The Invincible Full-Moon System

Chapter 1428: Spirit Conversion Settings

"Is this everything?" Rex asked, looking at the mountains of high-grade elemental stones.

As the Vortex Pit of Elements never stopped producing elemental stones, the amount currently sitting around in the storehouse wasn't surprising. Even though some elemental stones were distributed to certain people, there were still a lot of them left.

Rex purchased this infrastructure to strengthen his forces so he didn't personally regulate this place.

It was mostly the governor who ran the details of multiple key sectors of the city.

And seems like he was doing good work despite not being addressed in person other than by Gelmar.

An old man clads in a scholarly robe nods, his name is Miles.

Since Gelmar and Dindora were the ones tasked to distribute the elemental stones to various forces of the empire, the spot became empty—with Gelmar's departure and Dindora's death. Because of that, the governor assigned this person, Miles.

He is acting as a temporary guardian of the extracted elemental stones.

Rex scanned the entire building with the System, checking if Miles could be trusted for this position.

Surprisingly, despite being an Awakened—with the mind element, a Mind Elementalist, one of Lady Lauren's subordinates, he didn't keep any elemental stone for himself. The System found no elemental stones hidden in the building other than the mountains in front of him right now.

Miles didn't take any for himself and that was surprising.

No, it's not surprising. He's old, the governor is right by putting an old person in charge here.

Rex nodded to himself and extended his arm forward.

<Does the user want to convert all of the elemental stones into gold?>

<Yes or No>

Yes.

As soon as he willed the System to absorb, these piles instantly got enveloped in a bluish light.

Miles was taken aback when the mountains of elemental stones were gone in an instant.

All of them were stored in the Inventory and converted into gold.

Once the conversion was completed, Rex opened his stat windows to check his current gold.

<Gold: 35, 275,000>

"35 million?" Rex pondered aloud, skeptical. "Is that going to be enough?"

<Calculating…>

<…>

<Notice: In order to purchase and attain the highest quality of Spiritual Veins in the user's new body in the Spirit Realm, the user would need 10 million gold. If the user also wanted to bring over all three King Marks across, turning them into Soul Artifacts, it would cost 5 million for the Honey Moon King Mark and 7,5 million gold for the Blood Moon and Banished Dark Moon>

<Grand total for the entire set is 30 million gold>

"Okay, I'm good," Rex breathed easily. " And I still have the treasury chamber to convert"

Just as Rex was about to leave and continue on his gold gathering, he stopped.

System, one more thing. If I'm there, can I turn into a Werewolf?

<Yes! The user is naturally a Werewolf, the user can transform normally as normal>

Despite the answer, Rex was still skeptical.

Normally, the System is very nasty when it comes to gold—charging for anything Rex wanted.

So when it didn't give him a price, he was skeptical.

Will it be exactly the same as I am here?

<Notice: No, the user will not obtain the stat boost from the moon>

I knew it… So what? Do I need to also pay to cross over the Sovereign of the Night passive skill?

<Yes!>

How much is it? Cough it out.

<20 million gold is the cost to cross over the Sovereign of the Night passive skill>

Upon reading the notification, Rex couldn't help but rub his throbbing forehead—the cost to have the passive skill crossed over was too expensive, "If I could only amass 40 million gold and chose the Sovereign of the Night passive skill, I would need to either sacrifice my Soul Artifacts or the Spiritual Veins"

Rex was teetered between two choices.

Not having his normal boost in power from the moon or not having good Spiritual Veins.

Crossing over to the Spirit Realm through Iris' method would essentially create a new body for him in the Spirit Realm for him to inhabit, meaning, he would start from zero. Well, not exactly zero since his red force, curse energy, and King Marks if he decided to cross them over would help.

But rank-wise, in the Spirit Realm, he would start at the very bottom.

He needed to obey its laws.

He wouldn't be a pseudo-tenth-rank realm there, his power would be converted to their power system.

Even if his soul was somewhat intact and clean, he wouldn't be able to bypass that.

However, at least, if he could cross over without Iris' method then he wouldn't need to spend gold—to have his power cross over. Regardless, he would need to think and deliberate his options really well if he wanted to reach the Spirit Emperor.

From what he heard from Amanir, the Spirit Emperor is God-like.

He's the only one who was in the Primordial Awakener Spirit realm.

If converted into the power system of the mortal realm, he would be in the eleventh-rank realm.

Almost near the very top.

"And that is if I don't want to cross over other skills in my arsenal…" Rex sighed dejectedly.

Shaking his head, he gave a pat on the shoulder to Miles and exited the place.

Rex was wearing a jet-black robe to disguise himself as a passerby.

He didn't wear his crown or any clothes that would expose his identity to walk the street.

Of course, the people of the city would eventually recognize him even if he was covered in a hooded robe but at the very least—they would be suspicious first before realizing who he was, giving him time to leave before they could greet him.

Not that he didn't want their praise but now is not the time.

Knowing what lies ahead, he wanted to be alone with his thoughts with nobody disturbing him.

He needed to prepare for what he was going to become in the Spirit Realm.

No remorse, no regret, no hesitation… I must have no restraints once I'm there to protect the others.

As he thought of that, Rex stopped to look at the brilliant sun, basking under the warm sunlight, giving him a sense of rejuvenation even for a brief moment. Passing by the city square, he took a seat on the bench to his side.

It was the bench where his clone sat and talked with Nadia as he fought the Fifthborn.

Rex looked around to the people, his people—doing their daily activities with a smile on his face.

Some chatted on the water fountain, others bonded with their kids, and some were working.

Due to the position where he was sitting, he was shaded away from the sunlight.

"Right, this is my purpose in this world…" Rex muttered under his breath, his lips curled in a very faint smile, a helpless smile. "In order to protect the people I cared for, I can't afford to be relaxed. I must keep going—climbing… climbing and keep climbing in the path to power until I become Invincible. Only then will I be able to protect them"

Affirming the intention deep inside his heart, Rex stood up and headed for the castle.

Along the way, he came across Iris along with a couple of Dark Elf guards.

Ten city guards were escorting her and her group to the castle, it was time to cross over.

Among them, he saw a familiar face, Madam Qonvale.

"She's the one who could help me to prepare your crossing," Iris clarified, seeing that Rex was looking at Madam Qonvale intently. "She's one of our eldest, a seer, and also an Enchanter. At this moment, she is the perfect person to help"

"Excuse my visit, Your Majesty," Qonvale answered, making a formal and polite curtsy.

Upon hearing this, Rex didn't answer and walked past them to ascend the hill and into the castle.

Rex sends Valthor to guide Iris and Qonvale to the training chamber while the other Dark Elves wait outside of the castle with the other guards. Instead of going with them, he visited the treasury chamber and scanned the items there.

First of all, Rex took in the items below the ninth-rank realm and converted them into gold.

He sold them all in the System's shop.

Once he did that, the treasury chamber became a lot more spacious than before.

A lot of the artifacts and items were in the eighth-rank realm here so most of them disappeared.

<Gold: 41,790,000>

As expected, the eighth-rank realm treasures barely gave him gold.

It gave him only a bit more than half a million gold.

Rex scanned the rest of the treasures and cherry-picked which one he would keep and sold the others.

Items that picked his interest back when he visited the treasury chamber—with Liliya were kept, such as the Amber of Eternal Moon, Silverbranch Harp, Dewdrop of Celestial Midnight—and also the best one of them all, the Millenia Spirit Tree that produces the Millenia Black Cherry.

Of course, a couple more useful items were kept while the rest were sold off into the System's shop.

As the System calculated the amount of gold he obtained, his heart pounded inside his chest.

Please be more than 50 million, please be more than 50 million. 60 million would be the best.

Just then, a notification appeared and Rex's heart sank.

<Obtained 7,210,000 Gold!>

<Gold: 49,000,000>

"49 million…" Rex clenched his jaw in frustration. "Will that be enough?"

As soon as he emptied the treasury chamber, he went straight to the training chamber to meet with the others. Linthia was already there, along with Qonvale, Iris, and also Amanir. All of them were waiting for him to arrive.

Upon stepping inside, all eyes went over to him.

Rex approached them and turned to Iris, "Is the preparation complete?"

"Essentially, yes," Iris stole a glance at Qonvale. "But to make it optimal, we need an hour"

Realizing what that glance meant, Rex turned to Qonvale.

He kept his intense gaze at Qonvale before turning to Iris again, "What do you mean by optimal?"

Placed in a spot, Iris found no words to explain.

It was clear that it was Qonvale's idea.

Seeing this, Qonvale stepped forward, "Your Majesty, if I may…"

"Go ahead" Rex gestured, allowing her to speak.

Despite seemingly normal, Qonvale and even Iris could sense an icy coldness in his tone.

Nodding her head slightly, she clarified, "We could start the Soul and Spirit Conversion method right now, the preparation was complete and Your Majesty could cross over. But I feel like the pain would be too much and proposed to add another la-"

"Did I ask for your feelings?" Rex intervened, squinting his eyes.

Qonvale was taken aback, not expecting Rex to react like this—hostile to say the least.

"All I told Iris was to prepare for my crossing, no pain could overwhelm me. I'm used to it," Rex added, shutting Qonvale up completely. "Keep your thoughts and feelings to yourself, Qonvale. I never asked for it and I don't want to know. Do as I told"

"Yes…" Qonvale bowed, retreating back. "My apology for overstepping my position"

Upon hearing this, Rex exhaled roughly and turned to Iris again.

"I want to cross now, every second passed is precious" He commanded. "Don't worry, I'll not die"

Even though Iris found it odd for Rex to treat Qonvale like that, she didn't say anything and moved.

Soon, Rex and Linthia were sitting on their knees, facing the portal Amanir had summoned.

Iris was the one who was doing the ritual, basically creating a barrier filter in front of both Rex and also Linthia before Amanir opened the portal and the Spirit Realm's influence latched onto them.

Once she was done, she sat behind Rex and Linthia and placed a hand on their backs.

As this process continued, Rex was also finishing up the settings of his new body with the System.
