Chapter 439: Mitsy The Otter
"Oye! Can it. Especially, you fatty!" Ava fearlessly yelled, her eyes threateningly glancing at the vigilant cyborg animals and finally resting on Thunder.
"Trumpet," Thunder blew its trunk hard, taking offence to Ava calling it fat. However, its fit was interrupted by annoyed Ava, who fingered her ears using the freehand and scowled aloud, "Ah, I said shut it, you damn'd mutt."
Thunder's eyes widened seeing Ava continue to belittle it, dismissing all of its warning to her. In its rage, it suddenly lifted both of its front legs and stood on its hind legs before dropping a thunderous stomp, sending tremors and shockwaves through the entire dungeon. It repeated its angry stomps two more times before stopping and glaring at Ava, who now embraced the otter in a hug with its head stuck between her ample bosom.
"You done?" Ava asked, unimpressed. Listening to her, Thunder's jaw hung open. Meanwhile, observing the redhead manhandled the poor otter, other cyborg animals all shuddered in fear. Especially the little ones who fancied themselves as 'cute.' They silently prayed for their little otter friend but also prayed they wouldn't catch the redhead's sinister eye.
"No, you are done. Let go of Mitsy and get out," Dee3 finally spoke up, asking Ava to leave Mitsy the otter alone and get out of her dungeon, pointing at the brick arch gate that formed on the wall next to Ava.
Listening to Dee3, Ava suddenly grinned and dared her, "Make me—" However, I promptly interrupted her, ordering her, "Ava, let go of Mitsy and stop wasting my time."
Yep, this was the true Ava I knew in my old high school. There was a reason why her friend circle included the likes of Mike and his goons. Ava by nature was a bully, but a rare kind among these lowlifes. One that you want on your side and not against you. Because if you manage to win her favor, she will not hesitate to risk her life for you. But if you garner her ire, then she will do everything in her power to make your life miserable. She would even go out of her way to do so.
If I were to use one word to describe Ava, then it would be 'Tool,' a perfect tool. Her ignorance was akin to the coldness of the metaphorical tool. Making her a tool that you don't want to be used against you. A tool that one wouldn't hesitate to discard once they no-longer have a use for it. And right now Sonia was trying to sharpen this tool against me. Unfortunately for her, due to things beyond my control, this tool had imprinted on me. All I needed was to command it, and it would follow through.
"Fine," Ava agreed without even a single complaint. But as she let the otter go, she muttered, "Mitsy, do you want to come home with me?"
The scared little otter immediately turned around while unintentionally slapping Ava on the face with its tail and hopped to the safety of its cyborg animal friends with all its might. Though Ava tried to hide it, her eyes told that she was heartbroken by the otter's reaction. She wanted to forcefully take the stupid little cute thing back with her, but she didn't act on her impulsive thoughts as she didn't want to be a nuisance to her crush.
"Now that is taken care of. Let's talk business—" I began seeing Ava unhand the otter but was interrupted by an angry Dee3, who demanded, "That's not enough, she has to apologize to my friends. Especially Thunder, for her insensitive comments about his weight."
Ava's eyes widened listening to Dee3 demand her apologize to a bunch of mutts when she did nothing wrong. Not to mention, what kind of elephant is sensitive about its weight? It's like saying a giraffe is sensitive about its long neck. It's a giraffe. It's supposed to have a long neck. Similarly, an elephant was supposed to be super heavy. There was no question of it being sensitive about its weight. It was just being a drama queen.
"Ava, apologize. They aren't your regular animals from a public zoo where you get to pet the animals, but cyborgs with intelligence rivaling or even surpassing yours. I.e. they should be petting you, not the other way round," I ordered Ava without missing the opportunity to mock her, knowing that no matter how mean and terribly I treated her, Ava would just take it.
"Really? You say that, but I don't see any of them capable of speaking. I spoke my first word when I was still nine months old…" Ava trailed off mid-sentence, seeing Thunder glance at her with a gaze filled with pity, as if looking at a mentally challenged one.
"How dare you, you damned mutt! It's you or me, right here and now," Ava said, throwing down the metaphorical gloves at Thunder. Not everyone had the patience to ignore being mocked by an animal, especially not a redhead who skated through school thanks to her Ivy League tutors and a school principal for a father.
Thunder glanced at Ava in disdain, waving its trunk at her as if saying goodbye. Before Ava could understand it, she was forced out of the dungeon and she found herself on the front porch of the empty servant villa. Finally comprehending what actually happened, Ava screamed in frustration, "AhhhHH!"
Soon she turned into a beam of light and entered the servant villa through the glass window, searching the entire villa from the attic to the basement, trying to find an entrance into Dee3's dungeon. Unable to find an entrance, once again screamed, "Let me in, damn it!"
"Ava, let us head back home and complete the daily exercises." A spark flew out of the power outlet near Ava, growing to take a humanoid form that finally morphed into Layla and spoke. "Hurry, I wasted too much time searching for you. Lola and Sonia are already halfway through."
In terms of speed, only Layla could keep up with Ava thanks to her Voltaic wisp curseling partner, which could travel through wires and track people locking on their bio-electricity, like nerve signals, no matter how weak and insignificant.
