Chapter 548 - 548: Great Fortune with Women

Chapter 548: Chapter 548: Great Fortune with Women

Chen Jiahai also went up to give his speech, but his mood was clearly spoiled by Ouyang Feifei’s behavior. He just spoke a few polite words and expressed the hope that there would be a good collaboration with the high-level medical seminar before he stepped down from the podium.

The host quickly announced that the evening’s self-service banquet had officially begun, encouraging everyone to enjoy the meal and exchange ideas.

A self-service banquet like this would normally not happen at a medical study class or seminar. Its occurrence depended on who the attendees were. With a higher number of senior officials and prestigious guests, the quality of the event rose accordingly, as did the scale of the hospitality.

If there wasn’t such upscale hospitality, guests like Ouyang Feifei and Chen Jiahai definitely wouldn’t have come.

Even if they had, the organizers would have been ashamed of the inadequate reception.

As the self-service banquet began, Ouyang Feifei whispered to Luo Ziling, “Stay by my side, don’t wander off alone.”

Luo Ziling, who had hoped to hide and gorge himself on food, could only comply with a hint of dissatisfaction, adhering to Ouyang Feifei’s arrangement without straying from her side.

Ouyang Feifei was the most dazzling star at the banquet, her presence overshadowing everyone there. The other female guests felt inferior in her presence, while the men’s gazes varied as they looked at her.

Many men naturally thought how wonderful it would be to possess such a stunning beauty.

A great number even felt that a night of joy with such a beauty would be worth a decade off their life.

Of course, Luo Ziling was also one of the most watched people, with many women’s eyes lingering on his face.

Partly because of his handsomeness, and partly because of the contrast with Ouyang Feifei.

However, Luo Ziling did not enjoy this sensation.

Ouyang Feifei did not move around the banquet; she just stood there quietly, holding a glass of red wine, waiting for someone to come over to toast or greet her.

Chen Jiahai was the first to walk over. He approached Ouyang Feifei with a glass of red wine, smiling, and said, “Feifei, I’m so glad to meet you here today. Knowing you’d be here made me decide to come. Let me offer you a toast, and hope you become even more beautiful.”

“Thank you,” Ouyang Feifei said lightly as she saw Chen Jiahai down his drink. She took a small sip of her own wine and said no more.

Ouyang Feifei was always like that, and Chen Jiahai took no offense. He poured another glass of red wine and turned to toast Luo Ziling.

“Mr. Luo, I dare not drink too much with you. Getting drunk would be a bad idea, so let’s just have a little,” Chen Jiahai said, taking a sip just like Ouyang Feifei.

“You’re too kind,” Luo Ziling replied, swiftly finishing his glass. He poured another full one and toasted to Ouyang Feifei, “Thank you for bringing me to this banquet, allowing me to meet so many authorities in the field of medicine. And thank you for personally preparing me earlier, I am overwhelmed, a toast to you.”

“As long as you’re happy,” Ouyang Feifei said, and boldly finished her glass of wine, then held up her empty glass towards Luo Ziling as a gesture.

Seeing this, Chen Jiahai was furious, nearly losing his composure on the spot.

Ouyang Feifei had merely sipped when he toasted her, but had finished her whole glass when Luo Ziling toasted her.

Even if his IQ were halved, he could figure out what that meant.

Ouyang Feifei’s attitude toward him was completely different than her attitude toward Luo Ziling.

Through the small act of drinking, Ouyang Feifei also unmistakably conveyed a message to him: she saw Luo Ziling in a different light and regarded him highly, while she treated him rather nonchalantly. If he had a knife or a gun in his pocket, he might have stabbed Luo Ziling or shot him on the spot, killing this pretty boy right there and then.

When had Mr. Chen, scion of the Chen Family, ever been slighted like this, insulted so openly to his face?

Continuing to stay by Ouyang Feifei’s side would only bring more humiliation. He couldn’t outfight Luo Ziling, couldn’t outdrink him, and seemingly couldn’t best him in looks either—today, Luo Ziling dressed sharper, and even his facial features were more attractive than his own. Although Chen Jiahai was quite confident about his own appearance, he knew he couldn’t compare to Luo Ziling. Therefore, after politely excusing himself, he left Luo Ziling and Ouyang Feifei.

As Chen Jiahai hurriedly left, he almost bumped into another lady holding a wine glass and didn’t apologize. Instead, he barked at her before storming off, leaving the lady to apologize profusely and shaking with fright. Luo Ziling couldn’t help but tease, “He seems jealous, quite angry.”

“Aren’t you pleased?” Ouyang Feifei glared at Luo Ziling irritably. “You deliberately said twice today that it was I who dressed you. Of course he’s going to be infuriated.”

“Alright, I admit I’m quite happy today. How about another drink with you?”

Seeing Luo Ziling’s smug look, Ouyang Feifei rolled her eyes again. “Are you trying to get me drunk?”

“Not at all,” Luo Ziling shook his head. “Never mind then!”

But to Luo Ziling’s surprise, Ouyang Feifei picked up her half-filled glass, gave him a signal, and drank from it.

After watching dumbly for a moment, Luo Ziling had no choice but to finish his drink too.

“I’m going to grab some food; I’m hungry. Let’s fill our stomachs first. Drinking on an empty stomach is bad for the health,” he said, and without waiting for Ouyang Feifei’s reaction, quickly ran off to get something to eat.

Ouyang Feifei remained standing there, knowing full well that plenty of people would come to toast her. Even when Chen Jiahai was present, preparations were underway.

With Chen Jiahai and Luo Ziling gone, Ouyang Feifei was left standing alone, and it wasn’t long before officials approached her to make conversation or offer toasts. Ouyang Feifei responded simply, drinking very little—just elegantly sipping and politely replying to their words.

Ouyang Feifei was the object of envy for all the women and the focus of attention for the men, whereas Luo Ziling had the opposite effect; he was the focus for the women and the object of envy for the men.

When Luo Ziling left Ouyang Feifei’s side to get food, many women approached him to make acquaintance, and they were all very enthusiastic, vying to take a photo with him and asking for his WeChat or phone number, which left Luo Ziling somewhat bemused.

In the end, he used the excuse of not carrying his phone with him to reject their requests for contact information but didn’t refuse to take photos with them.

What he found ridiculous was that during the photo-taking, some of the women even took the opportunity to take liberties with him; one somewhat attractive, married-looking woman went so far as to touch his face and press her chest against him.

“Handsome, I’m staying in room 506. Come up for some tea when you have time. I’d love to learn about traditional medicine from you,” invited the woman who had taken advantage of Luo Ziling.

Frightened, Luo Ziling quickly escaped from their midst and hid back by Ouyang Feifei’s side.
