The Untouchable of Magic High School – A New God Enters the Game

Chapter 22: Chapter 21: Restrictions of the Heart

Flags form automatically or deliberately. So-called "death flags" are the latter. Love flags raised by the oblivious? Hard to say.

Commuters eliminated crowded trains, but the walk from station to school remains. It's a straight path, so running into classmates is common.

Still, attracting attention is unwise. Yet, Mayumi, the student council president, dashes toward Yugen and Tatsuya, waving and calling their names.

"Yugen! Tatsuya!"

"Getting cozy, huh?" Yugen mutters.

"We just met two days ago," Tatsuya replies. "You're closer to her, aren't you?"

"She used her family's influence for Valentine's Day. Not my type," Yugen says.

Miyuki gives a wry smile, overhearing their hushed exchange. Mayumi's behavior borders on obsessive. Unaware, she greets them.

"Good morning, you two. Morning, Miyuki."

"Good morning, President," Miyuki replies.

"Morning," Tatsuya says.

"Good morning, President Nanakusa," Yugen adds.

Mayumi pouts at Yugen. "Yugen, I told you to call me Mayumi."

"Familiarity breeds gossip. We're already conspicuous on this path," Yugen says, gesturing to their Ten Master Clans status.

Mayumi relents. "Fine, for now. What about lunch? Student council business."

"Council matters?" Miyuki glances at Tatsuya.

Her guardian, Tatsuya senses the obligation. Yugen nods, understanding they'll all end up at the council room.

Mayumi's encounter draws eyes. Miyuki naturally attracts attention, while Tatsuya faces resentment as a Course 2 student.

"We're not trying to stand out, but…" Yugen trails off.

"Can't help it," Tatsuya sighs, resigned.

Miyuki's presence is the main cause. They enter the school, Tatsuya parting as a Course 2 student. Yugen and Miyuki head to class, where she beams.

"What's got you so happy?" Yugen asks.

"Yesterday, I was glum, wishing to walk with you. Now here we are," Miyuki says.

Yugen nods, understanding. Her beauty sparks envy among male students. Complain if you want, but it's my call.

Class 1-A is split into small groups. Yugen finds his terminal, greeted by Shizuku and Honoka.

"Morning, Yugen," Shizuku says.

"Good morning, Yugen," Honoka adds.

"Morning, both," Yugen replies, setting his ID card.

Honoka sighs in relief. "I'm glad you're next to me."

"Mitsui and Mitsuya are close in hiragana," Yugen notes.

"My seat's far," Shizuku pouts.

"School's alphabetical seating," Yugen says, typing swiftly on his terminal.

His keyboard skills, honed during CAD training, impress. Miyuki's sisters, Kana and Mika, pushed him to excel, leading to Mika's dual role at the Nine Schools Competition. The family's lively, to say the least.

Checking the curriculum, Yugen's watched by Shizuku and Honoka. A soft voice pipes up behind him.

"Typing without assistance? Impressive," says a delicate-looking boy.

"It's faster once you're used to it," Yugen replies.

"Sorry, I'm Toya Mutsuzuka. Call me Toya. Vibration and acceleration magic are my thing."

"Yugen Mitsuya. Yugen's fine. Vibration magic, mostly. Why First High instead of Fifth High in Tohoku?"

"Big sister, the clan head, said First High suits my goals. I thought I'd stand out, but not with you, the president, and Katsuto around."

"Your sister's influence lingers," Yugen says, unsur

No surprise there.

Shizuku and Hon yourself, Toya. The four Ten Master Clans heirs in one class is bizarre."

They laugh, joined by Honoka and Miyuki, introducing themselves. Toya's ignored by some, like Morisaki, whose envious glares Yugen disregards.

"Your sister was the former president, right?" Toya asks.

"Yeah. Mika's friendly, even with Course 2 students. She swept Battle Board and Cloud Ball at the Nine Schools, then won Ice Pillars Break in her third year."

"She was an engineer too," Shizuku adds.

"You met her at parties?" Yugen asks.

"A few times. You didn't tell, though."

"Family secrets," Yugen says.

Mika's antics suppressing chaos as a freshman, punishing Course 2 discriminators—earned her a wild reputation. Her student council speech began, "Challenge me if you dare." Kana reprimanded her, but her popularity soared, especially among Course 2 students.

"She caused you trouble, blia," Toya says.

"Maybe," Yugen sighs.

The Ueyama clan's home is in Minowa, where a photo hangs of five figures: Genzo Yotsuba, Retsu Kudou, Gozo Ueyama, Maya, and Mosi. Yugen's grandfather's magic heals him, restoring his magical abilities.

Gozo sighs, staring at the photo. "Maya, you didn't have to do this."

"Understood. I'll deliver the letters myself," Yugen says.

Gozo hands Maya a letter. Her eyes brim with tears. "Thank you, Gozo-san."

The orientation begins. Teacher Mozetani calls Yugen to introduce himself.

"I'm Yugen Mitsuya, this year's freshman rep. I don't look down on other students."

He nods. "Fair enough."

Class resumes. Yugen's brief speech stirs murmurs. Mozetani tells him to stand and introduce himself.

Yugen stands, facing curious classmates. "Yugen Mitsuya, freshman rep. No elitism here."

The teacher explains the day's lessons. Yugen follows, joining a group led by Miyuki to observe a practical magic class.

The magic engineering class is uneventful. Yugen, Miyuki, Shizuku, Honoka, and Toya watch, impressed.

"Wow, your keyboard
