The Golem Mage

Chapter 655: Quasi Lord.

Almost instantly, as Legion eliminated the Rhino demonic beast, Alec heard the system notification and assumed it must have been triggered by Legion's action.

However, he soon felt a cold chill creeping over him, which caused him to look down at the tree he was perched on; and he noticed that the ground beneath it was lightly covered in frost.

"No way, this can't still be about Legion," Alec muttered as he turned his gaze toward the second battlefield, which they had all overlooked while watching Legion.

While doing this, Alec pulled up his system notifications to check what had prompted the alert.

[> Titan's Ice Manipulation has finally completed its evolution.]

[> Ice Manipulation has now changed to Ice Manipulation I.]

[> The first stage of Ice Manipulation ability will soon be awakened.]

[> Pay 250,000 system points for the first stage awakening (Y/N)?]

Seeing this option left Alec quite perplexed, but he didn't hesitate to select "Y" for yes.

He was perplexed because water was the primary element of ice, Alec was eager to see what would happen if he assisted Titan in upgrading his Ice Manipulation to the true Manipulation stage.

[> Congratulations on gaining more affinity power and spell knowledge.]

[> The transfer of powers and knowledge has commenced.]

The moment he clicked "yes," new notifications popped up. The chill intensified, and the entire area began to grow extremely cold.

Titan was directly affecting the environment around him. Wanting to protect himself from the cold, Alec summoned sand, which swirled around him and formed a protective coat.

He still lacked any new spirit armor, which made him more vulnerable to the biting cold, but he ignored this discomfort as he focused on where the cold air was gathering.

It was centered at a broken tree, directly opposite the Boar King, which was now grunting and slowly retreating.

From its actions, Alec detected fear, and this led him to conclude that Titan could no longer hold back the Boar King again and had been sent crashing into the tree.

But something had unlocked in Titan; he had finally reached the first stage of his elemental manipulation, just as Alec had done before with his earth element.

This made Alec consider whether Titan's frequent use of magic was what caused it or some other factor had been responsible for triggering this evolution.

Alec and the rest of the golems watched as a human outline emerged from the icy fog, which seemed to have formed an entire domain.

However, Titan, whom the team had eagerly anticipated to emerge, did not fulfill their expectations, instead, a solitary frozen hand stretched out from the fog, pointing directly at the Boar King.

[> Mid Tier Spell – Frozen Force Field <]

Titan finally cast the spell, and even Alec was shocked by the name.

Throughout his journey as a mage, he had encountered similar spell, but he had never seen another mage use the one Titan just casted.

This meant he hadn't taught Titan about it. To see Titan, who had previously struggled with learning spells, effortlessly unleash a mid-tier spell he had never known was astounding.

Alec stood in disbelief; while he had witnessed Titan cast many skills and battle-related spells, none had been as sophisticated as this one.

Frost rapidly gathered and quickly covered the ground becoming more solid, as it spread toward the Boar King's position.

It moved so swiftly that even the Boar King could not escape its reach, as small frost started to creep up its limbs.

[> Mid Tier Spell – Ice Spike Tantrum <]

As the second spell was cast, large ice spikes erupted from the ground at every point the ice force field had reached.

The spikes began closing in on the center where the Boar King stood. .

It moved frantically but was unable to jump out of the way for fear of being impaled upon landing.

Despite the Boar King's cautious nature, it was ultimately caught off guard, as the ice spikes did not stop; over five spikes erupted from the ground beneath where the Boar King stood.

It was so fast that the Boar King had no time to react to the ice spears, and the fact that they came from beneath meant it struck at the most vulnerable parts of its body.

[> Titan levelled up!! ]

[> Evolution will begin now. Choose your golem's future path:]

> Quasi Ice Lord Golem (250,000 System Points)

> Advanced Ice Golem (250,000 System Points)

Alec looked perplexed as Titan levelled up twice after killing the demonic beast and he was sure the experience from the kills was not enough for such, the fog surrounding him began to flash with runes that seemed related to the ice element while levitating into the sky.

The ice elemental particles in the air were gathering at an alarming speed around the Ice Sphere.

Alec carefully considered both options before deciding on the Quasi Ice Lord Golem.

Though the Advanced Ice Golem appeared to be the continuation of Titan's current evolution, but Alec had learned from his past experiences from choosing his golems' evolution paths that newer options often represented hidden classes for his golems.

Without hesitation, he made his choice. After doing so, he was surprised that the system could manifest within the Beast Forest for this long.

His golems attempted to approach Titan, but the cold was too intense.

As they drew nearer, ice began to form on their bodies, threatening to freeze them before they could reach Titan.

Causing Alec to order them to maintain their distance from Titan, before his eyes, ten runes flashed around the massive fog sphere that Titan occupied, and as it materialized, Alec quickly realized it was Titan's summoning circle. The same circle that materialized whenever Titan called upon his minions.

Five familiar ice golems that always fought alongside Titan emerged first, but they too were encased in a smaller fog sphere that circled a quarter around Titan's own sphere.

To Alec's surprise, there were five new golems.

These new golems, while having elemental bodies like ice golems, they also had human features, like a humanoid version of Titan, but much weaker, without armour or weapon and at Tier 1 realm.

Another layer of icy blue fog enveloped them too, lifting their smaller sphere to fill the other quarter around Titan's own fog sphere.

Now, ten smaller spheres rotated around Titan's huge fog sphere in the center, almost as if they were protecting it. Suddenly, ten strands of mana emerged from the central fog, linking to the surrounding spheres.

As this happened, an icy blue light flashed into the sky, resembling a beacon.

"That can't be good!" Alec muttered to himself, feeling a surge of unease that made it impossible for him to still remain relaxed atop the tree branch he was squatting on.
