Chapter 388: 27 chapters: Farewell
"Christina, do you understand psychic shockwave?" Andrew's voice echoed in Christina's mind.
Christina nervously looked at Andrew.
Turning his face, Andrew looked at Christina. His forehead was already covered in sweat. To be precise, he was drenched in a cold sweat from head to toe.
Alyxandr's mouth slightly curved upward.
"It's the kind the Lich used earlier, large-scale telepathy!" Andrew further explained to Christina.
Christina nodded slightly.
"Do the largest psychic shockwave you can. Just announce, 'I know where Mr. Paber is! Make sure to shield us from this guy!' "
This was their last resort, only the Lich could save them now.
If they could hear it, perhaps they'd come immediately. Their target was Mr. Paber. If they could draw them here, there might still be a glimmer of hope.
*Ironically, the thing Andrew feared the most had now become their sole savior.*
Christina slowly looked at Alyxandr, gathering all her strength. Then, she released a psychic shockwave, the range of which was unknown even to herself.
"I know where Mr. Paber is—!"
However, something bizarre happened instantly.
Their surroundings started to distort violently. It was a distortion visible to the naked eye, almost as if a huge bubble was enveloping the three of them, along with the stupefied Turuk. The outer world, including the light, was twisted.
Andrew was bewildered, and Christina was equally at a loss. Only Alyxandr was smiling.
Mere moments later, everything returned to normal.
"Trying to call for help?" Alyxandr smiled and said, "Do you think, with me here, your call for help could succeed?"
*"It's over, the last path is also blocked..."* At this moment, even the cunning Andrew's mind went blank.
*He didn't stand a chance against absolute power.*
"So, have you decided yet? Which outcome do you want? If you don't make a choice, then I'll decide for you." Alyxandr smiled as he took a step forward.
Andrew quickly stepped back, clenching his fists but not daring to make a move.
Just as Andrew was racking his brain for a way out, Christina suddenly stepped between him and Alyxandr, "I'll go with you! Let them go!"
Andrew stared blankly at the determined Christina.
"You mean them? The Blood Elf and the little Beastman?" Alyxandr stopped, smiling, "I have no interest in the little Beastman, but the Blood Elf, no, I must take him back. He's clearly connected with the White Bone Holy Light Court."
"No, he has nothing to do with the White Bone Holy Light Court. He's a Mercenary Corps Commander." Christina argued.
"Is he?" Alyxandr raised his head, replying meaningfully, "I'll prove to you that he has been deceiving you all along."
Andrew's heart couldn't help but skip a beat upon hearing this.
"If you don't agree, I... I'll..." Christina was still unaware of the change in Andrew.
"You will what?" Alyxandr continued to smile.
Christina opened her mouth in nervous tension, her gaze shifting back and forth between Andrew and Alyxandr.
*Yes, what could she do? Could she stop Alyxandr? His strength far surpassed Andrejewitsch's.*
*She could only turn around, staring at Andrew with tears welling up in her eyes.*
Andrew swallowed dryly, comforting her, "It's okay, even if he takes me back... it should be fine, right?"
*Perhaps this was to comfort Christina or maybe to comfort himself.*
"No, it's my problem in the first place," Christina said, "You've already helped me a lot, you shouldn't be dragged into this."
"But I am already involved..." Andrew answered helplessly.
The surroundings were silent, only the morning breeze blowing gently.
Turuk stood there, not knowing what to do.
Alyxandr folded his hands, watching them with an expressionless face.
Suddenly, a green light flashed, and Christina unexpectedly transformed into her dragon form.
"What are you trying to do—!" Alyxandr roared ferociously.
Turuk was so scared that he fell to the ground.
Before they could react, Christina grabbed Andrew with her huge claws, spreading her wings and soaring into the sky, or more precisely, heading towards Udoven.
In an instant, Alyxandr also transformed into a golden dragon and dashed out. On the small hill, only the dumbfounded Turuk and two wobbling horses remained, subdued by the dragon's might.
"I will hide you," Christina said, looking down at Andrew.
She then spread her wings, gliding towards the fortified stronghold of Udoven.
Even the pursuing Alyxandr was stunned.
Horns sounded from the city walls as a large number of soldiers poured out in haste.
"What's going on? It's a dragon!"
"Oh my God! Two dragons! Did those guys summon them?"
Just like the Beastman Army that previously attacked Andrejewitsch, the Human Army, in a state of wartime readiness, was equally tense.
Although humans might be more rational than Beastmen, that was only before anything happened.
