The Silent Deity: Saiki Kusuo in Tensura

Chapter 28: The Divine Dance

The battlefield was painted with silence.

The air shimmered like rippling glass as Luminous Valentine, goddess of Ruberios, stepped forward. The glow of her divinity spread out in waves, pressing down like a storm before the thunder. Her heels clicked on the stone, and each step was regal—measured, confident, holy.

Veldora paused, his blade raised above a bloodied and kneeling Hinata. His glowing eyes turned, locking with hers. All movement stopped—soldiers, demons, even the wind seemed to still in awe.

Luminous: "She was misled. Do not strike her down."

Veldora: "And what of the thousands she led to their deaths? The screaming children, the fallen families, the blood she spilled at my gate?"

Luminous walked closer, her aura shining softly like moonlight.

Luminous (firm but gentle): "You've made your point. The world now knows. Let her live. Let your mercy be the final message."

Veldora (coldly): "No, Luminous."

He lowered his blade, pointing it toward her.

Veldora: "No one walks into my kingdom… slaughters my people… and leaves unscathed. I warned all of you. If you're here to protect her… then you fall with her."

A long breath. Luminous's expression changed—not fear, but solemn understanding. She closed her eyes for a heartbeat, then slowly reached behind her and drew her blade: Night Rose, a god-grade sword wrapped in flowing black petals and radiant silver.

Guy Crimson, watching from a far cliff with Velzard, clenched his jaw.

Guy: "…Is she serious? Luminous is powerful, but Veldora's on another level now."

Velzard (narrowing her eyes): "She must know she can't win. She's buying time. Or trying to prove something."

With a burst of light, Luminous dashed forward. Their swords clashed with a sound like cracking thunder. Sparks flew in every direction. Time itself felt like it staggered.

Hakuro, off to the side with arms crossed, couldn't help but grin.

Hakuro (whispering): "Now this... this is swordplay."

Veldora parried with one hand, his movements sharp and precise, perfected through Saiki's psychic downloads of a hundred martial arts films and advanced combat theories. His blade moved like a phantom—calm, calculated, and relentless.

Luminous weaved in and out, slicing high and low with divine precision. Her footwork was graceful, each step like a dance. Her holy energy glimmered with each movement, creating radiant ripples in the air.

She activated Lust, her Unique Skill.

Violet light pulsed from her blade, reaching toward Veldora's chest—Embrace Drain, meant to siphon his life force.

But…

Nothing happened.

The light shattered against his aura like glass.

Luminous (thinking): What? It didn't work?

Veldora grinned.

Veldora: "Nice trick. Sadly... you're far too late for that to work on me."

Luminous twirled away and cast Disintegration—a white beam of pure erasure magic, one of the strongest holy attacks known to exist. It screamed across the battlefield and struck Veldora directly.

Dust exploded.

Silence.

Then the dust cleared—and Veldora stood unbothered, cloak flapping, aura pulsing like a storm contained.

Veldora (casually brushing off his shoulder): "Tingly."

Luminous clenched her jaw. She followed with Holy Ark, calling down celestial light in the shape of a giant sigil, and then Death Blessing, a curse meant to slowly erode even gods.

But nothing worked.

Guy Crimson, arms crossed beside Velzard, let out a slow exhale.

Guy: "This is getting ridiculous."

Velzard: "She's fighting to prove a point… but this is suicide."

Luminous charged, pouring everything into one final flurry—her sword spinning in a complex pattern. Her eyes burned with divine light. She struck high, low, spun, feinted, thrust—a dozen attacks in a blink.

Veldora responded in kind.

His movements were no longer casual.

They were surgical.

His blade met hers perfectly. Every swing parried. Every thrust redirected. His posture remained perfectly upright, confident, unmoved.

He whispered, almost bored:

Veldora: "You have beauty in your blade. But no fury can match the storm."

Then came the moment.

With a sudden, blinding spin, Veldora's sword flashed. He knocked Night Rose out of her grip—sending it clattering across the stone.

Before anyone could scream—

Veldora's blade pierced her chest.

Right through the heart.

Luminous gasped, blood catching in her throat. Her legs gave out as he gently lowered her to the ground.

Gasps echoed across the battlefield.

The Paladins, still watching from the distance, fell to their knees. The remaining Falmuth soldiers froze, eyes wide.

Hinata, still lying weakly nearby, whispered:

Hinata: "L-Lady Luminous…?"

Veldora (coldly): "Let this be remembered. Let the world know… mercy exists only until it's mistaken for weakness."

He turned, blade dripping with divine blood.

Testarossa, floating above with her demon army, smiled darkly.

Guy, watching from afar, shook his head in disbelief.

Guy (low): "The idiot became a true king. No... he became something else."

The world held its breath.

And then the reports came in—swift, sharp, and staggering.

Spies, scouts, informants, and magic-sealed messages flooded the capitals and palaces of the Cardinal World. No one expected this outcome. No one.

The Storm Kingdom, a newly formed realm deep within the once lawless Jura Forest, had just defeated a combined force of 20,000 soldiers from Falmuth, the elite Paladins of Ruberios, Hinata Sakaguchi, and—most shocking of all—Luminous Valentine, the Demon Lord and Goddess of the Holy Church herself.

It wasn't just a battle.

It was an overwhelming massacre.

Inside the grand obsidian halls of the Eastern Empire, Emperor Rudra Nam Ul Nasca stood still, fingers interlocked as he stared into the magic screen that had just faded.

Beside him stood Velgrynd, arms folded, her fiery hair flowing gently in the breeze caused by their floating throne chamber.

General Karion (bowing): "We've confirmed it. Luminous Valentine has fallen in battle. Hinata was defeated. The army of Falmuth was annihilated… It was Veldora. He did it."

Rudra said nothing for a long moment. His face was unreadable.

Velgrynd: "...He held back against us at our last meeting. But now... this—"

She exhaled. "This is not just strength. It's strategy. It's control. It's evolution."

Rudra (finally speaking): "I thought this was his first test... but it wasn't. It was ours."

He turned, the flicker of a grin curling at his lips.

Rudra: "How interesting..."

The doors to the Dwarven King's war chamber slammed open.

Gazel Dwargo stood over a map with his generals when a scout ran in, panting, holding a sealed scroll.

Messenger: "Sire… news from our eyes in the west."

Gazel read it quickly. His eyes widened slightly before narrowing with both awe and caution.

Gazel: "He defeated Luminous... and Hinata?"

Magna, General of the Iron Vanguard: "With all due respect, Sire… should we be worried?"

Gazel (firmly): "No. We should be careful. But not worried."

He tapped the table. "Veldora showed restraint. That battle… it was a lesson."

"To the world."

Elmesia, Empress of the long-lived Elves, was mid-discussion with her scholars when her attendant whispered the news into her ear. Her face slowly turned pale.

Elmesia (softly): "Luminous Valentine… defeated?"

She blinked once, as though confirming she heard correctly.

Scholar Rithaniel: "Impossible. She's a goddess. How—"

Elmesia (interrupting): "He didn't just beat a goddess."

Her voice was barely a whisper now.

"He shattered the illusion of divine authority."

The room fell deathly silent.

At a private table inside the candle-lit hall of the Rosso Family, Granbell Rosso read the report with slow, deliberate eyes.

He didn't speak for a long time.

Then, placing the scroll down with precision, he smirked.

Granbell: "So. The fool dragon became a king... and now the king has become a god."

He turned to his entourage.

Granbell: "And gods... don't make for easy prey."

Fuze, head of Blumund's intelligence and national affairs, slammed his palm on his desk.

Fuze: "I told them. I told them. But no one listens!"

He paced as the city's ministers watched in silence.

Fuze: "Now look! We're talking about a Storm Kingdom that's just obliterated a holy army and humiliated two of the most feared figures in the world."

He spun on his heel.

Fuze: "We need to strengthen our alliance. Triple the envoys. I want ambassadors, trade deals, gifts—everything. Now."

Around the world.....

"Did you hear? The Paladins were wiped out like ants!"

"They say Luminous's heart was pierced by Veldora himself—can you imagine? A dragon killing a goddess!"

"Was it really Veldora? Some whisper it's someone else pulling the strings…"

"No one's seen Testarossa fight... but they say her demon army didn't lose a single soldier…"

"What kind of kingdom fights off a holy crusade… and doesn't lose a single wall?"
