Chapter 497: Chapter 497: Awakened Epics
"What happened? Why are there so many battles breaking out in succession?"
The consecutive eruptions of divine wars, along with the Stellar Orbital Cannon's repeated strikes on divine realms—especially the second shot that led to the fall of the Ocean Goddess—truly alarmed those who had not been paying attention, even waking some who were still slumbering. The fall of a deity, even in the deity-rich world of Erathia, is not a trivial matter.
Moreover, this time it wasn't an unknown minor god who fell, but a medium-strength Ocean Goddess. At the moment of her fall, all the statues in her temples shattered, her priests lost their extraordinary powers and reverted to ordinary beings, left only with bodies tempered by divine power, allowing them to live longer.
In the ocean, in some deep trenches, beings that had entered a state of slumber in the distant past opened their eyes, quietly observing the battlefields without intending to intervene.
In a trench that should have been dark but was instead brilliantly illuminated, a grand and luxurious crystal palace stood. In its center, a dragon with deep blue scales lay on a bed made of vast sea blue gold and high-purity crystals. The dragon, whose form differed from all known dragons, slowly awoke.
"Titans are still as domineering as ever!" The dragon, whose body seemed no larger than an ordinary ancient dragon, lazily opened its eyes. In its deep blue pupils, there seemed to be an endless ocean. On this dragon's head, eight intertwined dragon horns stood out like a crown.
Almost at the same moment the Ocean Goddess fell, in an unknown domain, a world filled with death emerged. Bones covered the ground, and various powerful undead creatures filled it. The master of this death-filled world, shrouded in a gray-black mist of death, slowly opened his eyes.
As his eyes opened, this long-dark world was suddenly illuminated. Two bright suns appeared in the sky—his eyes. When these "suns" appeared, all the undead creatures in the world obediently lay down, and the awakened being silently watched the two epic titans fighting without taking any action.
...
In a vast kingdom in the central continent, an emperor who had also been in a state of slumber opened his eyes, feeling the two familiar auras. After a moment of contemplation, his epic blood energy exploded, shaking the sky and turning the clouds golden, clearly stating his stance.
...
In the Boundless Heavenly Realm, in a radiant city, a girl with ten wings burning with seraphic flames looked at the young man in front of her, her face calm as she casually asked, "Grandfather, shouldn't we, as allies of the titans, show our stance?"
"Of course we should, but not yet," replied the seraph with twelve wings seemingly made of endless light. He looked at the three light mirrors before him, showing the battles of the Ancient Prison Warden and the Savage Lord. The third mirror displayed the scene of the Fox Emperor crushing divine avatars.
The seraph, possessing epic power, and his most outstanding bloodline descendant focused on the third mirror, or more precisely, on the young hybrid titan seated cross-legged and observing the show, whose presence was weak compared to the Fox Emperor.
...
In the skies above the Titan's territory, another epic titan awakened almost simultaneously with the Ancient Prison Warden, releasing his aura to warn others against meddling in this titan's reckoning war.
In fact, neither the newly awakened Ancient Prison Warden nor the now-revealing his aura Fifth Epic Titan, the Ten Sovereigns Lord, knew the details. They didn't understand why their kin were fighting.
But did the cause matter? Absolutely not! They only needed to stand firmly by their kin. As long as they fought, they were in the right, and their fists and weapons could prove it.
...
Kuo Tao, the god of murlocs, Blibdoolpoolp, heavily injured!
Goddess of Torture, Loviatar, fallen!
God of Thieves, Mask, fallen!
All the gods who descended avatars were found by the Savage Lord, paying a terrible price. Only a few gods who decisively abandoned their divine realms escaped.
...
"Blackblood God, Malar!" The Savage Lord, bearing the aura of relentless battle, stepped into the realm of the God of the Hunt. "Let me cut off your head obediently."
"I gained nothing from your descendant," the Blackblood Beast argued, distressed and fearful.
"You acted against him and intended to kill him to seize his source power."
"But I failed. Please spare me, great titan. I am willing to give everything except my life and divinity."
"Be honest and let me kill you. As a god, you still have a chance to resurrect!" the Savage Lord said coldly, having no intention of sparing any god who threatened Muria.
"If you make it too troublesome, I'll destroy all your worshippers in Erathia after killing you."
"No!" the Blackblood God cried out. For gods, death wasn't the end. As long as their name remained and worshippers believed in them, fallen gods could resurrect after some time.
However, if a god died and all their worshippers were wiped out simultaneously, they would be doomed, with no chance of revival.
... After a symbolic struggle, the sky dimmed once more, signifying another god's fall and the silence of another divine realm.
Correspondingly, another divine bloodstain appeared on the Savage Lord Archimonde's blood-stained battle-axe, making it look even more fierce.
Having dealt with most of the gods, Archimonde led his heavily damaged beast legion and the seemingly reduced ancient dragons towards the Abyss for the final reckoning.
