Chapter 23: Chapter 22 - Dungeon Break [2]

Just as I was about to head out of my apartment to check out the dungeon break, my clone, who was keeping an eye on the so-called E-Rank Hunter Sung Jin-woo, got in touch with me.

The update was that Sung Jin-woo is joining a dungeon raid with some random team he might've found online.

Some extra info: Sung Jin-woo has a sister who I've already met outside his hospital room during my visit. She's in high school, and it seems like the two of them are living on their own right now.

The reason for this might be because their mom is in the hospital, as my clone's research suggests. This could also be why Sung Jin-woo decided to become a hunter in the first place.

Anyway, I told my clone to keep gathering more info because there are so many things about this Sung Jin-woo guy that don't add up. I need to clear up these mysteries.

Who is he really? Is he truly a double-reawakening hunter? But then, why didn't Woo Jin Chul notice anything unusual when he evaluated him? Plus, my clone's reports say that Sung Jin-woo's magical energy is rapidly increasing, and even physically, he's changed a lot, likely due to his intense daily training.

Could he be another hunter who keeps getting stronger, like me? Because hunters usually don't grow beyond their initial awakening rank—except for me, of course.

In any case, he's an intriguing person, and I need to keep watching him to figure out his true motives, so the investigation will continue.

In a few minutes, I reached the place of the dungeon break, while levitating above the ground I watched the hunters below struggling to defeat the Golems , according to my counting, the number currently is 9 of the golems, and a total of 8 hunters are trying to stop them, as they already defeated 3 of the golems already.

The hunters, 1 Being B-Rank and other 7 being C-Rank and 1 of them being an Healer, was undoubtedly the reason of them struggling against these weak golems, who were at best C-Rank Beasts.

I hovered high above the scene, The dungeon break had already caused quite a stir.

Reporters with cameras and microphones were shouting over each other, trying to get the best angle of the action. Civilians, despite the soldiers' efforts to push them back, were lingering nearby, their faces a mix of fear and morbid curiosity. Some were filming on their phones, while others were just staring, wide-eyed, at the fight unfolding before them.

The hunters—eight of them—were inside the barricade, doing their best to hold the line. They were putting up a decent fight, but it was obvious they were struggling. The hunters were exhausted, their movements sluggish, and the healer was running on fumes, her hands trembling as she tried to keep everyone alive.

I sighed, running a hand through my hair. "This is gonna get messy if I don't step in."

As if on cue, one of the reporters spotted me. "Look! Up there! It's Naruto Uzumaki, the S-Rank hunter!"

The crowd erupted into a frenzy. Cameras swung in my direction, and the reporters started shouting questions, their voices blending into a cacophony of noise. "Naruto-san! Are you here to handle the dungeon break?" "What's your plan to stop the golems?" "Can you comment on the situation?"

I ignored them for the moment. The golems were one thing, but I could feel the main boss inside the gate , its magical energy pulsing faintly but ominously. If it decided to come out, things would go from bad to catastrophic in seconds, though, I don't think, a B-Rank Dungeon boss could do much , at least in my watch.

I teleported down in a flash, landing just outside the barricade. The soldiers immediately tensed, their weapons snapping toward me, but they relaxed when they realized who I was. One of them, a captain by the looks of it, stepped forward. "Naruto Uzumaki, sir! We've been ordered to hold the line, but the hunters inside are struggling. We could use your help."

I nodded, my eyes scanning the barricade. "I'll handle it. Keep the civilians back—things are about to get loud."

Without waiting for a response, I teleported again, this time appearing inside the barricade, right in front of the hunters. They froze mid-battle, their eyes widening as they recognized me. The B-Rank hunter, who seemed to be leading the hunter team here being the highest ranked hunter in the team, stammered, "N-Naruto Uzumaki? What are you—"

"Stand back," I said, cutting him off. "I'll take it from here."

The golems turned their attention to me, their hollow eyes glowing faintly as they shifted their massive bodies. They were slow, but their strength was nothing to scoff at. Still, they were just oversized rocks to me. I raised a hand, and in an instant, a dozen shadow clones materialized around me.

"You know what to do," I said, and the clones sprang into action.

I didn't stick around to watch. The boss monster was still inside the dungeon, and I wasn't about to let it wreak havoc. I teleported again, this time to the entrance of the dungeon gate.

I stepped through the gate, the familiar sensation of spatial distortion washing over me as I entered the dungeon. The air inside was thick with mana, and the walls pulsed faintly with an otherworldly light. Somewhere in the depths of this place, the boss was waiting. And I wasn't about to keep it waiting for long.
