The Invincible Sect Leader

Chapter 86: Chapter 86: The Eternal Youth And The Immortal Family?

The war had finally ended. The Blood Demon Cult was vanquished, its monstrous leaders slain, and its corrupted disciples either eradicated or sealed away. The Martial Sky Alliance had emerged victorious, though at a heavy cost. The battlefield, once filled with roars of warriors and cries of the fallen, had now become eerily silent. The lands of the Martial Sky World were once again at peace.

Chan Li, as usual, had played his part with a mix of brilliance and absurdity, leaving both allies and enemies baffled by his strength and antics. After making sure the last of the Blood Demon Cult's remnants were gone, he yawned lazily and declared, "Alright, war's over. Time for a long nap."

And with that, he disappeared from the public eye.

Nine Hundred Years Later

Time passed like a fleeting breeze, and the world changed drastically. Clans rose and fell. Empires were built and destroyed. New geniuses emerged, shaking the foundation of the world, only to eventually succumb to the relentless march of time. Yet, amidst all this change, one thing remained constant Chan Li, Tang Yu, and their son, Chan Lang.

Chan Lang, who should have been an old man by now, still looked as youthful as ever. His mother, Tang Yu, still retained her beauty and grace, appearing no older than the day she first married Chan Li. And as for Chan Li himself? He still looked like the same mischievous, carefree man he had always been, as if time had no hold on him.

It was unnatural.

At first, they ignored it. But as decades turned to centuries, the eerie reality became undeniable. People they once knew had long perished. Great warriors had aged and crumbled into dust. Even the strongest martial artists, those who did not cultivate immortal arts, had lifespans of only 500 years. Yet, here they were, watching the world change from one era to another without aging a single day.

Tang Yu sat beside Chan Li one evening, staring at him suspiciously. "Husband… I've been meaning to ask this for a long time. Why are we not aging?"

Chan Li blinked, then rubbed his chin. "Hmm. Maybe we eat too many vegetables?"

Tang Yu rolled her eyes. "Be serious for once. This is not normal. Our son should be an old man by now. Instead, he still looks like he's in his prime!"

Chan Lang, who was sitting across from them, nodded in agreement. "Father, Mother… I have traveled across the world and met countless powerful warriors. Even those who cultivate divine-level martial arts eventually succumb to age. But us? Not a single wrinkle! Even my hair is still thick!" He ran his hand through his long, dark locks in frustration. "This isn't right!"

Chan Li took a deep sip from his tea, looking completely unbothered. "Well, maybe we're just built differently."

"Father!" Chan Lang groaned, rubbing his temples. "Seriously, do you even have an answer? Or are you just pretending not to care?"

Chan Li sighed, setting his cup down. "Alright, alright. You want a serious answer? Fine." He leaned forward, his eyes flickering with an unfathomable light. "The truth is… I have no idea either!"

Both Tang Yu and Chan Lang nearly fell out of their seats. "What?!" they shouted in unison.

Chan Li shrugged. "Look, I reincarnated into this world with powers even I don't fully understand. Maybe I broke something in the natural order? Maybe I became too strong to be affected by time? Who knows? The point is, worrying about it won't change anything. If we're not aging, we should enjoy it!"

Tang Yu crossed her arms, narrowing her eyes. "So, you really don't know…?"

Chan Li shook his head. "Nope. And honestly? I'm too lazy to investigate. If something weird happens, I'll deal with it then."

Chan Lang sighed. "I swear, Father, you are the most irresponsible powerful person in existence."

Chan Li grinned. "And that's why I'm the happiest."

The Murmurs of Fate

Though the family tried to move past their mysterious immortality, the world had not forgotten them. Rumors had begun to spread whispers of an immortal family residing in the secluded valleys, untouched by time.

Powerful sects, curious scholars, and even those seeking the secrets of eternal life had started their search for them. Some sought wisdom. Others sought power. And some… sought to claim what they could not understand.

Chan Li, of course, remained completely unbothered. As he sat in his garden, watching the sun set, he muttered to himself, "I suppose I'll deal with this when they come knocking."

Tang Yu sighed beside him. "You always wait until the last minute, don't you?"

Chan Li smirked. "It's called strategic laziness. Besides, if they come, we'll just send them away. Simple as that."

Tang Yu and Chan Lang exchanged glances. Somehow, they had a feeling it wouldn't be that simple.
