The Supreme Overlord (Multicross)

Chapter 51: 50 Alrescha-Glacies

"Other than our Princess, kill everyone else!"

The imposing figure of the Beastman, known only as the Prince of Death—his true name long forgotten—stood like a mountain as he issued his commands to his followers.

With a roar, the dozen or so divine beast transformed Beastmen charged forward, barehanded and relentless. Their bodies were enveloped in a mystical 'divine energy,' a manifestation of high-density magic unattainable by mere mortals, representing a phenomenon from a higher dimension.

Just as the divine beast transformation suggested, only angels and devas in legend could wield such divine energy with impunity. This transformation endowed the Beastmen with unimaginably strong bodies. They needed no weapons; they themselves were the sharpest blades!

Boom!

Each step these Beastmen took left a deep crack in the earth, causing the entire cavern to tremble as grains of sand trickled down from above.

Roaaaaar!

Their deafening roars echoed throughout the cavern, leaving a painful ringing in the ears of all who heard them.

As they swung their thick, hair-covered arms, there was a resounding crash. Like battering rams, their limbs struck the ground, leaving behind massive craters.

"Such crude savagery!"

Natsuki Minamiya snorted coldly. With a casual wave of her hand, the Laeding materialized from the void, tightly binding several of the transformed Beastmen.

Despite their furious roars and bulging muscles, no amount of force could free them from these divine chains.

After restraining the Beastmen charging at her, Natsuki Minamiya elegantly lifted her hand again. Another intricate magic circle appeared in the void.

The intense magic that erupted from this circle made the very air tremble. Suddenly, a gigantic rift in space appeared, cleaving a Beastman nearly in half in an instant.

A ghastly gash stretched from the Beastman's left shoulder to his right abdomen, exposing his internal organs.

Such a wound would have severely injured, if not killed, even a vampire.

Yet, the Beastman before her seemed oblivious to death and pain, continuing to charge at Natsuki Minamiya with a feral roar.

This made Natsuki Minamiya's expression darken slightly. She had not expected these Beastmen to be so resilient, their battle lust undiminished even in the face of mortal wounds.

With her doll-like frame moving with a ripple of spatial distortion, the Witch of the Void evaded the Beastman's massive swinging palm.

Natsuki Minamiya, holding her parasol, reappeared behind the Beastman. With a graceful flick of her wrist, black flames erupted on the Beastman's nearly bisected body.

This time, even the Divine Beast-transformed Beastman seemed unable to bear the pain, letting out a miserable howl.

His body began to age rapidly, his once-vibrant life force being drained by Natsuki Minamiya. Even the divine energy used by the devas could not prevent the essence of aging and decay.

Feeling a strange pleasure from seizing another's life, Natsuki Minamiya gave a self-mocking smile. "...It seems I am becoming more of a witch every day."

"But, having made a pact with a devil, I was always a witch, wasn't I?"

Despite having taken down one of the Beastmen, Natsuki Minamiya did not appear relieved.

To be honest, the strength of these transformed Beastmen had made her somewhat wary.

It wasn't that these Beastmen could defeat her, but rather that their resilience made them incredibly troublesome to kill.

As a witch, Natsuki Minamiya had learned various hand-to-hand combat techniques from the island guard on Itogami Island, but those techniques were laughable when faced with Beastmen.

She had no ability to engage in close combat with them, especially those who had undergone divine beast transformation.

As a witch, her body was frail. If these Beastmen managed to injure her, it would be fatal or at least severely debilitating. Even though she was currently using a puppet body, it would still prevent her from influencing this world for a while.

Natsuki Minamiya specialized in using spatial manipulation magic for mobility in combat, but at this moment, she couldn't employ her preferred fighting style.

Mainly because Saigou seemed to be in a deadlock with the Cursed Soul right now. If she moved away from her position and allowed those Beastmen to get close to Saigou, it would only cause more problems.

"Move faster, you demon!"

Natsuki Minamiya snapped angrily, but she stood her ground, her slender frame refusing to let the Beastmen advance a single step further.

"Ah, Aya, I leave these Beastmen to you."

Natsuki Minamiya called out to the Witch of the Notaria.

Unable to fight as she preferred and unable to leave her position, Natsuki Minamiya knew her best hope lay with Aya Todoyoki.

"Leave it to me, Natsuki... Hold off those demons for me. Just give me some time, and I will deal with these grotesque creatures."

Aya smiled serenely, holding a grimoire as she began constructing a massive barrier.

As the Witch of the Notaria, Aya possessed the ability to record all magic in the world, though each spell required re-recording after a single use.

As the High Librarian of the Library, she had access to the vast majority of grimoires in existence.

Within her unique domain, the Witch of the Notaria commanded nearly all magic known to this world, even if she could only use them once.

It was precisely because of this talent that Aya became the leader of the Library.

In the past, even though Aya had recorded most of the world's magic, she had been limited by her magical power, rendering many spells unusable—especially large-scale ones.

But now, things were different. Having made a pact with Saigou, she had an infinite reserve of magical power. She could use any spell as long as she had the time to construct it.

"This is..."

As Natsuki Minamiya felt the magical runes being etched into the void, a mysterious and eerie power emanated from them.

She whispered in surprise, a hint of admiration for Aya in her voice.

The Witch of the Notaria was using the most mysterious magic in this world—time manipulation magic, specifically a temporal barrier.

Upon recognizing Aya's technique, Natsuki Minamiya felt reassured.

Though Aya had little combat experience, she was not a witch incapable of fighting. Her choice of magic was correct in this situation.

Everyone present could see that these transformed Beastmen were imperfect products of some secret technique.

If they could just buy some time, the Beastmen would inevitably self-destruct.

At this moment, both Natsuki and Aya could only maintain their positions, primarily to 'protect' Saigou from harm.

Thus, deploying a protective barrier was the best choice. It would allow them to bide their time while eliminating their enemies and perfectly shielding themselves.

As one of the rare pure-blooded witches in the world, Aya might not match Natsuki Minamiya in combat talent.

But her abilities were far more unpredictable and versatile.

"Leave this to me, Aya... Until your magic is complete, I will protect you."

Natsuki stood in front of Aya with her slender, beautiful body. Holding her parasol, she continued to ward off the Beastmen, ensuring they couldn't cross the line where she stood, no matter how fiercely they roared and charged.

The only thing that worried Natsuki Minamiya was the silent presence of the Prince of Death. She had no idea what plans this overly clever Beastman might be concocting.

La Folia stood right beside Natsuki Minamiya, firing potshots with her enchanted rifle, facing no danger herself.

The heir to the Aldegia Kingdom was furious as she turned her anger toward the Prince of Death.

"...Such an incomplete secret technique might grant immense power for a short time, but it will also rapidly drain these Beastmen of their lives."

"Is this how you treat your own people, Prince of Death?"

La Folia's anger was palpable, mainly because these transformed Beastmen reminded her of the flawed secret techniques that had been passed down within their royal family.

The technique, known as Faux-angel, involved a special method to deify humans, thereby granting them divine energy and the higher-dimensional powers of an angel.

However, this secret technique had too many flaws and was extremely inhumane, ultimately remaining stored in the royal archives without further development.

Clearly, the secret technique used on these transformed Beastmen was similar to the Faux-angel technique.

But it was evident that this spell was only a half-baked version; it didn't truly transform the Beastmen into Divine Beasts but merely forced an accelerated evolution by briefly enhancing their life force.

The Prince of Death responded to La Folia's reprimand with a casual indifference, "For the great cause of the Beastmen, they should be proud to sacrifice their precious lives."

"This is a grand endeavor that could change the fate of our entire race. As the most superior species in this world, we Beastmen should rule over both you weak monkey and those bats."

"For this purpose, what is the loss of one's life? It is the duty of all Beastmen."

Hearing the arrogant words of the Prince of Death, La Folia knew there was no reasoning with him; he was nothing more than a simple terrorist.

At this moment, the Prince of Death was not in a hurry; after all, he hadn't just brought the people currently present.

Outside the ruins, his magical forces were constructing a large barrier.

Once the barrier was completed, the people in front of him would be like fish in a barrel.

In fact, the presence of these people here was an unexpected boon.

He had originally learned that Liana had discovered the 12th Kaleid Blood and had sent Beastmen disguised as mercenaries to join the archaeological team.

His initial plan was merely to annihilate the vampires and the archaeological team, then seize the 12th Kaleid Blood to complete his mission.

But who could have predicted that he would encounter a witch and the princess of a kingdom here?

The witch was of no use to the Prince of Death; his plan was simply to kill her outright.

However, La Folia was different. As the heir to the Aldegia Kingdom, capturing her could yield greater benefits when negotiating with the kingdom.

At this point, the Prince of Death felt certain of his victory.

He was already contemplating whether to destroy the 12th Kaleid Blood or use its power to deal with those arrogant vampires.

"Sköll, Hati!"

Meanwhile, Liana summoned her familiars, two transparent wolves, one emitting sunlight, the other moonlight.

These were Liana's two familiars.

At the same time, her last familiar created a barrier, protecting Gajou and his two children within it.

Despite her ruthless pursuit of restoring her family's honor, Liana was not inherently evil.

At the very least, she was fulfilling her duty by protecting Gajou and his children.

But Liana wasn't a particularly powerful vampire; she was neither a Primogenitor nor a vampire of the first or second generation.

Facing this group of catalyzed Divine Beasts, her familiars were barely managing to hold the line.

Howl!

With a piercing howl, one of Liana's familiars was torn apart by a Beastman.

The power of a vampire resides entirely in their familiars. With the death of one, Liana effectively lost a third of her strength.

The remaining wolf could not hold its ground alone and was soon torn apart by the frenzied Beastmen.

These Beastmen charged at Liana, howling as they ripped off one of her arms, shoving it into their mouths and devouring it with gruesome gusto. The scene was horrifying.

"Ahhhhhh!"

Liana let out a harrowing scream. Though vampires are immortal in that they do not die of old age, it does not mean they are invulnerable to death.

For an ordinary vampire, losing an arm and a significant amount of blood is not fatal, but it is a severe injury.

Natsuki Minamiya frowned. Seeing that Liana was about to be torn to shreds and devoured by the Beastmen, she casually summoned the Laeding, binding several of the Beastmen and saving Liana's life.

"Alright, the barrier is complete. It's time to claim the fruits of our victory!"

Suddenly, the Prince of Death spoke, his voice filled with triumph. This Beastman, holding a staff made of withered bones, burst into laughter.

Natsuki Minamiya realized that her space manipulation magic had temporarily lost its effect. It seemed the Prince of Death had brought an exceptionally skilled magical unit capable of suppressing spatial magic, even if only briefly.

Just as Natsuki was growing impatient, contemplating whether to momentarily ignore the devil and eliminate all the Beastmen, the temperature in the cavern plummeted sharply.

The moisture in the air crystallized into ice, and even the distant cavern walls were coated with a thick layer of frost.

Crack!

The beautiful Fairy's Coffin began to crack.

As the crystalline ice shattered inch by inch, the sleeping princess lying within opened her blazing eyes. She rose from the remaining ice blocks and stood beside Saigou.

Her iridescent hair, captivating figure, fiery eyes, and pale, delicate skin.

Her flawless features and enigmatic aura left everyone present momentarily speechless, their gazes instinctively drawn to the awakened beauty.

At that moment, Kojou Akatsuki seemed entranced, staring at the stunning girl, his eyes devoid of any other thought.

In contrast to Kojou's infatuation with the girl's beauty, the expressions of the others were grave, shocked by the terrifying magic radiating from her!

"Foul beastmen, let's test this newfound power on you. Come forth swiftly, Alrescha-Glacies!"

With a faint smile on his lips, Saigou raised his hand, and behind the girl with fiery eyes, a beautiful yet sinister familiar appeared.

It was the Twelfth Familiar of the Fourth Primogenitor, the Alrescha-Glacies, possessing the power to freeze everything in its path!
