Chapter 58: Protecting Sister-in-law
Will Yan Wei be okay? Clearly impossible.
Given Yan Wei's level of care for Yan Qianqian, watching her approach death is an extreme torment.
In the hospital room, Tang Rao pursed his lips, took two steps forward, and approached Yan Qianqian's bedside.
Then he pulled up a stool and sat down.
"Qian Qian, give me your hand," Tang Rao said to Yan Qianqian.
Yan Qianqian and Zhou Boxiong beside her were both taken aback. What was Tang Rao up to?
"Boss Tang, are you even going after Yan Wei's sister now? That's pretty beastly of you!" Zhou Boxiong said to Tang Rao, his expression changing slightly.
"Fat Bear, what do you even have in that head of yours?" Tang Rao gave Zhou Boxiong a look of disdain, no wonder Yan Wei often chokes you, who knows what the hell you think about all day.
"I've learned some traditional Chinese medicine; let's see if I can be of any help," Tang Rao said to Yan Qianqian with a smile.
Tang Rao could only claim to know traditional Chinese medicine; could he really say he knew Immortal Technique? He guessed that would make Yan Qianqian think he was crazy.
"Okay!" After a moment of surprise, Yan Qianqian extended her arm.
Yan Qianqian's arm was very thin, her bones somewhat protruding, and her skin very dry.
Tang Rao extended his index and middle fingers, touching Yan Qianqian's wrist.
A stream of Spiritual Energy flowed from Tang Rao's fingertips, cautiously entering Yan Qianqian's body.
"Indeed, it's quite severe." Based on the feedback from the Spiritual Energy, Tang Rao's brow furrowed.
Yan Qianqian's body was in worse shape than he had imagined. Perhaps, when the doctor said two months, that was already being generous.
Her internal organs were diseased, and it was hard to imagine how Yan Qianqian could still manage a smile while enduring such intense pain.
"Tang Rao brother, how is it?" Yan Qianqian asked, looking at Tang Rao.
Tang Rao looked at Yan Qianqian, withdrew his hand, and revealed a smile.
"Quite good, just make sure to rest more. It's nothing serious," Tang Rao comforted her with a few words. He certainly couldn't say, your organs are almost gone, you won't last much longer, you're going to croak... that would be too hurtful.
"Really? When I get better, I want to travel around the world to see the beautiful sights!" Yan Qianqian started smiling, like a dazzling little sun.
Creak...
The door to the hospital room opened, and Yan Wei walked in, his face still wearing a smile.
However, from Yan Wei's smile, Tang Rao could clearly see despair and helplessness.
"Brother, just now, Tang Rao brother took my pulse! He said I'll be all right as long as I rest more!" Yan Qianqian told Yan Wei.
Yan Wei looked at Tang Rao.
"Yes, Qian Qian will get better," Yan Wei nodded, his glum face becoming even more apparent.
"Yan Wei, do you have paper and pen?" Tang Rao suddenly asked.
Yan Wei was a bit startled, but still opened the bedside table and took out a pen and several pieces of paper.
The papers had records of medicine prices and such on them.
After receiving the paper and pen, Tang Rao began to draw.
Golden Head Grass, Boundless Vine, Evil Eye Tears, Green Demon Fruit, Earth Grass Moth.
After finishing the drawings, Tang Rao started writing notes—color, general shape and habits, and even included picking instructions all written down.
These five items were the basic ingredients for concocting Foundation Establishment pills, and as for the most important Life Spirit Flower, Tang Rao already knew what it was, so there was no need to actively search for it.
If a Foundation Establishment Pill could be concocted, perhaps, Yan Qianqian might be saved.
"Find these items within a month," Tang Rao handed the paper to Yan Wei.
Yan Wei was somewhat puzzled.
Tang Rao pointed at Yan Qianqian, then smiled and said, "Don't forget, I'm a master at opening the Qi Mansion."
Yan Wei was shocked, a burst of limitless light shining in his eyes.
He completely understood Tang Rao's intention – as long as he could gather those five items within a month, Tang Rao would be able to bring Qian Qian back.
"Tang Rao..."
"Got it, haven't I said it before? Your sister is my sister," Tang Rao interrupted Yan Wei.
"Thank you." Yan Wei was earnest, "If it's a success, I'll owe you my life."
"Shit…" Tang Rao flipped Yan Wei the middle finger, "Can we still even be brothers?"
...
Around three in the afternoon, Tang Rao and the other two left the hospital, agreeing to go have some fun.
"Hehe, Boss Tang, where are we headed to have fun?" Zhou Boxiong asked, "Somewhere with girls would be best..."
Yan Wei gave Zhou Boxiong a look; this fatso only ever thought about girls...
"Don't know, you tell me." Tang Rao left the decision to Zhou Boxiong, who was more familiar with the fun spots around the school than he was.
"Bright Moon City!" Zhou Boxiong shouted out.
Tang Rao looked at Yan Wei.
"Bright Moon City, it's expensive, but the place is alright. Just don't expect me to pay; I'm broke..." Yan Wei looked completely nonchalant.
Tang Rao's assurance to save Qian Qian had eased Yan Wei's mind quite a bit.
"Okay, let's go there!" Tang Rao naturally had nothing to refuse.
He couldn't possibly be unable to afford it, right?
The traffic wasn't too bad at this time; it took them roughly forty minutes to reach Bright Moon City near Sui City University.
Bright Moon City was an entertainment complex with various services and recreational facilities.
There were many students gathered there, as it was the end of the term and graduation time.
Although the consumption at Bright Moon City was a bit high, Sui City University certainly didn't lack students with money.
"Boss Tang, let's start with a massage!" Zhou Boxiong suggested, "It'll be amazing to have the girls press down on us after the exams."
Tang Rao and Yan Wei both rolled their eyes; this animal Fat Bear just couldn't stay away from the girls.
"Forget the massage, let's go for a steam bath," Tang Rao suggested, pointing to a large sauna.
"Tsks tsks tsks, you think I'm blind, Boss Tang…" Zhou Boxiong looked scornful, "Just look over there – my God, who's that, isn't that our sister-in-law?"
Yan Wei, standing beside him, gave a start and looked in the direction Zhou Boxiong pointed.
Outside the sauna, a line of college students jostled their way in, amongst whom was Jiang Langhuan.
As for Jiang Langyue, it was unclear why she was absent.
These two sisters were usually inseparable; same major, same class, same dormitory.
Basically, Jiang Langyue acted as Jiang Langhuan's bodyguard.
With Jiang Langyue's fierce temperament, no guy causing trouble stood a chance – they would just be signing their own death warrant.
But without Jiang Langyue by her side, Jiang Langhuan was like a little white lamb.
And there she was, being half-pushed and half-shoved into the sauna by some male classmates.
"Enough chatter, are we going or not!" Tang Rao rolled his eyes as he spoke.
"Of course, we're going. Protecting our sister-in-law is our duty!" Zhou Boxiong was full of righteousness.
Both Tang Rao and Yan Wei showed disdain and condemnation for Zhou Boxiong's so-called righteousness.
A guy always fantasizing about girls and treasure swords, they really didn't know from which corner that righteousness had randomly sprung.
"Let's go!" Zhou Boxiong energetically led the way ahead, following Jiang Langhuan and her entourage into the sauna.
Jiang Langhuan's group of classmates seemed to have made a reservation in advance, and without any need to register, they headed straight for the second-floor sauna area.
