is always open. You want to win? Buy more potions.

Most battles would come down to who had the deeper potion stash.

"Ah Fu, increase all potion prices in the Pirate World shop by 40%."

"Yes, Master."

Behind him, the silver-haired loli shivered at Fang Yi's devious smile.

Her master was a walking bucket of schemes.

Thank goodness she was there—kind-hearted and pure—to pray for him daily.

Hands clasped together, she mimicked the rituals from faith-rich worlds, praying to the cosmic consciousness.

"Great Universal Will, please bless my master. Don't let him be cursed into hell by the players."

"Lucky ones, you are the first players of the Reincarnation Game."

Seeing that most players now believed in the game's authenticity, Fang Yi opened his arms and smiled.

"Now, you'll enter the beginner trial."

"There are five hundred corrupted monsters hidden in this trial field, along with buried rewards. The top twenty scorers will receive a starter gift pack."

"Go. Only your own hands can grasp your destiny."
