The Genjutsu Devil of Konoha

Chapter 13: Studying (13)

"Match Two: Seijuro Kurama vs. Kaito Uchiha."

He would analyze his opponent from head to toe. The boy was giving heavy young master vibes.

Seijuro analyzed the boy in detail: the calluses on his arm, the way he walked, the way he breathed.

The boy seemed nervous. Odd. His arrogance seemed almost gone, as if he were nervous around Seijuro.

The boy's nervousness would vanish.

"I will show you... the might of the Uchiha Clan!"

"Please be gentle with me," Seijuro would say softly. He was giving off this whole gentle vibe, while in fact, as things stood, he was the highest-ranking student in the class.

He was the highest-ranking by a long, long shot.

Second place was probably like... Mikoto. Hm. Speaking of which, chances were high he'd face her in the final.

No bother. This was simply a mild annoyance in the grand scheme of things.

Though, he did want to see what the Uchiha Clan had given birth to for this generation.

Hm. He would look at his opponent.

"Make the sign of confrontation," Renji's voice could be heard saying.

Both Seijuro and Kaito would begin making the seal for confrontation.

"Hajime."

As those words came, Seijuro would observe Kaito. The boy rushed at him—near instantly. Hm. That wasn't his style.

Something was off.

Throwing a punch, Seijuro would parry the blow with his left hand, move his head back to avoid a kick. He watched as Kaito lowered his center of gravity close to the ground, performing a leg sweep.

Seijuro jumped over the attack, and while in the air, launched a kick of his own.

Kaito blocked the blow, a grin on his face.

Seijuro pushed Kaito's leg away, rushing toward him once more. Kick—blocked. Punch—dodged. Axe kick—evaded. Seijuro even had to jump over him at some point.

He looked at the boy's face. He was getting increasingly more agitated the more he realized his moves weren't landing—and that his target was, in fact, not even affected in the slightest by his blows.

"Stop running and fight me like a man!" Kaito would roar out, running toward Seijuro. Seijuro didn't care about that.

He studied the boy.

As Kaito came at him with a kick, Seijuro would parry it before—

He delivered a roundhouse kick straight to his neck. To be more exact, his blow landed on the vagus nerve—for those unaware, that's a nerve which runs down the side of the neck.

A well-placed strike to this nerve can cause a temporary drop in blood pressure and heart rate, leading to a brief loss of consciousness.

Which is exactly what happened.

Kaito was slumped on the floor.

"Kaito Uchiha is unable to fight... winner is Seijuro Kurama."

Seijuro would walk toward Kaito, getting down to the boy's level. He helped him stand.

"That was a great fight. I wish I had Kaito-san's speed."

He wasn't trying to hurt anyone's pride here.

The boy seemed still in a daze—he had to be sent to the infirmary.

Next was Minato's fight. Seijuro did watch it. Something Seijuro noticed—Minato's reaction speed.

It was very fast. As in, he could react to stuff happening all around him faster than he should have. He had Genin-level reaction speed as an Academy student.

So he could, in fact, react to Genin moves while being a regular student. Seijuro didn't give him the "academy student" title because, well... they weren't even academy students yet.

Seijuro would watch Minato fight. Hm. Could be fun to mess with him later.

Oh, if anyone was interested—Minato won that fight.

Next up was—

"Match Four: Hizashi Hyuga vs. Sadao Inuzuka."

Welp, Seijuro had his full focus on. He wanted to see the Gentle Fist. He wanted to integrate it into his fighting style somehow in the future.

Being able to stun his opponent for a bit was really pretty fun. The Byakugan had potential for so much more—if they could stop chakra like this.

At full potential, any jutsu could be negated by a Hyuga Clan member with enough control.

Though he doubted that they could rival the Sharingan—well, unless they had a secret evolution he was unaware of.

Hm. Since he didn't know much either way, it didn't matter.

If he remembered correctly, Byakugan users possess the remarkable ability to see everything around them—behind, above, beside, and even underneath—providing them with a full 360-degree field of vision.

This skill proves to be especially useful in combat, as it enables users to detect surprise attacks.

Additionally, the Byakugan allows them to see through solid objects, functioning similarly to x-ray vision, but with the distinct capability of clearly viewing the chakra pathways inside the human body.

This ability is fundamental to the Hyuga Clan's Gentle Fist technique.

Unlike the Sharingan, which can be awakened at some point during a user's life, anyone who inherits the Byakugan is born with it, and the Byakugan is always visibly present.

Hm... He would watch how this fight unfolded.

And...the hyuga brother won.
