The Pokémon:Isekai

Chapter 40: The Rage

Aria sent out a Draining Kiss, the pink energy swirling around her as it struck the man who had his hand clamped over the child's mouth. He was slammed back into a tree, groaning in pain as he cursed under his breath. Gritting his teeth, he swung a desperate punch at Aria—only for his fist to pass right through her ghostly form. His eyes widened in shock, but he had no time to process what had happened before Aria prepared another attack and hit him with a punch.

Meanwhile, Oddy released a burst of Stun Spore toward the second man. The yellow powder scattered through the air, but the man quickly covered himself with his suit jacket, shielding his face. However, he had no defense against Oddy's next move—Headbutt(Oddy just used his head here. Its not a magical move) The impact sent him stumbling backward, grunting as his back hit a Tree.

"Where the fuck did these two come from?!" the first man growled, his voice laced with both pain and frustration.

With no other choice, he reached for his Pokéball, clicking the button to enlarge it before tossing it forward.

The second man managed to do the same. He gritted his teeth as he shoved Oddy away with his bare hands before pulling out his own Pokéball.

The Balls snapped open with a flash of light, releasing two unnatural-looking birds.

One was a Pidgeotto, but unlike any I had seen before. Its wings dripped with a dark, viscous poison, each drop sizzling as it hit the grass, leaving behind rotting patches. Its feathers were an unnatural mix of purple and yellow, as if its body had been warped by toxins.

The other was a Fearow, but something was off—it didn't look alive. Its form flickered, transparent like Aria's, its entire body a swirling shadowy mass with piercing red eyes. A chilling aura radiated from it, sending a shiver down my spine.

Both Pokémon let out eerie, distorted cries, their voices filled with something more than just aggression. Pain.

"Adapted Pokémon..." I murmured, gripping the rough bark of the tree I was hiding behind.

Oddy and Aria instinctively took a step back, recognizing the unnatural power of their opponents. The man with the Kadabra hesitated for a moment, before clipping the Kadabra to his belt.

"No! Let Kadabra go!!" the child cried, struggling against the other man's grip.

"Shut up, kid! Once I get rid of these pests, I'll deal with you too!" growled the man Oddy had headbutted. He pressed a hand against his forehead, blood dripping between his fingers, his rage barely contained.

Aria and Oddy exchanged a knowing look—a silent agreement. Without hesitation, they got into battle-ready stances.

"Pidgeotto, use Cross Poison on that Gloom!" the first man barked, pushing himself up from the ground.

"Fearow, use Shadow Sneak!" the other commanded, adjusting his purple mask as he spoke.

Fearow melted into its own shadow, vanishing instantly. A dark blur slithered across the ground, darting toward Aria from behind.

Pidgeotto spread its toxic wings wide, the poison intensifying into a sharp, bladed edge. With a shriek, it launched itself at Oddy in a deadly dive.

I didn't hesitate.

"Aria, use Double Team, then follow up with Hex!"

"Oddy, use Snarl and use Leech Seed right away!"

As I shouted my commands, I dashed from behind the tree, running toward the child, my heart pounding as I prepared to get him away from these lunatics.

"Where the hell are you, you motherfucker!? Show yourself!" one of the men roared, scanning the area frantically.

Meanwhile, the battle raged on.

Aria's illusion shimmered in place, a perfect decoy that fooled the Fearow. With a piercing shriek, the ghostly bird plunged its beak into the ground, expecting to strike Aria—only to hit nothing but dirt. Its cry of frustration was cut short as glowing purple runes flared to life around it. Aria's Hex attack ignited the ghostly energy, sending a wave of ghostly force crashing into Fearow, making it screech in agony.

Oddy, meanwhile, braced himself as the poisonous Pidgeotto hurtled toward him at full speed. He stood his ground, waiting—watching—until the last possible second.

Then the impact came.

Pidgeotto's venomous wings slammed into Oddy's small body, knocking the air from his body. He stumbled back but refused to fall. Instead, he focused on the bird, using the mouth-like appendages on his petals to latch onto its body, keeping it from retreating.

Then he struck back.

Oddy let out a deep, guttural Snarl, unleashing a soundwave straight into Pidgeotto's ear. The bird screeched in pain, thrashing wildly, its flight patterns growing unstable. In the chaos, Oddy's secondary attack kicked in—Leech Seed. The small, parasitic seeds latched onto Pidgeotto's body, their tendrils quickly digging in, sapping its energy little by little.

With one final burst of strength, Oddy heaved the Pidgeotto away, throwing it toward the masked man. The bird barely managed to stay airborne, its wings trembling.

But the men were too distracted.

Their focus was on me.

I had stayed hidden, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. And now, it was here.

Silently, I reached down, fingers curling around a small rock from the dirt. Without hesitation, I hurled it across the clearing, sending it bouncing loudly in the opposite direction.

"There! Over there!" the injured man barked, blood still dripping from the gash on his forehead. Without a second thought, he dashed toward the sound, his back turned.

That was my chance.

"Now."

I shot up from my hiding place, sprinting toward the other man before he could react. His head barely started to turn when—

CRACK!

I drove my fist upward in a brutal uppercut, putting everything I had into the punch.

The man stumbled back, clutching his bruised jaw, while the child stared at me with wide eyes, awe-struck.

But the moment was cut short.

"Pidgeotto, use Brave Bird on that bastard!" the masked man roared.

Pidgeotto, already teetering on the brink of unconsciousness, took a deep breath, flapping its venom-coated wings as it ascended high above the treetops. The moonlight caught its ragged feathers, dripping poison onto the battlefield below.

Then it dived.

A spiraling comet of purple and blue flames, streaking toward me like a guided missile.

I looked around desperately—Aria was still locked in battle, ruthlessly pummeling the ghostly Fearow, her eyes dull with rage. Oddy wasn't in great shape either—his small body trembled from the full-force Cross Poison he had endured. There was no one left to save me.

I clenched my fists. I wasn't fast enough to dodge.

So I braced for impact and Closed my eyes.

Then—

A blinding flash of golden light.

A beast materialized in front of me.

The world seemed to freeze.

A Nidoking—towering, armored in yellow plating, muscles bulging with raw power—took the full force of Pidgeotto's Brave Bird.

And didn't even flinch.

The impact should've at least staggered him—but instead, he stood there, motionless, absorbing the hit like it was nothing more than a breeze. His chest expanded as he let out a slow, deep inhale.

Then—

He roared.

A deafening, primal sound that sent chills racing down my spine.

The masked men went rigid. Their eyes widened—not in shock, but in recognition.

The Nidoking's yellow eyes glowed—bright, wild, untamed. But as they locked onto the two men, the glow shifted.

Yellow turned to red.

Pure, unfiltered rage.

I felt my knees weaken. My breathing hitched.

Then, from behind me—

"Alex!"

Skyla.

I turned, just as she and Rotom finally caught up, panting from the chase.

But I barely registered them.

Because my body had already collapsed backward onto the dirt.

The injured man—blood slowly but still trickling from his forehead—let out a breathless chuckle, then threw his head back in a full, manic laugh.

"HAHAHAHA! Looks like it was destined for us to meet again!"

The other man smirked, adjusting his mask. "Experiment #99... also known as 'Destroyer.' I thought that was the last time I'd ever see you, after you slaughtered every last scientist in that lab!"

Slaughtered.

My breath caught in my throat.

Nidoking's fists clenched. A crackling charge built around one hand—lightning dancing between his knuckles. The other hand dripped with a thick, venomous ooze.

The masked men didn't even hesitate.

They recalled their Pidgeotto and Fearow, their battered Pokémon vanishing into red light, before immediately reaching for Ultra Balls.

"Go, Feraligatr!"

"Go, Golem!"

Twin flashes of light.

This time, normal Pokémon emerged—not twisted, mutated creatures, but ordinary, battle-hardened Pokémon.

The ground shook as Golem landed heavily, slamming its rocky fists together. Feraligatr let out a feral snarl, baring its serrated fangs.

Skyla, still catching her breath, turned to Rotom. "Rotom, what moves does that Nidoking know?"

I had just finished untying the kid's bindings when he grabbed my arm.

"Please! Help Kadabra too!"

I taked a look at the man and three battle ready beasts in front of me before looking back at the kid.

"I will do my best!" I said trying to calm him.

Then Rotom spoke.

[Miss Skyla, it doesn't matter if you know Nidoking's moves. He won't listen to you.]

The words hung in the air like a death sentence.

And then—the battle exploded into motion.

With a guttural roar, Nidoking lunged.

The masked men reacted instantly.

"Feraligatr, use Liquidation!"

"Golem, use Bulldoze!"

The battlefield erupted.

Golem stomped the earth, sending a violent tremor rippling outward. The ground cracked beneath Nidoking's feet as he jumped to air.

At the same time, Feraligatr leaped forward, its claws wreathed in swirling, blade-like water.

Nidoking didn't dodge.

Didn't defend.

He simply also swung his hand.

With a bone-crushing THUNDER PUNCH, Nidoking's fist collided with Feraligatr's face.

The impact sent a shockwave through the battlefield.

Feraligatr took the full force of Thunder Punch to the jaw, its massive body slamming into the ground with an earth-shaking thud. The impact carved a trench into the dirt as it skidded back, leaving a trail of torn-up earth in its wake.

But Feraligatr was nothing if not resilient.

With a guttural snarl, it dug its claws into the ground and pushed itself back up, shaking off the dizziness as sparks of residual electricity crackled across its blue scales.

Nidoking let out a thunderous roar, his muscles tensing with barely restrained rage before he charged forward, his left fist coated in a venomous, pulsating glow—Poison Jab.

The masked man reacted instantly.

"Golem, Stone Edge! Protect that blue lizard!"

Golem slammed its fists into the ground, and in an instant, jagged spires of stone erupted from the ground, spinning wildly before hurling themselves toward Nidoking like bullets.

The biggest rock collided with Nidoking's gut, making him stagger back from the sheer force of the blow. But even as the stones pummeled him, he didn't stop—his red eyes blazed with fury.

Meanwhile, Skyla was still locked in a heated argument with Rotom.

"Rotom, just tell me already! I don't care if he listens or not! I want to help him!" she demanded, her hands balled into fists as she looked to Rotom, her eyes full of Determination.

Rotom hesitated, then finally relented.

[Fine miss Skyla! He knows Thunder Punch, Poison Jab, Iron Tail, and Brick Break!]

Skyla nodded, about to issue a command, but—

[Wait! There's something weird… He has an ability, but I don't know the name of it!]

That made me freeze.

"An unknown ability… Just like Aria," I murmured, glancing at my Ralts.

She was still standing near where Fearow had collapsed, but her gaze was locked onto the two masked men, her fists clenched. That same burning rage was in her eyes.

Skyla shook her head, snapping back to focus. "Okay, we don't need to know his ability, right? We just need to fight smart!"

Her eyes darted back to Nidoking.

The Stone Edge barrage hadn't stopped, and Nidoking was struggling against the onslaught, smashing the shards with his fists as Feraligatr crouched low, preparing another attack.

Skyla clenched her fists.

"Nidoking! Use Iron Tail on the Stone Edge! Then follow up with Thunder Punch on Feraligatr!" she shouted.

But Rotom immediately interjected—

[He ignored your order!]

I barely had time to register that before Nidoking let out a savage bellow and instead of Iron Tail, he raised his fists and shattered the incoming Stone Edge with Brick Break.

Then, using the momentum, he spun in place and slammed the same Brick Break into Feraligatr's chest.

The impact was loud—like a drum being struck with full force.

But Feraligatr barely flinched.

Instead, it let out a deep, guttural growl before spinning on the spot and clamping its massive jaws onto Nidoking's arm with Crunch.

Then—with a burst of power—it lifted Nidoking into the air.

For a split second, time seemed to slow.

Nidoking roared in mix of pain and rage, struggling, but Feraligatr's grip was like iron.

And then—

With a powerful heave, Feraligatr hurled Nidoking into the sky.

The force sent the massive beast spiraling upward, getting lost in the Blue sky above.
