The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system

Chapter 343: One of those mornings.

When auntie Mo found her, she was without a smile on her face. The very first reason Mo Qilu attributed to this mood was nerves and the second was the scandal.

"Sweetie, why are you looking so down?" she asked her.

"Nothing mother, it has just been one of those mornings."

She didn't want to share with anyone the vile advice which Lin Qianfan had given her. His greed really knew no limits.

Mo Qilu approached Alix and gave her a hug. It was warm and comforting, just as a mothers hug should be and Alix was greatly comforted by it.

She hugged the older woman back and sought solace in her arms for a few minutes before getting out of the embrace. Her eyes met the clothing package which Mo Qilu's assistant had set down in one of the chairs.

"We should leave soon because i will be late otherwise. I didn't realize that i would need a nice dress or shoes for the competition mother."

Mo Qilu opened the bag and revealed the stunning black dress before helping Alix change. "How can you go dressed shabbily? Don't you know that these competitions are a big deal? Some people find sponsors and rise to fame through the competition. I have done so much research about it. Last year's contestants were all dressed smartly as if they were attending a gala. I am going to make sure that my pretty baby is the best dressed there just in case you get points for looks."

Alix's brows shot up curiously and her lips curled al title bit, forming a curious smile. She wanted to assure Mo Qilu that only one's violin skills were judged in the competition and they didn't care even if you played dressed in rags.

"This is only the second round mother, i don't think anybody else is going to be wearing a dress worth almost quarter of a million."

She was referring to the dress Mo Qilu had brought for her. Alix recognized the brand and knew how much their dresses cost because she had some clothes in the closet from there.

"I beg to differ Alix, one of your competitors is the son of Rui cooperation. If you don't think that he will be dressed in a customized brand name suit then you are mistaken. He is called, Rui Yu Zhen and he has been studying abroad at one of the best music schools in the world. He is a violin prodigy that returned home three months ago to make a name for himself. Rumor has it that he could win this competition."

As Mo Qilu talked, Alix wondered if Mo Qilu had got any sleep. She didn't have all this knowledge the last time they had seen each other. It was either that or she chose not to share it at the time.

"Mother, did you stay up all night doing research?"

"Why should i do research when i have three sons for that?" Mo Qilu giggled.

She stepped aside and observed the dress. It was perfect, she thought.

"Now, a classy jacket and boots to match." she said.

A knock on the door made them both turn their heads.

"Come in." Alix called out.

The door was opened and Bi Cang entered with a bouquet of peonies.

"Young madam, you have a delivery."

He placed the flowers on the table carefully and Alix's fingers went for the card that was visible.

I don't know which is more beautiful, the flowers or the woman receiving them. Good luck today my wife.

Your husband, Z.C

She didn't realize that she was reading the words out loud and only became aware when she heard Mo Qilu's response.

"Awww, so cute." Mo Qilu said.

Alix blushed and smiled shyly before putting the card away. She bent her head down and sniffed the flowers.

Mo Qilu in the meantime picked up the violin case and the bag Alix always carried with her. Gently, she nudged Alix towards the door.

Alix persisted in carrying her flowers and taking them with her. She had no plans of returning to the school after the competition. She planned to go to the hospital and visit Billi finally.

Mo Qilu told her as they were walking, "You bagged a wonderful man sweetie. Even in the midst of all that is going on in his family, he still remembered to give you flowers and wish you luck."

"He is very good." she mumbled.

"Have you talked to your mother-in-law today? Should i call her? I have been meaning to call and check up on her but i am not sure if it's appropriate in this situation."

"She considers you a friend. I am sure she will appreciate a call." Alix told her.

Along the way as they walked, they nodded or smiled at a few students, teachers and non teaching staff they came across. Alix could hear most of them talking about a variety of things. Every other second or so, she heard someone mentioning the scandal.

She sighed and wondered where the information had been leaked from.

Was it in house or did it come from one of the lawyers involved in the case. Or perhaps it was Nana. In these circumstances, Nana was her biggest suspect because she had the most to gain.

The woman had not made it a secret that she wanted Yura out of the marriage and desired public acknowledgement as Zhang Xian's wife.

It was definitely Nana, she concluded.

With those thoughts and more while they discussed other things, they arrived in times at the conservatory and took a seat in the auditorium, watching other contestants perform as Alix waited for her turn.

She was the thirty third contestant which is why she had not rushed to the venue.

The competitors were performing in the order they had assigned. The fifteenth competitor was currently performing so Alix was sure she had time.

Apart from the sound of the violin, the entire venue was quiet. Alix with her sharp hearing could hear vividly the scribbling of the pens as the judges took notes, recording their observations.

The one that had been playing finished and left the stage without an applause or a single praise from the judges.

"Number sixteen." someone called.

A tall young man, with short curly cropped hair, in a perfectly tailored ash grey suit stepped on the stage, bowed his head and sat down on a plastic yellow in the center.

Mo Qilu leaned towards Alix and whispered, "That's him, the Rui boy."

Alix leaned forward with interest and sharpened her ears. If all Mo Qilu had said was true then he might as well be her biggest competitor.
