The girl who waited

Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Fading into Shadows

The days passed, but she hardly noticed. The cheerful girl who once laughed at the smallest things now found no reason to smile. The warmth of friendships and family that once surrounded her had slowly faded, leaving behind only silence.

At first, she thought it was just a phase—maybe people were busy, maybe they would notice her absence. But they didn't. No one asked why she wasn't laughing anymore, why she stopped joining conversations, or why she preferred to stay in her room.

Her world became quieter, the walls of her room feeling like both a shield and a prison. The only company she had was the sound of raindrops tapping against her window. She would sit there for hours, watching the world outside move on without her.

She wanted to reach out, to tell someone how she felt, but every time she opened her mouth, the words wouldn't come. What if they didn't care? What if they only listened out of pity? The fear of being a burden kept her silent.

And so, day by day, she faded—her presence unnoticed, her voice unheard, her heart growing colder.

But was anyone paying attention? Would anyone ever see the girl who was slowly disappearing into the shadows?
