Chapter 10: Chapter 10: A New Era
With the defeat of the Celestial Group and the sealing of Hela, Odin seemed to have reached a revelation. He recalled all forces engaged in battles beyond Asgard. Except for the troops stationed across the Nine Realms, all other planets reverted to their original rule.
Asgard was now bustling with life, even the seldom-seen Valkyrie legion mingled with others, enjoying the peace.
"It's going to be a long period of tranquility," Della mused, holding a paintbrush in his palace, finding it hard to adjust to the peace enveloping Asgard.
In the past, Asgard was either engaged in rigorous training or external conflicts. Such a vibrant and lively atmosphere was rare.
Thanks to Della's intervention, Odin remained unscathed and had decisively subdued Hela. The Valkyrie Legion, spared from Hela's wrath, remained a formidable force for Asgard.
"Let's go see my mother," Della decided, stretching as he left his palace. Since Hela's sealing, Goddess Frigga had been in low spirits. Her daughter was confined to Helheim by her husband—a situation that no mother would find comforting.
"Mother," Della called softly, drawing Frigga out of her meditation.
"Della, do you think Asgard's battles over the years have been meaningful?" Frigga asked, caught in a web of uncertainty. As Odin's consort and one of the Nine Realms' finest magicians, Frigga was usually wise and clear-headed.
But now, with Odin recalling the armies and sealing Hela, their former commander, Frigga was left bewildered.
"Mother, Hela's connection to Asgard accelerated her divine power growth, overshadowing her humanity. Father sealed her in Helheim, hoping she'd master her power away from Asgard. I believe once Hela gains control, she'll regain her senses," Della consoled gently.
Though the process wasn't complete until Odin's demise, Della couldn't help but think of a future Hela who crushed Thor's hammer. The millennia-long seal hadn't improved Hela, but worsened her.
Once freed, she had bathed Asgard in blood.
"When time permits, I'll discuss visiting Hela in Helheim with Father. Take care of yourself," Della advised, seeing Frigga's lingering sadness.
Perhaps only before her children did this queen show her true emotions.
Leaving Frigga's chambers, Della didn't seek out Odin, knowing his father wouldn't allow him into Helheim. Hela's situation had millennia for resolution, so Della wasn't rushing.
Gazing at Asgard's newfound peace, Della felt the urge to explore. Previously, venturing out meant risking warfare's quagmire. Now, a new era had dawned.
Della's strength stood at the universe's forefront. Before Thanos wielded the Infinity Gauntlet, he was already a formidable presence. With such power, Della's long-held plans could now unfold.
"Let's visit Earth first," Della decided, intrigued by Midgard's differences from the Earth he once knew.
He also knew of a slumbering god at Earth's core and that the planet was guarded by the Eternals. As creations of the Celestial Group, the Eternals were quite powerful.
Back in his Star Hall, Della summoned the Zodiac warriors.
As the Lord of the Stars, Della's followers were few but elite. Beyond the 72 constellations, he commanded 108 magic stars and two entities referred to as gods.
He had dispatched them to seek undiscovered dimensions, leaving only Della and two other gods in Asgard.
"These two haven't emerged in a century. Time for them to stretch their legs," Della thought, looking forward to his upcoming journey. For a thousand years, he'd remained in Asgard, honing his skills.
Returning to the Hall of Stars, Della approached the secret chamber where the twin gods trained.
After receiving divine power and the small universe cultivation method from Della, they retreated to train, occasionally emerging to test their progress.
Now, nearly a century had passed—a lengthy span for mortals.
"Thanatos, Hypnos! Meet me in the Hall of Stars when you awaken!" Della's voice reached the twin gods' minds, opening their eyes.
With Della's aid, they had reached the sixth sense, their divine power enhancing their small universe, rivaling other Sub-God Father level beings.
Della rarely summoned them, even during the war with the Celestial Group.
Surprised by the summons, they wondered if something had befallen Asgard.
"Yes, Your Highness," they replied, acknowledging the voice in their minds.
Stretching, they left their training chambers, basking in the long-lost light. Bearing striking resemblance, Thanatos had silver hair and eyes, radiating destructive power.
As Della's strongest fighters, they were ready to serve him.
