The Invincible Sect Leader

Chapter 61: Chapter 61: The Misadventures of the Heavenly Mystical Sect

After the intense battle with the Devourer Demon Iron Horn Bull, the sect finally had a moment to breathe. However, peace never lasted long in the Heavenly Mystical Sect. Chan Li, ever the eccentric sect leader, had a brilliant yet highly questionable idea to boost morale among his disciples.

"We're hosting the first-ever Sect Talent Competition!" Chan Li announced grandly, standing on the main platform.

The disciples exchanged wary glances. Every time their sect master had a "brilliant idea," things never ended well. Nonetheless, no one dared to question him. And so, the competition was set.

Round 1: The Battle of Wits

The first challenge was a battle of wits, where disciples had to answer ridiculous riddles or solve impossible formations. Yan Ling, the former demonic cultivator, was up first.

"If a phoenix flies south in the summer, but there's no wind in the east, how many peaches can you pick in winter?" Chan Li asked with a straight face.

Yan Ling stared at him, his mind spiraling into chaos. "What does that even mean?!"

"Wrong answer. The correct answer is… 42!" Chan Li declared. "Next!"

Round 2: The Martial Showcase Gone Wrong

Eager to redeem themselves, the disciples prepared for the martial showcase. Lin Xue, the ice-cold beauty, performed an elegant sword dance. However, midway through, a rogue chicken from the sect's farm rushed onto the stage, pecking at her robes.

"AHHH!" Lin Xue shrieked, breaking her ice goddess demeanor as she fled from the crazed poultry.

Meanwhile, Jiang Hao attempted to showcase his explosive fist technique. However, due to a miscalculation in his energy control, he ended up launching himself into the sky, vanishing into the horizon.

"He'll be fine," Chan Li assured everyone. "Probably."

Round 3: The Spirit Beast Wrestling Tournament

For the final round, disciples had to wrestle a spirit beast of their choice. Chan Li, in his infinite wisdom, had selected the laziest, most overweight panda spirit beast, assuming it would be an easy match.

Little did he know, the panda was a hidden expert.

The moment the match started, the panda casually grabbed Chan Li by the collar and flipped him over its shoulder. The entire sect gasped in shock. Their invincible sect master was now pinned under a snoring panda.

After struggling for several minutes, Chan Li finally admitted defeat. "Alright, alright, I yield!"

The disciples burst into laughter, some rolling on the floor. It was a rare moment where they got to see their sect master being bested.

The Aftermath

That night, the sect feasted in celebration. Though the competition was a disaster, it had brought them closer together. Chan Li, nursing his bruised ego and munching on a roasted chicken leg, grumbled to himself.

"Next time, I'm picking a normal spirit beast."

And thus, another chaotic day ended at the Heavenly Mystical Sect.
