The World of Naruto in the Eyes of Reincarnation

Chapter 80: Chapter 80

Before the Third Hokage could speak, Homura Mitokado adjusted his glasses and said, "Kakashi is Minato's student. His loyalty isn't something we need to question."

As the son of the White Fang, a disciple of the Fourth Hokage, and a hero of the Third Great Ninja War, Kakashi carried too many honors. If even he was being scrutinized, then no one in the village would be safe from suspicion.

The Third Hokage nodded. "I'll handle any questions regarding Squad Eleven privately. Full surveillance isn't necessary. They're all trustworthy Konoha shinobi."

"Trustworthy?" Danzo sneered. "Hyuga Kagami used to be one of Orochimaru's subordinates. Who's to say he isn't a spy planted by Orochimaru? Leaving someone like him in the Anbu… Hiruzen, you're being careless!"

The Third's expression soured at Danzo bringing up the past again. "Danzo, let's leave old matters where they belong."

Danzo insisted, "He was once on the village's purge list. Someone like that can't be allowed to remain in the Anbu. If you insist on keeping him, I'll have Root monitor him in secret."

The Third Hokage fell silent.

The fact that Hyuga Kagami had once been on the purge list was like a thorn lodged deep in the Third's heart. It made it impossible to fully trust him. After all, anyone abandoned by the village once would naturally have shaken loyalty.

Seeing that the Third had no rebuttal, Danzo said no more and left the Hokage building with his cane.

Meanwhile, after parting ways with Shisui, Hyuga Kagami made his way alone to the Forest of Death.

He hadn't been there long when a familiar wild boar—once used to test poisons—emerged from the underbrush, sniffing excitedly around his pant legs.

"What the… how did you get so big?!"

Kagami blinked in confusion.

Only a little over a month ago, this boar had been a small piglet. Now, it had grown several sizes larger, nearly reaching his waist.

Looking closer, Kagami noticed the boar was covered in scars and its fur was sparse. It clearly had been fighting frequently with other beasts in the forest.

"Covered in wounds and still bouncing around like nothing happened. You really are a pig."

Chuckling slightly, Kagami activated his Byakugan.

He scanned the area meticulously. After confirming there were no hidden people or suspicious chakra signatures, he closed his eyes.

When he opened them again, his pupils had transformed into a stunning sapphire blue.

He formed hand seals and whispered, "Tenseigan Chakra Mode."

Whoosh—

Brilliant sky-blue chakra surged and wrapped around him, lifting him effortlessly into the air.

The wild boar, surprisingly, didn't panic. It cautiously approached, sniffed him again, and after confirming his scent hadn't changed, resumed circling around him, clearly waiting to be fed.

Kagami smiled, ignoring the boar for now and focusing completely on the sensation of Tenseigan Chakra Mode.

Though he'd activated it briefly during the battle in the Land of Lightning—going so far as to unleash a Silver Wheel Reincarnation Explosion—it had been a chaotic battlefield, and he hadn't been able to familiarize himself with the form or its chakra consumption.

Now, in the quiet and secluded Forest of Death, he had the perfect opportunity to explore the form's abilities without distraction.

Gently landing, Kagami knelt and placed one hand on the ground, channeling Tenseigan chakra into the earth.

Instantly, chakra signatures from nearly ten kilometers around surged into his perception.

"My sensory range has increased almost tenfold."

Pleased, Kagami then focused chakra into his Tenseigan and scanned the surroundings more intently.

Bathed in ample chakra, his Tenseigan radiated an almost blinding brilliance, like two priceless gems.

In his vision, every detail sharpened. Even the patterns on a moth's wings tens of meters away appeared as if they were right before his eyes.

Turning toward the wandering boar, Kagami noticed that its chakra had grown significantly. A few of its chakra pathways were still clogged, though, limiting its potential.

Grinning, Kagami gestured for it to come.

The boar suddenly floated into the air, unable to resist the pull of Truth-Seeking Control, no matter how it flailed.

When it was close enough, Kagami gently pressed a hand to its belly and began infusing it with Tenseigan chakra.

Its chakra instantly multiplied several times over, and the blocked pathways cleared under the influx.

"You've helped me test poisons for a while now—consider this your bonus."

In high spirits, Kagami smiled.

The newly empowered boar looked drunk, wobbling and snorting aimlessly.

Leaving the piglet alone, Kagami turned his focus back to the Truth-Seeking Ball.

Unlike before, when he had summoned nine orbs with ease using the giant Tenseigan, this time it took significant effort just to form one.

Worse yet, he could feel that activating it would rapidly drain his chakra.

Tossing the orb between his hands, Kagami mused, "Maintaining Tenseigan Chakra Mode alone, I can last about ten minutes. But if I use the Truth-Seeking Ball or trigger techniques like Golden Wheel or Silver Wheel Reincarnation Explosion, I'll burn through chakra almost instantly."

He had long accepted his lack of natural talent.

From his days at the academy to the Third Great Ninja War, he had always been a background figure. And yet, here he was.

In today's ninja world, how many others could even wield a Truth-Seeking Ball?

He had surpassed so many of those once ahead of him.

Kagami gazed into the distant sky, eyes deep with resolve. "So what if I lack talent or chakra reserves? As long as I know my weaknesses, they're not weaknesses at all..."
