The Lord Demon King is Unfathomable!

Chapter 256: Father and Son

As the battle heated up—

The Blood Temple had just unfolded, and the world transformed abruptly. The air above Black Wind Castle seemed stained a deep red, with the lifeblood of the entire city converging towards an invisible altar, forming this scarlet domain!

From afar, the players widened their eyes. They were initially eager to rush into the battlefield, but now they all stopped in their tracks with expressions of shock, clearly wondering, "Did we enter the wrong dungeon?"

A Skeleton Mage draped in a black magic robe and holding an Undead Wand gazed at the swirling blood-red clouds in the distance. The wand trembled slightly in his hand while his bones rattled uncomfortably.

After a long while, he remarked with emotion.

"... Damn it, they fought so hard they nearly obliterated the path. How did we even dare to rush in just now?"

Thankfully, his profession was an Acolyte, so he didn't go himself but instead summoned a group of cannon fodder minions to die for him.

Beside him, a Lizardman player covered in emerald green scales and carrying a giant bow on his back clicked his long tongue in genuine admiration.

"Tsk tsk, this scene, if made into a CG promo, it could directly lure all the players online into the game."

"You call this luring?" a little Demon player rolled his eyes, looking up at the sky at the towering blood-red temple with envy, "A beta game made like this? This is freaking live-action film, isn't it!"

In the distance, blood-colored fog rolled, and black flames intertwined as the two strong players on the battlefield stood like towering mountains.

Under the destructive energy collision, surrounding buildings turned to dust, and the air was compressed, letting out a helpless groan.

At this moment, nearby combat profession players were whispering among themselves.

"So, how many of us do you think it would take to swarm and kill those two?" a skeleton armoured Undead Warrior pondered aloud, stroking his chin.

The Skeleton Mage immediately chimed in, "I think... at least a hundred thousand troops, right?"

"Nonsense! Do you think it's just piling up heads to kill mobs? Transcendents and mortal armies are not on the same level!" The Lizardman Archer scoffed, shaking his head. "I think ninety thousand should suffice."

"Uh, what's the difference from a hundred thousand?"

"Big difference! I calculated that, based on the ratio of Transcendents in the army, there should be at least five to six thousand combat professions, spreading it out... We'd each die thirty times on average, and maybe we'd manage to wear down the Boss."

"Impressive, you actually calculated that."

"Oh, listening to his nonsense makes more sense than him bragging."

The players whispered together, their atmosphere light and teasing, in stark contrast with the surrounding ruins.

Injured goblins were crawling from the ruins of the collapsed buildings, hobbling towards the Magic Crystal Cannon Factory direction. They felt it was probably safe there; at least it was crucial for supplying frontline war equipment, and Hell's "higher-ups" couldn't ignore it.

Despite their illogical reasoning, the result was the same.

Zakro indeed had no interest in the Magic Crystal Cannon Factory, nor the time to pay attention to that side.

Beside him, a little Demon player crossed his arms, looking at the bloody battlefield with a complex expression and a tone tinged with helplessness.

"But speaking of which, that damned planner really never intended for us to claim any rewards... This is completely beyond Bronze level, damn it."

"Yeah, this task is just sending us home, right?" moaned a recently revived Skeleton player, looking dejected. "I figured, should we consider some other strategies, like just waiting for the Boss to die on its own?"

"Probably wait till the server shuts down."

As everyone lamented, the battlefield's sanguine aura and black fire clashed again, creating a destructive shockwave, instantly blowing away several players who were too close!

"Get lost!" Zakro roared, his claw reaching forward, purple flames carved a "bloody path" through the sea of blood instantly!

Watching the charging Boss, the surrounding players wailed like ghosts and wolves.

"Oh shit!"

"Help! Heading back to the login screen again!"

"Aaaahhhh—Ooooh!"

After a series of screams, amid the devastation, players' bodies turned to ash and vanished in the air.

Seeing the newbies' miserable state, the standing players exchanged looks, their expressions a mixture of emotions.

The Lizardman Archer couldn't help but swallow hard, "... If we get a bit closer, do you think we'd be left with no trace?"

But—

Not all the voices were melancholic.

Unlike the goblin NPCs crying for their parents, these players could revive even if they died. Although failing to defeat the Boss was frustrating, some felt hopeful about the future.

It's just a beta!

A little setback was normal.

The little Demon flying in the sky watched the distant duel between the two powerful characters, his eyes heated and nearly drooling, his voice tinged with excitement.

"This... is way too damn realistic! The impact, the environmental destruction, can a beta reach this level?!"

The Skeleton Mage gripped his wand tightly, shouting excitedly.

"Public test! Done deal! It's a sure thing!"

But at that moment, a Lizardman carrying a battle axe was suddenly taken aback, his voice tinged with nervousness.

"Wait! Is the Boss heading towards the Lord's Mansion?!"

The little Demon next to him immediately snapped back, his face changing as well.

"Damn it! I almost forgot about this setting! If the Demon King dies, the server resets?!"

That guy usually sneaks around, always setting up traps for others, never falling into anyone's trap, almost making him forget about this setting!
