The Gamer who traveled to Honkai: Star Rail

Chapter 317: Chapter 316: World Quest - Eradicate the Denizens of Abundance and Antimatter Legion

Since he was going to play, Pei Guang thought it might as well be done properly. Now that the farming and homestead system had been unlocked, he decided to gather some manpower to develop basic technology and other necessities.

With that thought in mind, he began pondering where he could recruit people. Unlike regular computer games where the system assigns as many workers as needed, in this world, he had to figure everything out on his own.

Every feature had to be explored, and every population group needed to be recruited manually. Fortunately, Pei Guang already had a plan.

The talent pool in Belobog seemed like a good place to start—he could probably persuade a decent number of people to move, considering the high level of goodwill he had there. Even if not a whole star system, at least a well-established planet seemed feasible.

As for the Xianzhou, he wasn't entirely sure, but since his goodwill there was also quite strong, he figured he could try asking for assistance and see how it went.

With this plan in mind, Pei Guang prepared to act. Along with Stelle and March 7th, he returned to Xianzhou.

Since Jing Yuan was still in slumber, he headed to the Divination Commission and sought out Fu Xuan.

With Welt's assistance, most of the Disciples of Sanctus Medicus on the Xianzhou had either been captured or eliminated: those who needed saving were rescued, and those who deserved to be dealt with were removed.

For now, Fu Xuan, acting as the interim general, had successfully restored order to the Xianzhou using the Divination Matrix and other arrangements. She finally had a rare moment to relax.

"Phew…"

Fu Xuan leaned against the railing, gazing at the starlit sky and taking a deep breath.

Today was supposed to be a special day for the Xianzhou, a time to gather with family and friends, drink wine, and watch the stars while lighting lanterns and making wishes for the next six months.

But with the chaos caused by the Lord Ravager and the followers of the Abundance, the entire Luofu was under martial law, and there was no festive atmosphere to be found.

"Ah, soon, soon… The Luofu will finally return to peace. But how long will this peace last?"

She couldn't help but recall the great war decades ago. During that battle with the Abundance, the Luofu had nearly been destroyed. It was only thanks to the timely intervention of the Arbiter-General, who obliterated the enemy forces in an instant, that the Luofu was saved.

Reflecting on this current crisis, Fu Xuan realized that without Pei Guang and his companions, the Lord Ravager, empowered by the forces of both Destruction and Abundance, could have plunged the Luofu into devastation.

Her divination for the Xianzhou before all this had predicted grave misfortune. Jing Yuan's ominous farewell only deepened her unease. But, thanks to the Trailblazers' assistance, the Xianzhou survived this ordeal unscathed.

Today's festival could still proceed as planned. Within a few hours, the restrictions on the various abodes would be lifted. By nightfall, the people of Xianzhou would be able to celebrate this special day properly.

However, what troubled Fu Xuan was that whenever she tried to divine events involving Pei Guang, her results were baffling.

Instead of clear answers, the Divination Matrix and her clairvoyant insight would respond with vague prompts like: "Do nothing."

Or, when she attempted to divine fortune or misfortune: "What do you think?"

In contrast, events unrelated to Pei Guang followed normal divination results.

Now that the Xianzhou was at peace and Pei Guang was off adventuring somewhere, she decided to divine the future of the Luofu.

But as soon as she performed the divination, the Divination Matrix responded again with: "What do you think?"

"What do I think?"

Fu Xuan was taken aback. She had only been trying to divine Xianzhou's fate, yet the answer turned the question back to her.

Feeling slightly annoyed, she mulled over Pei Guang's often-casual words.

Leaning on the railing, her gaze wandered to the Divination Matrix's foundation. Memories of Pei Guang rambling and speculating in this very place resurfaced. His seemingly nonsensical musings had often come true.

"Could this 'What do you think?' mean I need to speculate?"

With that thought, Fu Xuan began to muse.

"Well, I think the Xianzhou Alliance will prosper, that it will destroy all the Abominations of Abundance and eradicate the Antimatter Legion!"

Her musings grew bolder: previously, her divinations only sought clarity on fortune or calamity. But this time, she let herself dream big. Still, she wondered how many years it would take to achieve such a vision. Would she live long enough to see the Xianzhou Alliance achieve a true, decisive victory?

Though Xianzhou was known for its frequent victories, Fu Xuan knew that the alliance wasn't as invincible as it appeared. The idea of completely eradicating the Abundance's remnants was an arduous task far from reality.

But Fu Xuan herself, like many key figures in Xianzhou, held an unwavering belief. Those who served in such critical roles carried absolute faith that the Xianzhou would one day triumph over the Abundance and bring justice to the cosmos.

"Hahaha… I wonder if I'll live to see that day…"

Fu Xuan was lost in her thoughts, imagining an almost impossible future. For centuries, the Xianzhou Alliance had been chasing after the nefarious Abundance followers, but even with Pei Guang's coffee potentially extending her life by another century or more, she felt certain that not even another millennium would be enough to see that day come to pass.

Still, the thought of it filled her with a sense of reluctance. She truly wished to witness the complete eradication of the Abundance followers and the Antimatter Legion, and to see the day when the universe would finally be at peace—free and harmonious.

Just then, a familiar voice interrupted her thoughts.

"Whoa, what's with that gigantic exclamation mark? Since I started this game, I've never seen one this big! Golden, glowing, and massive—long-term quest? Legendary quest? Epic quest? Or maybe… a world quest?!"

Hearing the voice, Fu Xuan instinctively turned around, only to find Pei Guang, Stelle, and March 7th staring wide-eyed at her, their gazes locked on something above her head.

"Is there something on my head?" Fu Xuan muttered, glancing upward. However, the enormous exclamation mark hovering above her moved playfully as she tilted her head. Despite her efforts, she couldn't see it herself.

March 7th, curious, observed the scene closely. "This isn't some visual effect you set up, is it? She can't see it?"

Pei Guang crossed his arms confidently. "That's a quest marker! Fu Xuan must have something really important for us to do!"

Stelle tilted her head. "But wait, if that's true, why didn't the quests we took earlier have such a huge exclamation mark?"

Pei Guang rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Maybe this quest is special? Like some super massive chain quest. The kind that needs to grab your attention so you don't miss it? Doesn't matter, though—this is definitely a quest marker. Let me take a closer look!"

Stepping up to Fu Xuan, Pei Guang examined the glowing exclamation mark. As he approached it, a system notification appeared before him.

World Quest: Eradicate the Denizens of Abundance and Antimatter Legion.

Quest Description: Acting General Fu Xuan of the Xianzhou Luofu hopes to eliminate all Denizens of Abundance and the Antimatter Legion. Subdue or destroy the Aeons of Abundance and Destruction.

Without hesitation, Pei Guang accepted the quest. As soon as he did, the golden exclamation mark above Fu Xuan disappeared. In his system's task list, a new quest appeared, marked with a shimmering golden icon—the first of its kind.
