The Lord Demon King is Unfathomable!

Chapter 249: Reckoning!

The office on the third floor of the Sawtooth Chamber of Commerce was now a complete wreck.

The walls were covered with charred cracks, and the air was filled with the smell of burning.

The heavy desk was tilted and overturned to one side, beyond the shattered window was a silent darkness.

However, more chilling than the night was the deafening roar coming from the distant streets.

"Smash the Trade Union!!!"

"Black Wind Castle belongs to Lord Demon King! Not this bunch of bloodsucking parasites!"

"Long live Lord Demon King!!!"

Grock knelt on the ground, trembling all over.

Looking at the almost destroyed office, then at the surge of fury coming through the night, unprecedented fear appeared on his face.

He finally understood.

Why the Demon King kept him until now.

The master was not afraid to kill him, not because he cared about the Dragon family behind him, but to keep him as bait to drag the Dragon family into the mire, and let him take the fall after everything ended.

As early as the Lords' meeting more than a month ago, that person had already decided how to kill him.

"I... I, please wait a moment!" He suddenly raised his head, like grabbing the last straw for survival, his eyes staring at Glak standing in front of him.

The burly Beastman Warrior carried a Double-edged Battle Axe, the firelight reflected in his pupils, making him look like a grim reaper on the battlefield.

Grock crawled forward a step, his tone filled with desperate pleading.

"Lord, Lord Glak, I beg you—give me a chance! I can pledge allegiance to the Demon King! I can bite the Dragon family for the Demon King! Please allow me to serve the Demon King—"

"Allegiance to Lord Demon King?" Glak sneered, baring his fangs, revealing a sinister smile, "Are you worthy?"

Just a mere goblin!

As soon as he finished speaking, he slammed the Double-edged Battle Axe in his hand onto the floor, the massive impact causing the entire ground to tremble, dust falling down.

Grock's face turned pale instantly, his lips trembled so much he couldn't utter a word, backing away in panic.

He must escape!

He couldn't die here!

Driven by the instinct for survival, he finally moved his legs, stumbling and turning to run away.

Blood Blade Demon General Glak watched the fleeing goblin with a mocking gaze, like looking at a corpse, not even bothering to chase, just resting the Battle Axe on his shoulder.

Not daring to stay a second longer, Grock stumbled out of the office, rushed down the stairs, and ran towards the back door of the Chamber of Commerce in a flurry.

He had no time to think, no time to look back, his heart racing wildly, his ears filled with the frenzied roars and sneers of goblins, and the firelight on the street had already illuminated the night sky.

"Break open the Chamber door!"

"Take back what's ours!"

"Awooo!!!"

The guards outside had completely collapsed, they were hirelings of the Chamber of Commerce, their loyalty was maintained by money, but now, their employer was already struggling to save themselves.

"Run!"

"Damn it, those paupers are charging in!"

"Run—!"

Watching the guards abandon him and flee, Grock was both shocked and angry, but could only curse and then turn to run.

He dashed out the back door madly, slipped into a narrow alley, trying to escape this battlefield that had already ignited. However, his steps suddenly halted—

The road ahead was already blocked by a group of goblins.

They were wearing ragged clothes, holding crude weapons, but their eyes burned with unprecedented rage.

These were the laborers of Black Wind Castle—goblins who had been exploited, oppressed, and enslaved by the Sawtooth Chamber of Commerce.

Of course, not all of them were oppressed by the Sawtooth Chamber of Commerce, but that no longer mattered.

Grock's lips trembled as he slowly backed away, trying to turn and flee, but more goblins gradually poured into the alley behind him.

He was completely surrounded.

"What... what do you want?"

His voice was hoarse, with a tinge of despairing plea, "I was framed! You can't touch me! Please wait, I was used by the Dragon family! It's them—"

Smack!

A calloused hand slapped Grock's face fiercely.

"Dragon family? I knew it, so it's you guys!"

The one who hit him was an old goblin, whose face was full of wrinkles, his eyes filled with deep-seated hatred.

"Do you know how many of our brothers died?" The old goblin's voice was low and angry, "And now you still have the nerve to say you were framed?"

"You cheap lapdogs of the Dragon family, pouring dirty water on Lord Demon King! It was you! Who made our children, our neighbors, our brothers drink poisoned water!"

"Pay with your life! Let him pay with his life!!"

The surrounding goblins erupted in roars, raising their weapons and pounding against the ground, making a dull echo.

Grock had completely collapsed, he knelt on the ground, banging his head frantically, his voice filled with tear-choked sobs: "No—don't kill me! I am the Chamber's Chairman! I... I can compensate you! Gold! And Kela... I will give you as much as you want!"

However, what his begging received were eyes filled with hatred.

"Gold?"

"I spit! That was ours to begin with!!"

"Hang him up!"

With a shout, several sturdy ropes suddenly looped around Grock's neck and limbs, dozens of goblins working together, dragging him to the end of the alley towards a rusty street light pole.
