The Seventh Base

Chapter 107: One Must Die_3

It was the Mechanical Police—what were they doing at the Library?

I heard it was because of Avril's death. The police were investigating. Avril had committed suicide by taking medication. Had the Mechanical Police found something new?

Soon, fully armed Mechanical Police arrived at the Library and directly approached Xu Mo, asking, "Are you Xu Mo?"

Xu Mo looked up at them and nodded, "Yes."

"We found that you had frequent contact with Avril recently. She took her life today. Please come with us for an investigation," one of them said.

Xu Mo felt it was somewhat ridiculous. A murderer reporting another murderer, and then the Mechanical Police came to take him away.

Indeed, power can overshadow the truth.

"Have you made a mistake? Avril had a very good relationship with Xu Mo at the Library," someone said.

"It's true that Xu Mo was in contact with Avril, but just contact warrants suspicion and an investigation?"

The surrounding students all stood up and spoke out, many of whom had just learned that Avril was dead.

"It doesn't matter." Xu Mo stood up and said, "Let's go outside."

As he spoke, he stepped forward, and the Mechanical Police followed behind him. A group of them headed toward the Library's exit.

The students of Lucas University followed them out, causing a commotion, especially those from the Library, who swarmed outside.

When Xu Mo got outside the Library, many people had already gathered. A squad of Mechanical Police was stationed there, forming a strong lineup.

Xu Mo scanned the crowd outside and did not find Douglas. He wasn't there.

At that moment, his eyes carried a fierce hostility. Douglas had the audacity to go so far—murdering, not cooling down the situation, instead, he had commanded the Mechanical Police to come and take him away, without any scruples.

Perhaps it wasn't Douglas who directly killed the person, so he simply didn't care, and it couldn't possibly have anything to do with him.

The person was dead, and there was no evidence left.

If nothing unexpected happened, this incident wouldn't even slightly implicate Douglas; thus, he was acting so brazenly, even wanting to use this opportunity to get rid of him completely.

Seeing more and more people gathering, the crowd continuously buzzed with discussion. Xu Mo, having been a librarian for over a year, knew many people and was quite a well-known figure at the school, which caused quite a stir.

Xu Mo, how could he be related to Avril's death?

Just then, Xu Mo stopped walking, and the Mechanical Police behind him pushed him forward.

"Bang."

Suddenly, a burst of Source Power erupted from him, sending two Mechanical Police officers stumbling back. Their expressions changed slightly as those in front raised their weapons at Xu Mo.

Xu Mo's icy gaze met theirs as he asked, "Am I a criminal?"

The Mechanical Police frowned. Xu Mo was not really a criminal, but they could only take him away under the guise of an investigation.

"Not long ago, Avril's boyfriend, Douglas, came to threaten me, telling me to await my death. Then, you arrived—what a coincidence. You're not taking Douglas, who was closely involved with Avril, for an investigation, but you came here instead."

Xu Mo said sarcastically, "A few days ago, Avril told me that Douglas had been violent towards her, and she planned to break up with him. But today, Avril committed suicide by taking medication. Moreover, Avril had told me that Douglas was involved with the actress Clay, who also died by suicide."

"I, Xu Mo, formally accuse Douglas of the Ministry of Defense of murder!"
