Chapter 415: A Good Man.
[Warning, anomaly detected].
"What kind of anomaly?" Sol asked, turning toAlpha after she had gone through the trouble of issuing a warning while the only people present who would need protection were Talia, Sara ana maybe Fuhua.
"I do not know, it has the properties of a black hole but the physics are unlike anything I have ever seen before." Alpha looked at him, also confused about what she was looking at in the epicentre of the explosion with Ikaris and Dina.
"Are they...?" Sol stepped outside of the barrier that the system had created and immediately he shielded his eyes again, it was bright, impossibly bright. "What the hell is that?" He asked.
"Master, should I intervene?" Alpha and Jena asked in tandem, pulling everyone's attention fro the explosion to Sol on the outside.
"No, that's not necessary," Sol raised his hand and snapped his fingers, summoning both Ikaris and Dina to his sides and then holding his other hand towards the anomaly on the outskirts of New Atla's atmosphere.

"Master-"
"Hold that thought," Sol dropped his hand on Dina's head.
"What is it doing?" Ikaris asked, now feeling the same energy that Sol was.
"Analysis complete," Alpha stepped outside of the sphere behind them, watching as Sol's mana trapped the space that had been affected by their clash.
"What the hell is happening?" Sol asked when he realised that he was unable to absorb or extinguish the powers after they had merged.
"It is an absence of causality, master, [Forced Sun] and [Dying Star] are the birth and death of celestial energies that cannot coexist in the same frame of time and space."
"It is a push and pull, a star is trying to be born but it is also tearing itself apart, it has two causes and two effects battling and nullifying each other at the same time, thus, the only thing that is present as they merge is an absence of physics, an absence of causality, null energy."
"Oh..." Sol hummed in thought, this sounded familiar somehow. "Oh!" He smirked and looked at both Ikaris and Dina. "Well done, you two, I am even more impressed now!"
"What did we do exactly?" Dina raised a brow while her appearance returned to normal the same as Ikaris's.
"You've inspired me," Sol chuckled clasping his fist while his hair became a brilliant yellow rather than Gold, and the halo on his back appeared in a totally different form than any of them had ever seen before.
Arla, Ikaris, Dina, Sara and Talia all jerked in shock when Sol's presence vanished, although he clearly stood before them, but before they could say or do anything the slowly growing abomination of power vanished in a pop, leaving a warped space emptied of mana in its wake.
"Master Vestic?" Sara called.
"Don't worry, I'm fine," Sol responded. "This is the pure power of The Grey, untainted by my usual mana or anyting else."
"The Beginning...?" Ikaris mused.
"Yes, when it comes to things that make no sense, I have learnt that the Beginning is the best concept created to handle them, the Anomaly is something that could only exist in that place without doing harm," He explained.
"Of course he would figure it out," Jena sighed exiting the bubble with her hand over her forehead, shaking her head in disbelief. "That too before mom or I ever did, what a freak of nature."
"Excuse me?" Sol looked around at her with a crooked grin.
"Uncle, the Beginnig is the only other place I can think of where there is an absence of causality, even though it was conceptualised by creation through light and dark, it was proven later on to have existed before either of them, even though you did not know the science beneath it, you instinctively knew that there was the only place where a similar power could be extinguished."
"Genius..." Ikaris stared at Sol praising his action now that she understood what he had done.
"But to call me a freak of nature-"
"I agree that Master is a freak of nature," Dina raised her hand with a deadpan. "It only makes sense that he can achieve every impossible thing imaginable."
"Seconded," Ikaris also did the same and then one fter the other everyone else, even Xie agreed to the sentiment, leaving Sol pouting at the unfair gangup.
***
Seated in the kitchen around a small table in the corner, once again, Sol found himself lost in the memories of the First Godslayer, it often happened when he had free time, there was something he needed to find, and with the system at his disposal he was tsifting through every occurence like sand.
"Master, may I?" Yu approached Sol, everything had calmed down and New Atla had healed to its former beauty after nearly being devoured by a space-time anomaly, and in the wake of Ikaris and Dina's fight everyone was having a small party.
"Do you have something on your mind?" Sol gestured to the small table he was sitting around and another chair appeared on the opposite side.
"As a matter of fact, I do," She nodded, sitting daintily and accepting the snacks and beverages that Alpha offered as soon as she had settled. she looked at the maid watching her walk over to Sol and then stand behind him with her eyes closed, releasing a breath and smiling.
"Don't let it bother you, unless I assign Alpha to a task which requires all of her power, or ask her to leave for whatever reason, she will not leave my side.
"I apologise if my presence offends you, Lady Zhang."
"It does not," Yu shook her head and then looked at Sol again. "I came to discuss my father, but I do not know how to express what I am trying to say," She admitted. "After what he did, we missed an important window of opportunity, you could have possibly rid yourself of Umbra before he became this powerful, but because he attacked you-"
"Attacked?" Alpha snapped, staring at Yu with an expression of rage that Sol had never seen on her after he had turned to meet her gaze because of her interruption. "Master was attacked by that man?"
"Alpha."
"Apologies, Master," The maid stiffened and then relaxed again, closing her eyes and going still.
"Yes, he was attacked, and very nearly died as well, My father is a sore loser, and a petty man who would resort to underhanded methods to get his way, but what he did, after knowing why you had come seeking help..." She stared at Sol.
"I will understand entirely if you begin expressing a desire to get even, or to settle the score."
"I thought you would be asking that I not take action against him," Sol seemed amused at what Yu had said. "He is your father after all."
"Yes, but given what he caused, and why he did it, I am biased to not take his side even as his daughter, you are my Master, you earned that title fairly, and I agreed to follow your every directive no matter the consequence."
"He had no right to interfere or act out, attacking you the way he did was also an attack on me." Yu turned fully to Sol, sharing a serious glance with him. "I have resolved to cut all ties with him if you would make him an enemy, so if you one day decide to return the favour and go after his life..."
"I don't think it will come to that." Sol leaned on the table resting his cheek on his hand and lazily staring at his drink. "Yu, there is nothing I value more than my family, I know she's not gonna leave me without a good cause, but even then, if one say Sara just upped and left I'd be so unbelievably pissed at the person who took her that I'd probably act the same way out of pure spite, and she is only my adopted sister."
"Imagine what I would do if some smug bastard came and snatched Talia from me."
"The Grand Collective as we see and know it would cease to exist." Alpha chimed in.
"Precisely so," Sol looked at Yu. "I'm not saying I forgive him and I most definitely don't like him, I'll get even with what the bastard did to me, but to go as far as killing the only family you have, I won't take your father from you, dragon heiress."
Yu released a breath of relief as soon as Sol refuted his bloodthirst and slumped onto the table with a long sigh.
"Then," She suddenly stood up and walked over to his side, resting her hand on his head and smiling. "I was right too follow a kind master like you, I won't let the old man off the hook, as soon as I meet the bastard, I'll punch his nose in, and kick his nuts!" Yu exclaimed and then leaned in and kissed the top of Sol's head.
"Master, you are a good man -Hic! if I had met you first I would have definitely courted you."
"Get going." Sol poked her cheek and turned his head away from her breasts pushed against his face, seeing Dina walking towards them after listening to the conversation from the next room.
"I will definitely, beat him up on behalf of you Master Vestic I swear it!" Yu stormed off fuming with herface red and a stagger.
"I thought cultivators would hold their liquor better than that, but she folded after just three bottles," Dina sat across Sol's lap and sighed. "If i'd have known I wouldn't have accepted her challenge."
"You're a little drunk too, aren't you?"
"That's because I finished the fifth bottle with Ikaris and Arla." Dina chuckled, gesturing through the door of the kitchen where the two were having an arm wrestling contest with Sara as a judge and everyone else a spectator.
