The Pokémon:Isekai

Chapter 36: Vs Gyarados

Oddy and Aria stood on the floating pad, their breaths steady but their bodies tense. Ahead of them, a paralyzed Starmie twitched slightly, its gem flickering weakly, while Gyarados loomed in the water, its crimson eyes locked onto them like a predator sizing up its prey.

My mind raced. Aria was still in good shape, but Oddy had taken a solid hit. Across from me, Misty didn't seem fazed at all. In fact, she had the audacity to wave at me.

"Hey, Alex Carter! Didn't you say you were going to beat me?" she called, her voice laced with playful confidence.

I ignored the taunt, trying to think of a way out of this. I had to regroup.

"Aria, Teleport Oddy next to me!"

She nodded, grabbing onto Oddy's arm before vanishing in a flicker of violet light. A moment later, they reappeared on the pad right in front of me.

Misty smirked. "Are you giving up?"

I shot her a glare. "In your dreams!"

She laughed, then flicked her wrist dramatically. "Gyarados, Waterfall! Starmie, Water Gun!"

The moment the command left her lips, Gyarados surged forward, its massive form carving through the water like a torpedo, while Starmie aimed a pressurized jet of water toward Aria and Oddy.

I had to act fast.

"Aria, buy us some time! Use Double Team and Teleport!"

Aria nodded then dashed across the floating pads, her form splitting into shimmering clones that zigzagged in different directions. Starmie's Water Gun cut through one of the illusions, dispersing it in a misty blur, while Gyarados plowed through another with a crashing wave. The real Aria teleported just in time, narrowly avoiding the brunt of their attacks.

I reached into my pocket, pulling out the potion the girl had given me earlier. Quickly, I sprayed it over Oddy's wounds, watching as his tired expression brightened slightly.

Misty crossed her arms, watching me with a knowing smile. "So, what's your plan now, Alex?"

I bit my thumb, muttering under my breath. What can I do? Can I use something outside the battle? No,people who are watching can get hurt... Should I try riding my jet ski over Gyarados? No, I'd get thrown off immediately… Think, think…!

"Gyarados, Whirlpool!" Misty suddenly shouted.

The massive sea serpent dipped beneath the surface, and within seconds, the water surrounding Aria and her clones began spiraling downward. The once-stable pads shifted, tilting dangerously as they were pulled into the vortex.

"Aria, Teleport! Get away from there!"

One of the Arias nodded before vanishing. The others followed a second later.

Misty's eyes gleamed.

"There! Starmie, Confusion! Then follow up with Rapid Spin!"

Starmie's central gem pulsed with psychic energy before unleashing a barrage of shimmering beams. The real Aria who teleported first flinched as the attack connected, her small body sent skidding across the pad. Before she could recover, Starmie launched itself into a spinning assault, closing the distance fast.

My heart pounded.

I had to turn this around with oddy.

Oddy let out a determined cry as I gave him a reassuring pat on the back.

"Oddy, use Snarl!"

A deep, guttural sound rumbled from Oddy's throat or throats as dark-purple shockwaves pulsed outward, distorting the air around him. The attack hit Starmie mid-spin, its rapid rotation stuttering before coming to a complete halt. The already sluggish Water-type trembled, its gem flickering erratically from the impact.

Misty, however, remained composed.

"Gyarados, Whirlpool! Then Follow up with Waterfall! Starmie, get in the water and shake off that paralysis!"

With a graceful motion, Starmie let itself sink into the pool, its limbs twitching slightly before the lingering Stun Spore faded away. The second it recovered, it shot back out of the water, landing on a pad with a renewed glow in its gem.

That one advantage gone.

"Oddy, Leech Seed on Starmie! Then get off that pad—now!"

Oddy spat out a cluster of glowing green seeds that latched onto Starmie's body, vines sprouting instantly and coiling around its sleek form. But before Oddy could escape, the water beneath him churned violently.

Gyarados had finished preparing Whirlpool.

The water twisted into a spiraling vortex around the pad, sucking Oddy toward its center with relentless force. His stubby legs struggled to keep traction as the pad tilted wildly.

"Jump! Now!" I shouted.

Oddy leaped just as the pad flipped completely, disappearing into the vortex. He landed on the adjacent pad, breathing heavily, his mouths slick with moisture.

Misty smirked. "Starmie, Confusion! Gyarados now use the Waterfall!"

Starmie shot forward in a spinning blur, vines from Leech Seed dragging behind it like whips. Meanwhile, Gyarados reared back, then launched itself into the air, its entire massive body arcing above the battlefield, water cascading from its scales like a living tidal wave.

I clenched my fists. If both attacks landed, Oddy was done for.

"Oddy, Giga Drain! But aim down at the pad!"

Oddy let out a fierce cry, sending a pulse of green energy into the pad beneath his feet. The force of the attack propelled him backward just as Confusion barreled through where he had been, its attack ripping the pad apart on impact. At the same time, Gyarados crashed down, its Waterfall colliding with the shattered pad, sending water exploding into the air like a geyser.

Oddy barely landed on another pad, panting. That was way too close but he was getting healed with each second.

But Starmie wasn't looking great either. The Leech Seed had started to take effect, glowing tendrils wrapping tighter around its body, draining its energy. The once-steady glow of its gem now flickered erratically.

Misty narrowed her eyes. She knew she had to end this before Starmie got too weak.

"Starmie, Water Gun! Gyarados, prepare a Bite!"

A jet of water shot toward Oddy, but I was ready.

"Oddy, dodge and Giga Drain!"

Oddy rolled to the side, avoiding the blast before releasing thick green energy waves from his body. They lashed forward, wrapping around Starmie's frame. Starmie struggled, its limbs jerking wildly as glowing energy drained from its core and flowed into Oddy.

Misty's eyes widened. "Starmie, Rapid Spin! Break free!"

Starmie tried to spin, but the Leech Seed restricted its movement just enough. The spinning was sluggish, uncoordinated.(I know that normally Rapid Spin Gets rid of the Leech seeds but for the plot please ignore this)

"Finish it! Giga Drain!"

Oddy let out a roar as the energy pulsed again, sucking the last remnants of energy from Starmie's body. Its gem flashed once before dimming completely, and the Water-type collapsed onto the pad, motionless.

The judge raised his hand. "Starmie is unable to battle!"

I exhaled in relief. One down.

But my victory was short-lived.

A deafening roar filled the stadium as Gyarados, still very much in the fight, narrowed its blood-red eyes on Oddy. Its massive jaws parted, revealing rows of razor-sharp fangs.

"Gyarados, Bite!"

Before Oddy could react, the monstrous serpent lunged.

And Oddy had nowhere left to run.

Oddy turned just in time to see the massive blue Water Dragon lunging toward him, its fangs bared with clear intent. For a brief moment, he froze in place, the sheer size of his opponent overwhelming him.

Aria, Hex—now!"

With a burst of ghostly energy, Aria's attack struck Gyarados mid-lunge, a wave of eerie, ghostly light engulfing the sea serpent. Gyarados let out a guttural roar before the force sent it crashing into the depths of the pool, sending water splashing high into the air. Oddy whipped his head around to stare at us, panting heavily with its little body.

I smirked, stretching out my arms in victory. "Now! What was that about me not winning? Since ı just did!"

Misty, arms crossed, let out an annoyed huff before her lips curled into a mischievous grin. "Who said this was over?"

Before I could respond, she thrust her hand forward. "Gyarados, use Hurricane!"

The moment she commanded the attack, the air around us grew heavy, almost suffocating. A powerful gust swirled in the center of the pool, water whipping into the air as an ominous vortex began to form. The whirlwinds spiraled rapidly, growing stronger by the second, pulling debris from the battlefield into its growing storm.

Misty stood across from me, laughing maniacally, the stadium lights reflecting in her eyes.

The announcer's voice cracked through the speakers, filled with urgency.

"Dear viewers, for your safety, please evacuate the arena immediately! This is not a drill,Please evacute the GYM!"

The audience didn't hesitate. People scrambled out of their seats, rushing for the exits as the massive winds intensified. The Hurricane forming above the water grew stronger.

Oddy and Aria made their way back to me, their eyes locked on my face, waiting for a command. They trusted me to come up with a plan.

I exhaled sharply, clenching my fists. "I have an idea... but it's going to hurt either us or that fish really bad!"

They exchanged a glance before looking back at me with unwavering determination. Their morale was sky-high despite the looming chaos.

"Aria, you stay next to me and use Double Team—as many clones as you can make!"

Aria nodded and immediately got to work, her body flickering as identical copies of her began multiplying around me like a shimmering mirage.

I turned to Oddy, laying out the second part of the plan. As I finished explaining, his expression twisted in mild annoyance, but he still nodded. He understood.

Before I could signal the start, a loud voice called out from the side of the stage.

"ALEX! YOU BETTER WIN THIS!"

I turned to see Skyla standing there, her blue hair flowing under her black coat, a Rotom hovering at her side.

["ALEX CARTER,YOU CAN DEFEAT THAT OVERGROWN FISH!"] Rotom buzzed, its electric form flickering wildly.

I let out a short chuckle, giving Skyla and Rotomdex a thumbs-up as Skyla disappeared into the crowd. Rotom lingered for a moment, its gaze fixed on the growing storm before it, too, zipped away.

I turned back to my Pokémon, heart pounding. "Alright. Let's do this. Oddy—let's start!"

With a battle cry, Oddy sprinted toward the storm, his small feet barely keeping balance on the floating pads. Each step splashed water, but he didn't slow down.

Then, with one powerful leap, he threw himself directly into the raging Hurricane.

"ODDY, NOW—START THE SHOW!"

Aria and her clones let out a cry with me as ı shouted together with them in unison as Oddy was swallowed by the raging winds. He spun wildly inside the vortex, his body being cut left and right by the relentless force, but he didn't stop.

Then, through the storm, I saw it—his mouths opening.

Dark purple petals scattered in the wind before he released a thick, glowing Stun Spore. The golden dust spiraled outward, twisting into the hurricane's force. Little by little, the entire vortex turned yellow, the spores blending into the storm like fireflies caught in a tornado.

Misty's triumphant grin faltered slightly.

The hurricane had become a trap.

I smirked. "Good job, Oddy! Keep it up! Aria—dive in and Teleport to that overgrown fish!"

One by one, Aria's clones sprinted toward the pool, diving into the water. As they entered, they vanished—teleporting deeper, searching for Gyarados beneath the surface.

Misty narrowed her eyes. "Gyarados, don't let them near you! Keep Hurricane up!"

But she had missed the bigger problem.

We just had to wait.

A little longer… just a little…

I locked my eyes on the swirling yellow storm, waiting for that single moment.

The moment when Stun Spore would finally take effect.

The moment Gyarados would freeze—

—just long enough to end this fucking GYM battle.

Beneath the surface, Gyarados roared, its monstrous voice vibrating through the water as it fueled the hurricane above. The powerful storm raged, spiraling upward from its massive jaws, tearing through the air. But then—its movements started to slow.

The paralysis was taking effect.

Gyarados's body twitched as the Stun Spore Oddy had released earlier finally sank into its system. A sharp jolt of electricity crackled along its scales, locking its muscles for a fraction of a second.

Above, the storm lost its momentum. The winds weakened. The swirling vortex began to collapse.

And then, with nothing left to hold him up—Oddy fell.

"Oddy, keep going!" I shouted as he plunged into the water, vanishing beneath the rippling surface.

Almost instantly, one of Aria's copies appeared beside him, the Ralts placing a small hand on Oddy's back before Teleporting him to the others. Below the waves, dozens of Aria clones circled Gyarados like shadows, their bright eyes glowing in the deep blue.

This was it.

I turned my gaze back to Misty, a confident smirk stretching across my face as I pointed downward with my index finger. "Hey, Misty, do you know what happens when a paralyzed Gyarados gets hit by countless Hexes and one Giga Drain?"

Misty's expression shifted. The smugness drained from her face, replaced by realization—and then panic.

The water beneath us began to glow.

It started as a deep violet, then flashed red, blue, green—every color imaginable. The sight even caught me off guard for a moment. There was not only the color of hexes. Something else also happened down there. But I masked my surprise, keeping my confident stance.

The light pulsed brighter, reflecting in Misty's wide eyes.

I grinned. "Kaboom."

A sudden tremor rocked the battlefield. The entire pool seemed to shake as an explosion of energy erupted from below.

And then—Gyarados shot out of the water.

Its massive body soared through the air, completely limp. Water streamed off its scales as it arced over the battlefield before crashing onto the platform behind Misty with a deafening thud.

Silence.

Then—

A single voice broke through the stunned quiet.

Mr. Will Peterson, who had been hiding during the chaos, stumbled out of cover, hurriedly adjusting his glasses with shaky hands.

"T-The Gyarados is unable to battle! ALEX CARTER WINS THE GYM CHALLENGE!"

The moment his words echoed through the arena, a wave of cheers erupted from outside. Even from where I stood, I could hear the crowd's excitement, their voices carrying through the open air.

Victory.

I took a deep breath, my heart still pounding from the battle. But as I stepped off my Jet Ski, something else crossed my mind.

Wait... I forget that there were Jet Skis.

I blinked, looking at the vehicle beneath me before sighing in realization.

I didn't even use it once... I wonder why they even put these in here

(Im sorry by the time ı finished the chapter ı forget that ı put these Jet-Skis)
