The Supreme Overlord (Multicross)

Chapter 53: 52 The Original

It was no wonder Natsuki Minamiya felt this way.

In that dark space, witnessing Saigou's performance as the Great Lord through the Authority of the Mother of the Evil Gods, Natsuki Minamiya was filled with profound dread.

Particularly disturbing was how this Great Lord's words and actions seemed to threaten the destruction of her world, the devouring of all living things—a threat directed straight at Natsuki Minamiya.

This made the Witch of the Void instinctively question Saigou's true intentions.

And now, with the disappearance of Gozo Island from the map right before her eyes, it seemed as if this act was a testament to the devil's threats of world annihilation, proving they were far from empty words.

The location to which Natsuki Minamiya had transported them using her spatial manipulation technique was an island not far from Gozo.

On this island, many tourists were staring wide-eyed at the frozen sea and at the famous Mediterranean ruins that had turned into shattered ice crystals, their expressions struck with fear and awe.

After learning that the ruins Gajou Akatsuki and his group were investigating were related to the Fourth Primogenitor, the Maltese authorities had evacuated the tourists from the island.

Initially, the tourists had grumbled about Malta's sudden demand.

But now, witnessing this scene of utter devastation, every tourist felt an overwhelming sense of relief at having escaped with their lives.

"Dad…"

Wearing a red and white shrine maiden outfit, young Nagisa Akatsuki, still just an elementary school student, called out softly to her father, her lips quivering and her face pale at the horrific sight.

The smile on Gajou's face was strained as he tried to comfort his daughter with a few words, his heart sinking. Walking by the river, as the saying goes, one's shoes are bound to get wet eventually.

This time, it seemed he would truly have to spend some time in prison.

Since he had asked Natsuki Minamiya for help earlier, now that she had saved his son and daughter according to his request, Gajou had to fulfill his end of the bargain.

He wasn't bold enough to deceive the Witch of the Void, so he prepared to obediently find a prison and serve his time.

At this moment, a spatial ripple appeared once more beside the group who had escaped the ruins. As they watched warily, a man and a woman emerged from the fluctuation.

One of them was Saigou, dressed in a black suit with silver trim, his face sharp and exuding a sinister charm.

Beside Saigou stood a girl wearing a simple sundress that revealed her snow-white shoulders.

The girl had beautiful rainbow-colored hair that shimmered in the sunlight, displaying a spectrum of gorgeous hues from different angles.

Her eyes were ablaze with a dazzling light, her features delicate and lovely. Her frail figure resembled that of a sickly princess.

"The 12th Kaleid Blood!"

Upon seeing that slender and graceful figure, Natsuki Minamiya let out a cold snort.

"12th Kaleid Blood is such a dreadful name, Natsuki-chan… The vampires over there gave her a much better one. Let's call her Avrora Florestina from now on!"

Saigou chuckled, his dark eyes burning with black flames, slowly turning to look at Avrora beside him.

At this moment, Avrora truly resembled a frail princess. Her body seemed extremely weak, her face pale.

Hearing Saigou's words, she mustered her strength, pretending to be haughty as she said.

"…Your suggestion is acceptable. Since it is your request, I shall show magnanimity towards you by accepting your proposal and the offerings you present!"

"Avrora Florestina, hmm, this name is just barely acceptable for one as noble as me!"

"…Be grateful, for being allowed to use this name is the greatest honor of your life!"

Avrora's demeanor was like that of a proud royal princess, arrogantly accepting a gift from her subjects.

However, despite her efforts to maintain her 'nobility,' her posture resembled more that of a princess from a fallen kingdom—utterly forlorn.

Unable to help himself, Saigou raised his hand and gave a firm knock on Avrora's little head.

"What are you doing?"

Avrora, who had just been putting on a haughty attitude, instantly teared up. She clutched her head, shrinking back pitifully and looking up at Saigou.

As Saigou's gaze met hers, she shrank back again, on the verge of tears.

"You're such a useless creature, Avrora! After receiving just a fraction of the power I bestowed upon your body, you whined about the pain, saying you were about to break apart."

Saigou's gaze was cold and indifferent as he looked at Avrora before him, letting out a mocking laugh. His words were sharp and cruel, yet he spoke them without a care.

As his voice trailed off, both Natsuki and Aya exchanged glances, their expressions tinged with a strange curiosity.

La Folia's cheeks were flushed, but her excitement was palpable. She leaned forward, standing on tiptoe, eager to hear what Saigou would say next.

Meanwhile, Akatsuki Gajou hurriedly covered Nagisa's ears, fearing that his daughter might be corrupted by the conversation.

"But it really hurts so much... If I continue to bear more of your gifts, I truly will be completely ruined," Avrora protested weakly. Yet, under Saigou's icy stare, her voice faltered, dwindling to a timid whisper.

"What is going on? What have you done to the 12th—no, to Avrora?" The Witch of the Void's voice was as cold as her porcelain doll-like face. Holding her parasol, she stepped forward and pulled Avrora behind her, shielding her.

However, Avrora did not appreciate the gesture. Instead, she took a step forward and stood beside Saigou again.

It was clear that Avrora was deeply afraid of Saigou, yet she still chose to stand by his side, a sight that was rather surprising.

"Oh my, Natsuki-chan, have you misunderstood something, or is there a problem with your thinking?" Saigou teased, a sly smile playing at his lips as he glanced at Natsuki Minamiya.

Natsuki was no longer the same as before; she wouldn't be easily provoked by a few words from Saigou. With a calm expression, she replied, "…I am simply disgusted that you could have such interests in someone who looks like a child."

"A child?" Saigou was momentarily taken aback, then he laughed softly, "…Avrora is hardly a child. If you consider her actual age, she should be several thousand years old by now!"

Avrora nodded vigorously, "…Indeed, I have lived for thousands of years. Although I have mostly remained in slumber, rarely venturing into the outside world."

After a brief pause, Avrora couldn't help but add, "…Besides, I am not a child at all. My thoughts are quite mature. In fact, it seems more like you are the child here."

"…Judging by appearances, I think I look even older than you!" Avrora said this with pride, puffing out her chest and lifting her chin slightly, as if comparing her height with Natsuki's.

Upon closer inspection, she was indeed a little taller than Natsuki Minamiya.

Aya almost burst into laughter, barely managing to hold it in at the last moment.

"Silence! If I haven't asked you to speak, don't say a word!" Natsuki's face turned livid. Did she want to remain in a childlike form forever? It was only because she, as a pure-blood witch, had been affected by a magical ritual in her youth.

However, in reality, Natsuki Minamiya was already twenty-one years old. She was no longer the simple girl who could be easily provoked by a few words.

A delicate fan appeared in Natsuki's tender hand, and she struck Avrora's smooth forehead with it.

"Ouch, that hurt!" Avrora whimpered, clutching her head, looking aggrieved.

Natsuki's personality was naturally strong. Her cold gaze, much like Saigou's, made Avrora quickly shut her mouth.

"What exactly did you do to this Kaleid Blood?" Natsuki repeated her question.

This time, Saigou didn't tease her. Instead, he chuckled lightly, "…I merely fed the Twelfth Familiar of the Fourth Primogenitor a substantial amount of magical power, hoping that the Familiar could exhibit even greater strength."

"…However, while the Familiar's power can continue to grow, the vessel that houses the Familiar is far too fragile."

Saying this, Saigou glanced at Avrora.

Avrora tugged at the hem of her dress with her small hands, speaking in a fearful tone, "…I am merely the medium for sealing the Alrescha-Glacies."

"…We were created to seal the Familiars of the Fourth Primogenitor. Although we are also vampires, we are ultimately not the Fourth Primogenitor."

"Our bodies cannot withstand the power of the Fourth Primogenitor's Familiars. Overusing that power would cause our bodies to break down."

"…Once the body breaks down, the unsealed Familiar would go completely berserk, something that must not happen under any circumstances."

"Because our very purpose is to seal those Familiars until the Fourth Primogenitor's resurrection!"

Saigou chuckled, "…Ultimately, you are still too weak and useless, Avrora!"

"I don't want to be, but I can barely utilize even a part of the Alrescha-Glacies' power," Avrora mumbled softly, trying to muster a rebuttal but failing to do so.

Despite the Fourth Primogenitor's Familiar, Alrescha-Glacies, showing only limited effectiveness, Saigou was still somewhat satisfied.

At the very least, he now had a wide-area destructive technique at his disposal.

In the past, during his time with the Yggdrasill, Saigou had possessed immense power and mysterious abilities, unrivaled in one-on-one combat, making him undoubtedly the strongest in the world.

However, just like the balance in a game, as the Aging Demon, Saigou had never mastered any wide-area AOE skills or magic.

Back then, Saigou had quite fancied the idea of becoming a mage, at least enough to admire the grand spectacle of large-scale bombardment spells.

Unfortunately, at that time, Saigou couldn't master such abilities. But now, in this world, he could finally indulge in the thrill of being a mage.

Judging from the earlier display of Alrescha-Glacies, the power of that strike was already comparable to super-tier magic from Yggdrasill.

It could easily destroy fortresses and annihilate armies.

Moreover, the power of Alrescha-Glacies still had room for improvement. This Familiar of the Fourth Primogenitor was capable of far more than this current output.

The current limitation lay in Avrora's body.

Due to her destined mission, Avrora could not and would not excessively harness the power of Alrescha-Glacies, lest the seal be broken.

'But if there's a way to enhance Avrora's endurance, this power could become even stronger.'

'…Or perhaps, by gathering all the Kaleid Blood, I could fully restore the power of the Fourth Primogenitor, eliminating any concerns of insufficient output.'

'And with my Third Star Particle, the strength of the Familiars I command would be even greater than that of the true Fourth Primogenitor.'

Saigou contemplated how to adjust and enhance this power further.

Although it seemed challenging to enhance Avrora's constitution so she could bear Alrescha-Glacies, after all, it was a Familiar of a true Primogenitor, a summonable beast that only a Primogenitor could properly command.

However, Saigou suddenly had an unconventional idea.

If he couldn't accomplish such an incredible feat in this world, he could always try another world and use its methods to achieve it.

Saigou was not a vampire. His body's composition was entirely different from those vampires who possessed negative life force.

He couldn't host a Familiar within his body, which was a rule of this world, a guarantee tied to the existence of vampires.

Therefore, Saigou needed Avrora and the other Kaleid Blood as mediums.

Simply put, Avrora was like a magical tool, and Saigou could use this magical tool to manipulate the Familiars of the Fourth Primogenitor.

A single tool could only correspond to one Familiar, so Saigou's next step was to collect all the Kaleid Blood!

"Since you're a part of the Fourth Primogenitor, why do you listen to him?" Natsuki Minamiya asked in confusion. No matter how she thought about it, Avrora shouldn't be obedient to Saigou like this.

The girl with the blazing eyes leaned closely against Saigou, softly explaining to Natsuki, "…I am the Watcher of the Original."

"…As the 12th Kaleid Blood, my mission is to complete the Blazing Banquet, delivering the twelve Familiars to the Original, thereby resurrecting the true Fourth Primogenitor."

"Right now, he is the Original. For us, obeying the Original's orders to complete the Blazing Banquet is an inviolable command."

"…Therefore, as long as the Original follows his mission, I must obey him."

Natsuki Minamiya nodded slightly, "…The Original? The cursed soul, you mean."

At this moment, the Witch of the Void finally understood how Saigou had managed to gain control of the Fourth Primogenitor's Familiars.

He had sealed the Original within himself; although it was a cursed soul, it was still theoretically a part of the Fourth Primogenitor's soul.

Naturally, the Familiars and the Kaleid Blood would obey Saigou's commands.

This seemingly simple method was actually incredibly difficult because, under normal circumstances, anyone who approached the Original would only be cursed by it, have their body taken over, and their soul devoured.

It was only because Saigou had used methods unknown to Natsuki that he had instead seized everything from the Original.

Now, Saigou was the Original, the Primordial, Root!

Natsuki Minamiya had also guessed Saigou's next plan.

He intended to gather all the Kaleid Blood and then host the Blazing Banquet ritual, thereby acquiring the complete power of the Fourth Primogenitor.

And some of the Kaleid Blood should be in the hands of those three Primogenitors. It was highly likely that Saigou would soon clash directly with those three Primogenitors!
