The SSS Legendary Dragon Chose Me On Rebirth

Chapter 123: Skin ball

Suddenly Yoh shouted. "You fool! You can't take my artifacts! They're tied to me and can only be acquired when it's parted from my soul!"

That made Vacuse blink and his eyes suddenly had a gleam. Seeing that, Yoh shivered as he realized that he might have made a mistake.

Vacuse raised his hand and it pulsed with dark energy. "...Rith, I'm going to use the new technique!..."

"Saw!"

The Void energy pooled from his hand, dropping like a waterfall and forming into the shape of a disk, its edges vibrating with severing energy.

Vacuse threw it.

It shot through the air, seeming to cut the wind as it accelerated forward.

Yoh just moved to the side to dodge it and that was when it happened! The Void energy that made up the saw collapsed inward, creating a pulling force that yanked Yoh toward it, where the energy exploded!

The resulting blast sent Yoh sideways, ramming into the wall, cracking it and sending debris falling.

Vacuse took the advantage to advance toward Yoh at incredible speed. In an instant he was in front of him as he was picking himself up from the ground, and his leg came down.

The ground cracked and shattered as Yoh rolled away. He came up with a slashing sword that Vacuse met with his umbrella, slapping the sword away with ease.

Yoh backed away quickly and stared at Vacuse. "You aren't simple."

Vacuse didn't say anything. From what he could see, most of his attacks were not affecting Yoh, and it must be due to the red skin he gained when he ate that jewel-like fruit.

He raised his hand and created his Saw. Four of them spun around him and he immediately sent them toward Yoh. At the same time he followed behind.

Yoh had seen the effect of the saw and he knew he must create distance between them or it would be futile. If he didn't do something like that then he would be pulled toward the explosion!

But instead of running, the Orc lifted his hand. His sword came to life with the power of his Bloodline as ruddy energy surrounded him, and then the tattered cloth warped more tightly around his sword.

Just then, something pulsed around the tattered cloth, like a soft shockwave that spread toward the disk and his surroundings.

Immediately they all became slowed down!

Then Yoh simply cut them down with his sword.

What Vacuse noticed was that, around the blazing sword, a sinister energy covered it. That was what actually cut up the Void energy!

"The artifacts are getting even more interesting!"

"...Finish the fight, Vacuse..." Rith said.

Vacuse nodded.

Kagerou should be done by now.

Vacuse pointed his hand and narrowed his eyes.

Immediately, the space in front of Yoh rippled as something took form. It was a mouth, a snout of serpentine form, filled with countless teeth of dark energy.

Unlike the Void energy, this one had a feel of life. Its scales were dark with a multicolored shine and red eyes shone brightly between eyelashes.

The mouth opened and snapped shut on Yoh, too fast for the Orc to react.

Crunch!

As the jaw came down, it hit the flesh of Yoh. Fangs almost bit through, but the red skin was tough, hard to break through. Yoh was trying his best to crawl away but it was already too late as the snout retreated.

Crunch! Crunch! Crunch!

The sound of bones snapping and flesh tearing echoed through the room from an invisible place. Next came the sound of screaming that was suddenly cut short.

Everyone froze. Be it the diplomatic group or the Orcs, they were all deeply shocked.

The First General sat up and his eyes narrowed as he looked down at the pit.

Even Vacuse shivered slightly. "Abomina Maw."

That was the name of the technique. And Rith had explained it to him like this:

"...In the Void, there are countless creatures that wander about lost in it. In time, their souls would become lost and become one with the Void. Those creatures are subjected to the natural law, authority, domain, and dominion of the Void and its Rulers..."

"...And you, Vacuse. You are one of those Rulers. At least, you are through the Void Dragon. Although you cannot use the full authority to command such creatures, it doesn't mean that you cannot do some things..."

"...In time, when you have enough quality flesh eaten by your Abomina Maw, you will be able to create your own Abomination creatures!..."

Yoh was its first food. The mention of Abomination creatures was something Vacuse was looking forward to. What was more, he felt as if the more he knew about the Void, the more he didn't know at all.

But unlike Vacuse, everyone else was not feeling excitement. Because when they cast their senses out toward the place where the crunching sounds were coming from, they could not feel anything other than empty space.

Silence settled over the hall.

Broken only by the crunching sound and one of the Elders breathing hard.

The First General looked on with expressionless eyes.

Vacuse ignored them as he pointed to the space in front of him that rippled. A snout appeared and some things fell down. The first thing was the skin ball, then the sword warped in tattered cloth.

He went to pick up the ball, casting his senses into it. He immediately felt its intent. He nodded to himself and bit his finger, smearing blood on the skin ball.

The ball trembled and Vacuse could immediately sense that it was linked to him. While everyone watched, he did the same to the tattered cloth. Only then did he straighten.

He put the ball and the tattered cloth into his ring and then he thought about their functions.

The tattered cloth was called Ashen Wrap and the skin ball was called Meatheart.

Of the two, although the Ashen Wrap was impressive, what Vacuse was most interested in was the Meatheart. It was a type of artifact that could be upgraded depending on how one went about it.
