Chapter 137: Sister Will Support You
To be honest, Lin Hao really didn't want to go, but if he didn't, Shen Sihai definitely wouldn't give up.
Since he would soon get rid of this cancer, Shen Sihai, Lin Hao saw no need to offend him; rather, he should let him lower his guard.
Su Muyu naturally heard that it was Shen Sihai trying to invite Lin Hao to dinner. It was obvious Lin Hao didn't want to go, but he agreed because of Luo Zhijun.
"Brother-in-law, Shen Sihai is no good. Be careful not to fall for his tricks," Su Muyu reminded.
"Brother-in-law knows," Lin Hao said nonchalantly.
"Brother-in-law, is Shen Sihai trying to get a piece of the pie too?" Su Muyu asked.
"Haven't met him yet, so I don't know his thoughts, but I guess he's interested in the new energy battery project," Lin Hao boldly speculated.
"Brother-in-law, I'll go with you," Su Muyu volunteered.
"You go with me? That might not be appropriate," Lin Hao said with a pained expression.
"What's inappropriate? I'm your sister-in-law. I don't believe Shen Sihai would dare try anything. Besides, Luo Zhijun is my brother-in-law too, so why can't I go for a free meal?" Su Muyu insisted.
Although Lin Hao didn't understand why she wanted to go, he knew it was no good and just brushed her off, "Then call Luo Zhijun. If he says you can go, I have no objections."
"Fine, I'll call him. I can't believe I won't even get a free meal," Su Muyu said with a cunning smile.
Lin Hao felt a chilling sensation down his back, sensing that this beautiful woman was no pushover.
Su Muyu directly called Luo Zhijun. Whatever she said worked, because she sorted it out with him.
"Brother-in-law, Luo Zhijun agreed."
"Since he agreed, I have no objections. Give me a ride back, and I'll see you tonight."
"Okay!" Su Muyu said with great excitement as she stepped on the gas and sped off.
Lin Hao returned to the county committee office and immediately headed to Li Jingyi's office, producing two lease contracts.
"Secretary Li, these are the lease contracts for the office building and the villa."
Li Jingyi took a look and found out that they had indeed been leased for two yuan, exclaiming with delight, "Lin Hao, you did it! You managed to accomplish such a difficult task. Now our county committee and county government have some prestige."
"I personally inspected both places; there's no issue with the utilities. We just need to get someone to clean up," Lin Hao added.
"Contact a professional cleaning company to clean them up; the costs can be reimbursed through the office," Li Jingyi instructed.
"I've already contacted them. The cleaning company will go tomorrow, and Vice President Liao and others will probably come over next week," Lin Hao replied.
"Director Lin, since the Huamao Group supports Wucheng County's economic development, we can slightly adjust our policies in their favor," Li Jingyi said cheerfully.
"I know what to do," Lin Hao nodded slightly.
"By the way, I got a call from a friend today asking me to look after Wuning City's Zhi Xing Group. What do you think?" Li Jingyi asked casually.
"We can look after them, but it's best if the taxes are in our Wucheng County so we don't end up doing it all for them," Lin Hao said truthfully.
Li Jingyi knew well the role of introducing foreign capital to boost Wucheng County's economy. The Zhi Xing Group belonged to Wuning City, and if it didn't count under Wucheng, it would indeed be a bit futile.
"It's an old friend, and it's hard for me to refuse. How about this: I'll have you go and talk to his mom. If negotiations fail, then let's talk."
"If I go and they ignore me, wouldn't that be embarrassing?" Lin Hao didn't want to take on such a hot potato.
"What are you afraid of? With me backing you up, are you afraid someone will eat you up?" Li Jingyi said.
"Fine, I'll do my best. What if they refuse to allocate the taxes to our Wucheng County?" Lin Hao asked with a grimace.
"If they don't allocate the taxes to Wucheng County, don't reject it immediately. Just drag it out slowly and negotiate over time until they give in," Li Jingyi said seriously.
"Understood," Lin Hao nodded slightly.
"As for those entrepreneurs contacting you from Wucheng County, find a time to hold a private meeting with them and select the best enterprises as supporting industries for the new energy sector; manage it well yourself," Li Jingyi continued to delegate authority to him.
After all, Lin Hao was a senior economist with dual degrees, and he was gathering information about these companies. She believed he could select the best enterprises to support the new energy industry.
"Luo Zhijun arranged for Shen Sihai to have dinner with me tonight. I plan to accept the invitation and see what he's up to," Lin Hao reported proactively.
"Be careful when you go; don't fall into someone else's trap," Li Jingyi cautioned.
"What? Afraid someone will get the better of me?" Lin Hao grinned mischievously.
"Yes, I would hate to see it. Satisfied now, young man?" Li Jingyi responded with a smile.
She was currently in a spirited mood, which made her more playful. Otherwise, she wouldn't have said something so sentimental.
"I knew you cared about me. I'm off then," Lin Hao said as he pinched her cheek and strutted off triumphantly.
Li Jingyi watched his back as he left and then glanced at the two lease contracts on the table, thinking this kid really had some skills, sorting out two major tasks so quickly. Lov%e# thi$s* st@ory.? S#ho#w su-p*p+o*rt% at MV2.LEM^PYR..
With the villa and upscale office building in hand, the Wucheng County committee and government could be more confident, and as the county secretary, she had more prestige.
...
Lin Hao returned to the office, and Liu Tingting sent over the first batch of company profiles.
To better understand these companies, Lin Hao dared not delegate the review and started going through it himself.
After all, choosing the best companies and entrepreneurs from so many would ordinarily be quite challenging.
But Lin Hao, being a senior economist, didn't find it difficult to identify great companies. Next, he needed to meet these business leaders individually to assess their management style and character.
Lin Hao stayed late after working hours, essentially making Luo Zhijun and Shen Sihai wait longer to test their patience.
During that time, Luo Zhijun called twice, and Lin Hao used overtime as an excuse to make him keep waiting.
Half an hour later, Su Muyu called.
"Brother-in-law, you're still working overtime? Let's go to dinner. I'm starving."
"That's right. I promised to go to dinner. How could I forget while working overtime? I'm coming right out."
"Brother-in-law, hurry up. We're waiting for you at the door."
"Got it," Lin Hao slowly started packing up.
This afternoon, he'd reviewed a lot of data and had a good understanding of many companies.
With this, he could meet with those entrepreneurs and solidify the next steps for the supporting industries.
