The Golem Mage

Chapter 670: Wild Nature vs Cold Nature 2.

Connor watched as Vincent slit his throat while maintaining eye contact with him, Vincent made it feel as if killing him were the most normal thing in the world.

As Vincent forcefully yanked out the kunai, blood gushed from Connor's neck.

Carmilla could see how difficult it was for Connor to even form a sentence as he choked on his breath, Vincent just stood beside him as a white light shone down and retracted Connor's transformed body away.

With Connor out of the picture, Vincent's next targets were Carmilla and Kira who is still down cold unconscious.

From the corner of his eye, he noticed that Dragov had already eliminated two of the mages meant to hold him off despite the battle formation they had employed

Such actions pained Vincent, as he had believed in them and their formation, but it seems it was too much for them to go against one of the most talented Bloodline mage of their generation.

Vincent cleared his mind of these thoughts, as he decided to focus on his own mission, which seemed to be the most crucial task at the moment.

Because if he failed to eliminate Carmilla and the unconscious Kira before Dragov finished with his teammates, he risked facing significant problems.

With these pressing matters at hand, Vincent wasn't interested in wasting time dealing with Carmilla.

He dashed toward her again, letting the chain that hooked to the Kunai on his left hand drop slightly before spinning it rapidly.

Seeing that she was the next target, Carmilla began making hand signs to cast her next spell as dark magical runes appeared on her hands; she is determined not to go down easily, despite Vincent's superior strength.

[> Mid Tier Spell – Shadow Entanglement<]

Carmilla cast her spell, and her shadow detached from her, moving toward Vincent as he charged forward.

Vincent noticed this and leaped into the air, realising the shadow had nearly reached him.

However, as he jumped, he felt his body freeze in mid-air, as if caught in a time pause spell, from the corner of his eye, he saw his shadow wrapped in what appeared to be shadow chains.

'Curse all these mysterious spells,' Vincent thought.

He had assumed that the shadow was meant to bind him directly, but he hadn't realized that Carmilla's shadow didn't need to make physical contact with him to be activated.

Instead, it only needed to approach his shadow, before it transforming into a series of shadow chains that ensnared his shadow in a tight bind, effectively immobilizing Vincent regardless of his actions.

As he looked at Carmilla, he noticed the strain it took for her to maintain this hold, so he became more determined to break free, as he began channelling his mana to its fullest extent.

Gradually, he felt himself regaining control over certain parts of his body, albeit slowly.

Unlike other mages who used their weapons to augment spells, like when Alec casts the flaming slashes which makes the spell power enhanced due to his weapon, Vincent was different.

He uses his elemental power to boost his weapons, since the fight began, he hadn't needed to expend much mana, as his opponents hadn't required him to channel his full power.

But now, pressed for time, he no longer cared about conserving his energy.

"Now!" Carmilla shouted, reminding Vincent of the threat he had overlooked, Kira had regained consciousness and attempted to stab him in the back.

However, the dagger was halted by a strange bluish aura that enveloped Vincent's body after he had channelled his Mana.

Even the shadow shackles binding his shadow shattered, and Carmilla's shadow retracted back to her.

As this happened, Carmilla coughed up blood and fell to one knee, weakened by the backlash from her spell.

The backlash of the spell when it fails to bind an opponent was one of the main reasons it was rarely used by mages and classified as forbidden.

However, Carmilla had access to such spells, and when pushed to her limits, she felt compelled to cast it to buy herself a little time.

Though she was aware they couldn't defeat Vincent Whitefang, she was determined to land at least one fatal strike on him to help Dragov win easily; that was part of the Bloodline Academy's initial plan.

With nothing holding him back, Vincent moved freely once more. When he turned to meet Kira's eyes, the softness he had initially shown at the beginning was completely gone.

All Kira could see was the deep, cold resolve in his gaze as he plunged his sword into her chest, causing the return light to rain down and envelop her body.

"If you ever want to attack me, do it from the front. A family member who resorts to a sneak attack deserves no sympathy from me," Vincent muttered coldly as he turned toward Carmilla.

He cracked his neck with his right hand holding his sword lightly while his left hand resumed its rapid spinning motion.

Carmilla had no more tricks left to use from a distance that would make Vincent break a sweat.

Realizing that she decided to close the gap, as she dashed forward she summoned two swords from her space ring, dual-wielding the two short swords, she aimed to pierce Vincent.

But he skillfully sidestepped her advance, using the spinning kunai to deflect her every attacks with minimal movement.

[> Mid Bloodline Spell – Blood Cannon <]

Carmilla cast another spell, her entire right hand enveloped in a pulsating red aura as she raised it, hoping to blast Vincent away. But in the next instant, she saw Vincent's left hand move faster than ever before.

With a swift motion, he swung his chained kunai at her hand.

In that instant, she saw her right hand, still pulsating with blood aura, floating in mid-air.

She was bewildered by how quickly he had moved, though he had severed her hand, the pain had yet to register in her mind.

[> Mid Tier Strike – Eclipse Blade <]

Before she could fully process what was happening, Vincent made his move, seemingly disappearing and reappearing a few meters away from her.

His blade remained outstretched as if he had just cut through something, the crowd watched in stunned silence as Carmilla's head fell to the ground, her expression frozen in surprise.

Bang!!

A loud explosion erupted as Carmilla's right hand, which is charged with energy from her last casting, finally touched the ground, obliterating her body.

The white light descended once more to collect her remains.

With all three mages eliminated, Vincent took a moment to survey the battlefield. Of the twenty-two mages who had entered the ring, only five remained, three of whom were from the Battle Mage Academy.

However, seeing the condition of the third mage, Vincent dismissed any thoughts of him contributing to the ending fight.

He was the last mage from the trio that had faced Dragov.

Vincent watched as the mage's head was crushed before the white light descended to take his body as well, meanwhile, Vladimir and Damien continued exchanging blows on the other side.

Vincent was certain that Vladimir and Damien were responsible for the deaths of the remaining mages, It seemed that Damien had adjusted his tactics upon realizing Vincent's strategy.

Vladimir had aimed for only one goal, and that was the swift elimination of the opposing team's members to advance to push the final fight much faster, the final fight as in when both the captains of each team would face off with the surviving mages supporting him.

However, with Damien mirroring Vlad's moves, they effectively cancelled each other out, and despite this strategy having the fastest elimination rate, they were the only survivors of it, two vice-captains and two captains. It was indeed the final showdown.

Bang!

Damien caused a blood burst from the massive blood pool levitating above him, forcing Vladimir to somersault backward to avoid the explosion's range.

This maneuver brought him level with Vincent, they stared at each other and they exchanged a nod, understanding each other's intentions even without the need of words.

Damien also now stood beside Dragov, who had embedded his massive sword into the ground as he cracked his neck.

"Good plan, I must say, but the warm-up is over. Let's do this now—it's not like we have all day, do we?" Dragov said, gripping the hilt of his weapon with his left hand, a smile graced his lips as he swept his right hand back to push his long white hair away from his face, revealing his gleaming eyes.

"Yes, let's settle this once and for all!" Vincent replied, spreading his arms wide, the blade in his right hand blazed with flames, while the chained kunai he let drop near the ground seemed to be enveloped in a swirling wind energy.

Seeing their captains preparing to clash, both Vladimir and Damien took their stances.

As Damien summoned different weapons from the blood pool levitating above him, while Vladimir conjured two crossbows, with a long sword hanging at his waist.

At that moment, the entire crowd erupted in excitement, eagerly anticipating the four of them dashing toward each other to initiate the final rounds of the match.
