MTLNOVEL Chapter 132: As you say High Chief
He started to flee, but a red lightning shot down, wrapped around him unceremoniously, and drained him, leaving him as a husk on the ground.
Ragna Warbine, former Warbine heir, was killed without any fanfare. He was dead, just like that.
The projection turned to Vacuse next, and from those cold merciless eyes, Vacuse saw a flicker of doubt as if the First General was considering killing him.
But then he looked away, and the next instant, the image shattered.
Vacuse released a sigh he didn't even know he was holding. "That damned First General..."
Immediately, things began calming down. Even though the fighting hadn't lasted more than a few minutes, the hole in the ground remained, but the Titled Monster flesh that had been trying to emerge was already back underground.
Everywhere was still crawling with red writing.
The High Chief nodded. Without even looking at Ragna's husk, he made sure that the Valka wasn't harmed. Then he spoke, and his voice echoed throughout the whole fortress, stopping the tide of warriors who had rushed to the hall when they heard the sounds of fighting.
"This is the High Chief! From now until I say otherwise, the fortress is on lockdown, and no one is to leave or enter without my personal permission!"
The fact that the warriors heard the voice of their High Chief, who had been on his deathbed, shocked them to the core. They fell to their knees, and the voices of thousands of Orcs shook the ground as they shouted.

The High Chief smiled with a pleased expression. "First General, you must manage this situation so that the other Clans won't know too much of what happened here, especially the level of..."
He suddenly paused and turned to the humans. His eyes landed on Vacuse. "You..."
Vacuse swallowed, then smiled, but he didn't say anything.
"Take the humans to their room," the High Chief commanded.
Vacuse clasped his hands. "Thank you. But I'm going to need to borrow your warriors to finish my business. I hope you don't mind."
The High Chief did not mind.
Lyra was arrested together with the traitors and slapped with energy-restraining shackles. Then they were all thrown into prison, while Vacuse and the others retired to their wing.
Food and drinks were provided as things calmed down after that.

Much later, in the night, Kagerou returned.
"How were things?" Vacuse asked immediately when he felt him nearby.
Vacuse was with Harkon in the room, sitting cross-legged. He had been doing some visual training with Rith when he suddenly heard the door open without anyone there, and then he felt the presence.
Harkon looked up from his place, his face hardening when he saw Kagerou suddenly appear from thin air.
Kagerou smiled. "It went smoothly. In fact, I think they must believe that Ragna was behind it, and now they've started a secret low investigation."
Vacuse smiled.
Since his return to life, there were only a few people he could count on to handle things, and Kagerou was one of them. He was the one Vacuse had given the healing potions—taken from the Head Healer—to heal the High Chief.
And now, he had just completed something incredibly dangerous and important.
Kagerou gave him the ring, and Vacuse's eyes widened when he touched it. The ring was now filled with an incredible wave of power, but even Vacuse couldn't see what was inside, as Kagerou had used the concealment power of the Ashen Wrap to cover it.
Vacuse put the ring back on and sighed.
Kagerou gave Harkon a sly look, then sat across from Vacuse. "What do you think is going to happen now? After everything that happened...how did you know how to heal the High Chief? And that Ragna was not his real son?"
Vacuse smiled softly but didn't answer right away. When he finally did, he ignored some of the questions. "Things have changed. My belief is that this Fortress was built to put pressure on us, but it was also made to hide things from the other High Clans.
"What Ragna wanted to give the Black Accord, and that power the First General used, were things of incredible danger and power. Artifacts that could be used for war. They are War Artifacts that can target things from miles away. Clans, Houses, or any organization that doesn't have one are not recognized as powerful enough, because a War Artifact can directly destroy a large portion of an enemy's stronghold.
"We Vorrakyn had one in the past, but now we don't. Fortunately, none of the Dukes do either.
"With a War Artifact and a construct, you can directly match some of the other S-rank Soulbearers and put pressure on them.
"What everyone knows is that the Warbines possess the Sword of the Unifier, which can be used as a War Artifact. But now, it seems they had more than that."
His eyes gleamed. "This High Chief is quite ambitious. Just like their First General. War is coming. The Orcs might have a Chief of Chiefs soon."
Kagerou's eyes widened as he understood. "The Warbines are powerful."
Vacuse smiled. "They are, aren't they?"
"My Lord, will the Orcs let us leave this place alive?" It was Harkon who unexpectedly asked the question.
Vacuse frowned. "Yes. They can't hide this. I'm sure the other Clans are already aware of things as they are. What do you think is going to happen next?
"The Warbines must immediately use this chance to declare themselves as the Chief of Chiefs and start a war with the others. They must have allies among the other Clans as well.
"Things are going to get interesting now."
Kagerou took a deep breath. "Vacuse, what does this mean for the Vorrakyn?"
Vacuse's eyes gleamed. "Duke Frexon will learn of what happened here and of Lyra's failure, and he will immediately start a war with us.
"I guess it's going to come down to whether the Orcs will support us or not."
"And if they don't?" Kagerou asked.
Vacuse smiled. "I guess we are going to do interesting things as well."
