The Strongest Curse Master

Chapter 437: Ageism

Hearing my generous offer, the hard gazes on me softened. Agent Sugarmite, who was judging me the hardest, was the first to utter, "I am willing to sell. I have two curse cores. One is sky-tier, and the other is an earth-tier, but they both are from rare curselings…"

"Don't worry, I will pay a premium price for each core and your share of the innate curse tool. My accountant will contact you within two days. Get ready to count money till you develop a nasty case of carpal tunnel," I assured the eager agent and then, eyeing the others who were still hesitant, I said, "Please, give my offer a serious consideration. My accountant will reach out to each one of you."

"Young man, are you sure about this? This time around, you were lucky we were here. What about next time?" Matthews asked, seeing me flaunt my ill gotten wealth despite what almost happened.

"There won't be a next time. I will make sure of that," I promised with deadpan eyes. In my eyes, the organization behind this group of curse terrorists was drawing in their last few breaths. Once Dame Wasp was available, I will hit the final nail in their coffin.

Besides, Dame Wasp had already stolen more money than I can ever spend from the hidden funds of the shady foreign organizations across the world, having learned our lesson from the online gambling fiasco.

Hopefully, there wasn't another organization foolish enough to think they could track and get their money back. In a couple of days, they all would know only death awaited who tried to retrieve that money. The organization behind the curse terrorist group that came after me today will help me get the message across.

"Trust me," I said, staring into Matthew's eyes, who didn't appear to believe that I could deliver on what I promised.

"Whatever, I warned you. What you do next is up to you," Matthews said before signalling that she would also sell her curse cores and the share of curse charmer's innate curse tool to me. It was a no brainer, after all, I was paying the highest price in the market.

Nodding at Matthews, I finally spoke the thing weighing my mind, "Now that we divided the loot, what about the innate curse tool of the curse caster? Does it belong to the C.I.B. or the person who killed the curse caster?"

In my impatience, I cut the small talk, skipping the questions of whether the curse caster was dead and who killed him, and directly jumped to who had his innate curse tool and if I could buy it. Hopefully, they didn't notice my eagerness and the lengths I was willing to take to get my hands on the curse caster's innate cursed tool.

"Keep dreaming buddy. Even if the ownership of the curse caster's innate curse tool doesn't fall in C.I.B.'s jurisdiction, it still isn't your turn to buy it. If anyone is buying it, then it will be me," Janice jumped in out of turn and said even before Matthews could answer me.

Janice didn't hesitate to inform me that she was willing to stake her entire net worth to buy the curse caster's innate curse tool. Unfortunately, we both knew that we weren't strong enough to participate in the bid to buy the curse caster's innate curse tool. The McSuile family had better chances than us. However, in the absence of their old patriarch, I didn't believe they would take the risk of coming under the spotlight.

"Young man, Janice is right. Don't have any thoughts about the curse caster's innate curse tool, if you have any, I hope you are smart enough to erase them right now. Knowing the demand for the curse caster's innate curse tool, I'm ninety-nine percent sure that it will be bought by the Wisemen for the curse council," Matthews warned me following Janice's warning. They both were right, but I wasn't going to give that easy.

"I get it. I know my limits. So, who killed the curse caster? Agent Berry or Marcus? What exactly happened?" I took a step back and asked for the details to show that I really didn't entertain any thoughts about the curse caster's innate curse tool and was just interested about what actually happened with Agent Berry and Marcus.

"We are late. Let's get moving," Matthews blatantly ignored me. Kissing her daughter goodbye, she signaled the others that they were moving out.

"Ace, you have my card, right? Tell your accountant to give me a call," Agent Sugarmite reminded me before she followed her temporary party out of the cursed array formation.

Giving her a nod of assurance, I turned to Janice for answers. Honestly, if Dame Wasp were here, I wouldn't have to be so helpless and clueless. She would have gotten the information I needed before I asked her for it. I couldn't wait for her to be done with building her new body and things were back to usual.

"I'm not in the mood to talk about it. Just go home and report to your mother before she rushes to my house to find you," Janice said unenthusiastically, dismissing my eager gaze.

I glared at Janice but ultimately didn't pester her. Regardless of achievements and proving myself time and again, at the end of the day in the eyes of the likes of Matthews and Janice, I was just an extraordinary teenager and nothing more. Thanks to Dame Wasp, I had managed to find a way around it, but without her I decided to get the information I sought from someplace else. I had no choice because Janice or anyone else wouldn't give it to me as they believed it wasn't something a teenager should concern himself with.

Honestly, be it Janice, Matthews, or even Elinor, they didn't treat me as their equal until I was their only option. The only people I could count on to treat me as an equal were Delores and Dee3. With Delores gone, I turned to Dee3 for the answers I needed.
