Chapter 10: The Summoning

The chanting grew louder, the words blending together in a maddening rhythm. Emma felt the air thickening, the very fabric of reality beginning to unravel.

Sarah's eyes flashed with an otherworldly energy as she held the crystal orb aloft. "The Devourer comes!" she screamed, her voice echoing through the twisted landscape.

A blast of energy shot out from the orb, striking Emma with incredible force. She felt herself being lifted off the ground, her body suspended in mid-air.

As she looked around, Emma saw that the cult members were transforming. Their bodies were stretching and contorting, their skin turning a sickly shade of green.

The Master loomed over them, its eyes blazing with an otherworldly power. "The Devourer has come," it growled, its voice like thunder.

Emma felt a presence behind her. She turned to see a massive, tentacled creature emerging from the shadows. Its eyes were black holes of pure malevolence, and Emma knew that she was staring into the face of The Devourer.

The creature's tentacles reached out, wrapping around Emma's body. She felt herself being pulled towards the creature's gaping maw, and she knew that she was about to become its next victim.
