The Magus In Marvel

Chapter 12: Saving the Queen?

Before Tony and Rin could rush off, the doors to the throne room swung open, revealing Frigga and Jane hurriedly stepping inside.

Frigga's eyes immediately locked onto Odin's. "Odin."

Odin turned to her, his expression firm but calm. "Frigga." Then, addressing the Asgardian guards, he commanded, "Send a squadron to the weapons vault, defend it at all costs. Seal the dungeon. Go!" His gaze returned to Frigga and Jane. "It's a skirmish, nothing to fear."

Frigga gave him a knowing look, one that seemed to cut through the façade. "You've never been a very good liar."

Odin sighed before relenting slightly. "Take her to your chambers. I'll come for you when it's safe."

Frigga gently took Jane's arm. "You take care."

Odin's lips curled slightly in a rare moment of affection. "Despite all I have survived, my queen still worries over me."

Frigga stepped closer, placing a hand on his arm. "It is only because I worry over you that you have survived."

Tony, standing off to the side, folded his arms. "Okay, that's cute and all, but I'm guessing the old guy is sending us off so he can be all kingly."

Rin nudged him. "You're not staying here. You're coming with me."

Tony frowned. "Wait, hold on. Why? You're going with Frigga. Shouldn't I—?"

"Go outside," Rin cut him off. "Help the soldiers. I'll be where I need to be."

Tony stared at her, clearly unsure. "And why am I listening to you?"

"Because so far, the little girl who apparently knows the future has been right," Rin said smugly.

Tony huffed. "Fine. But if I die, I'm haunting you."

Rin rolled her eyes as Tony turned to leave, but before he stepped out, he glanced back. "Be careful, kid."

Rin smirked. "You too, Stark."

As Heimdall stood at his usual guarding post, a disturbance in the air made his eyes narrow. His senses sharpened as he turned and ran, unsheathing his sword in one fluid motion. With a mighty leap, he landed onto an invisible ship, his blade piercing through its hull, revealing its form before it spiraled down and crashed into the sea below. But before he could take a breath, an even larger vessel loomed ominously behind him, its dark form blotting out the sky as it released smaller ships that swarmed like locusts. Heimdall wasted no time, sprinting along the bridge as Asgard's defenses roared to life. The sky lit up with energy bolts and fire, but the Dark Elves' assault was relentless, their ships weaving through Asgardian towers as explosions erupted across the city.

Just as the Dark Elves' attack escalated, another figure joined the fray. Tony Stark, clad in a sleek new suit that shimmered with unfamiliar energy, shot into the air. The armor had a familiar nano-tech feel but moved with a fluidity that hinted at something else—something beyond Earth's technology.

"Alright, let's see if magic and science can actually play nice together," Tony muttered to himself as he aimed his repulsors and fired at an oncoming ship.

Unlike his usual weapons, the blast carried a strange glow, laced with a faint blue shimmer that made Rin's influence undeniable. Whether he liked it or not, Stark Industries was now flirting with the arcane.

As he flew across the battlefield, Tony intercepted multiple Dark Elves, using his advanced targeting systems and enhanced weaponry to cut them down before they could reach the palace. The Asgardian soldiers, initially caught off guard by his presence, quickly realized he was on their side.

"Who is that?" one soldier asked in awe.

"No idea," another replied, watching as Tony blasted an enemy ship clean out of the sky. "But I hope he stays."

Meanwhile, deep within the dungeons, Thor fought furiously against the escaped prisoners. The Dark Elves had released them as part of their assault, forcing Thor to engage in brutal, close-quarters combat. He swung Mjolnir with precision, each strike sending his foes flying. Lightning arced across the stone walls as he fought his way through, knowing he had to get to the palace.

With one final, thunderous strike, he cleared a path and rushed toward the throne room, unaware of the danger that awaited his mother.

Inside the palace, Malekith and his forces stormed the halls, cutting down any Asgardian soldier that stood in their way. The gleaming golden corridors, once symbols of Asgard's grandeur, were now tainted with chaos as smoke and the scent of burning metal filled the air. Frigga had led Jane to a secluded chamber, her senses sharp and focused, ready for the inevitable confrontation. Her grip on her sword was firm, her expression unreadable as she mentally calculated their odds. Outside, the echoes of battle grew louder. The Dark Elves moved with calculated precision, their leader relentless in his pursuit. It was only a matter of time before the chamber's doors would be forced open, and the battle would come to them.

Frigga stood in front of Jane, blade drawn. "Listen to me now. I need you to do everything I ask and no questions."

Jane swallowed. "Yes, ma'am."

[The doors burst open, revealing Malekith.]

Frigga's expression remained impassive as she took a defensive stance. "Stand down, creature. You may still survive this."

Malekith sneered. "I have survived worse, woman."

Frigga's grip on her sword tightened. "Who are you?"

"I am Malekith, and I would have what is mine." He took a step forward.

Frigga struck first, slicing a gash across his face. Malekith roared in pain, unsheathing his own blade and lunging at her. They clashed fiercely, Frigga matching his strikes with impressive skill. But then, Algrim appeared, grabbing her from behind.

As Algrim prepared to strike, a surge of red energy blasted him back. Rin stepped from the shadows, her expression sharp. "I was wondering when you'd show up."

Frigga's eyes flicked to her. "I told you to stay back."

"I never said I'd listen."

Malekith snarled. "Another sorceress."

"Gee, you noticed," Rin shot back, summoning another spell.

Before she could attack, a bolt of lightning crashed into Malekith, sending him staggering back. Thor charged into the room, Mjolnir crackling with power.

"You will not touch her!" Thor bellowed.

At the same time, Tony crashed through the window, blasting several Dark Elves mid-air before landing in a perfect superhero pose. "Alright, party's over. Who ordered the dark-and-broody extras?"

Malekith's face twisted in fury, but before he could retaliate, Algrim pulled him back. The two Dark Elves retreated as their ship loomed outside the palace.

Thor rushed to Frigga's side as Rin looked around. "Wait…where's—"

Relief crossed her face as her eyes landed on Frigga, who stood tall and unharmed, her sword still gripped firmly in her hand. Odin arrived a moment later, his gaze sweeping the room before settling on his queen, his relief evident. Frigga met his eyes with a small, knowing smile—she had survived, and thanks to Rin's intervention, remained unscathed.
