This Honkai: Star Rail is way too Minecraft!

Chapter 143 - New Module—Sophisticated Backpacks!

A few minutes later, Bailu groggily opened her eyes, and the small dragon horns on her head had grown slightly larger.

Fu Zhu and Dan Heng witnessed this, their eyes meeting in pleasant surprise as they spoke in unison.

"It worked."

Dan Heng immediately stepped forward and asked Bailu, "Bailu, how do you feel?"

Bailu frowned and scratched the top of her head. "My head feels a little itchy. Was I just dreaming? I feel like I've learned a lot of things."

Hearing this, Dan Heng relaxed, a faint smile gracing his lips as he explained, "That was a magical item from Fu Zhu. It helps you quickly master Dan Feng's techniques. You must keep it safe from now on."

Bailu nodded obediently and tucked the Proud Soul Fragment away securely.

Seeing that Bailu's matter was settled, Fu Zhu turned to Dan Heng and said, "Is everything taken care of? We should probably get going then."

Dan Heng nodded, called Bailu over, and the three of them left the side room together.

As they emerged, they immediately drew the attention of everyone in the main hall. A Dragon Master was the first to approach, bowing respectfully to Fu Zhu. "Master Fu Zhu, about your secret technique..."

Fu Zhu knew what he was going to say before he even finished and cut him off with a wave of his hand.

"My apologies, Dragon Master, but that is my secret and it is not convenient to disclose. Since the public disturbance caused by the TNT duplicator has been resolved for today, I will take my leave."

Hearing that Fu Zhu was about to depart, the Dragon Master grew anxious. He was about to say more when Jing Yuan rose from his seat and extended an invitation to Fu Zhu.

"Fu Zhu, Dan Heng, care to join me for a cup of tea?"

Fu Zhu and Dan Heng naturally understood that Jing Yuan was helping them out of a bind and immediately nodded in agreement.

"I am a bit thirsty. I'd love to go with you and sample some of the Luofu's specialty teas."

"Haha, I guarantee you won't be disappointed by the tea on the Luofu. Let's go."

Jing Yuan smiled as he walked out alongside Fu Zhu and Dan Heng. Before leaving the hall, Fu Zhu and Dan Heng didn't forget to turn and bid Bailu farewell.

"See you next time, Bailu."

"Bailu, remember what I told you."

"Okay, see you next time, Big Brother Fu Zhu, Big Brother Dan Heng!"

Bailu waved cheerfully as she said goodbye. Fu Zhu shifted his gaze from her to the Dragon Master, his eyes narrowing. "Dragon Master, Bailu is one of my few friends on the Luofu. I hope that the next time I ask her to come out and play, she will be free."

There was very little Fu Zhu could do for Bailu, and he couldn't arbitrarily change her status among the Vidyadhara. All he could do was use his little bit of fame to make these Dragon Masters treat her better.

The Dragon Master was no fool. Hearing Fu Zhu's words, he immediately understood the underlying meaning and nodded in assurance. "Master Fu Zhu, please rest assured."

With the Dragon Master's guarantee, Fu Zhu felt at ease and followed Dan Heng and Jing Yuan out of the hall. He knew the Dragon Master wasn't an idiot; if they dared to mistreat Bailu after he had said all that, they could forget about ever getting his help to propagate the Vidyadhara race for the rest of their lives.

After the three boarded a starskiff to leave Scalegorge Waterscape, Fu Zhu finally relaxed, stretching with a long yawn.

"Ugh, dealing with those Dragon Masters is such a hassle. I'd rather go back to the Nether and chat with Phantylia. At least we both genuinely want to kill each other."

Jing Yuan, standing to the side, didn't know whether to laugh or cry. He tapped Fu Zhu's arm in mock complaint. "It's not that bad, is it? Although the Vidyadhara covet the secret procreation technique in your hands, they wouldn't go so far as to threaten your life."

Fu Zhu, however, stuck his neck out and retorted, "If they got their way, I definitely wouldn't have any freedom. I have no intention of being stuck in one place for a hundred years."

While it might have sounded like a joke, to Steve, freedom was even more important than life itself!

After all, he could respawn whenever he wanted.

Dan Heng, still worried, turned to Jing Yuan. "The Vidyadhara will probably still seek us out on the Astral Express. I wonder if the General can help us in any way?"

Jing Yuan simply smiled and shook his head. "I'm afraid my help is no longer needed. You weren't here earlier, but while you were gone, Fu Zhu gave the Vidyadhara another huge shock. In their eyes, he is now likely an Emanator of [Erudition]."

Hearing this, Dan Heng looked surprised. He immediately recalled the scene on Jarilo-VI where Fu Zhu was summoned by Nous, and he turned to Fu Zhu.

"You were summoned by Nous again?"

Fu Zhu shrugged with an innocent look. "What can I say? Nous is the most curious being in the entire universe. I enabled a sterile race to have offspring; it would be weirder if He didn't summon me. Don't worry, this was part of my plan. With Nous as my backer, the Vidyadhara won't be bothering us for a while. And besides, we'll be leaving the Luofu soon, won't we?"

Dan Heng considered it and realized it made sense. He stopped worrying and relaxed alongside Fu Zhu, watching the scenery outside the window.

The starskiff landed at a ferry in Chariot Hub. Just as he had promised, Jing Yuan led the two into a teahouse as soon as they disembarked, specifically asking the familiar owner to serve his favorite Luofu Cloud Tea.

Before long, a waiter arrived with a pot of tea and several plates of snacks.

"Please enjoy your Luofu Cloud Tea."

Jing Yuan thanked him, took the teapot, and personally poured two cups for Fu Zhu and Dan Heng.

"Come, have a taste. This Luofu Cloud Tea has a mind-soothing effect. After a long day at work, I always come here for a cup to wash away the day's fatigue."

Fu Zhu and Dan Heng both reached for their cups and took a sip. As the tea went down, its sweet, lingering aftertaste left them feeling refreshed and serene.

"It really is delicious."

"Haha, then drink up."

The three of them continued chatting and drinking, one cup after another. For the most part, Jing Yuan did the talking, with Dan Heng occasionally chiming in, while Fu Zhu gazed out the window and opened his system's module shop.

His achievement points were now plentiful, and it was time to expand his module library. He had originally planned to pick out modules that night back at the inn, but since he had this rare moment of leisure, he might as well choose some now.

Fu Zhu focused his attention on modules with stronger utility functions. As for those that increased his personal damage, he was still undecided, and since he had just gotten a boost from the SlashBlade MOD, he wasn't in a hurry.

The first thing Fu Zhu looked for was a storage-related module. As he traveled with the Express, he had accumulated more and more things. He often had to make choices, finding a place to store some items or simply throwing them away.

Although the discarded items weren't very important, for someone who loved hoarding materials, it was an incredibly painful experience.

Who knew when a material he had thrown away might come in handy in the future?

For storage-type modules, Fu Zhu had two ideas: one was a fixed storage module to be placed on the Express, and the other was a backpack-type module.

After some thought, Fu Zhu decided to purchase the latter first, since he could carry it with him.

And when it came to backpack modules, there was only one definitive choice!

It was also the backpack module he had always liked the most—Sophisticated Backpacks!

The advantage of this module was its ability to store an enormous number of items and the fact that you could place backpacks within backpacks.

Originally, in MC, the stacking limit for most items was one stack, or 64 items. However, the Sophisticated Backpacks module had an upgrade called [Stacking Upgrade]. Once installed in a backpack, it could increase the storage limit by a multiplier.

These stacking upgrades were divided into several tiers: Iron, Gold, Diamond, and Netherite, which could increase the stacking limit by 2x, 4x, 8x, and 16x respectively!

What was even more terrifying was that you could install multiple stacking upgrades, and their effects would multiply!

For example, two Iron-tier stacking upgrades would provide a 4x increase, and three would provide an 8x increase!

As long as you had enough backpacks and enough space, packing up the entire Luofu and taking it with you wouldn't be a problem.

Furthermore, Fu Zhu had a small, brilliant idea, inspired by the Proud Soul Fragments from the SlashBlade MOD.

Early on, when he first appeared at the Herta Space Station, the system had informed him that his attack power was determined by the item in his hand, with a minimum damage value of 1.

He had discovered that some items from MC, when brought into the real world, were calculated based on the weight of their real-world materials. So, if he stuffed a Sophisticated Backpack full of things, its weight would reach an incredibly exaggerated level.

If he then used that backpack to smash someone, wouldn't he be swinging with a force of tens of thousands of tons?

Wouldn't any enemy below the level of an Emanator be smashed into pieces by that kind of force?

The more Fu Zhu thought about it, the more he felt it was worth a try. After all, if even a Proud Soul Fragment could replicate someone else's skills, there was no reason other modules should have any bugs.

With that thought, Fu Zhu immediately purchased the Sophisticated Backpacks module. He would save the remaining achievement points to pick out some other utility modules later that night at the inn.

[Sophisticated Backpacks module has been installed]

As the system notification sounded, a whole new host of recipes appeared in Fu Zhu's JEI item management module.

Seeing so many new recipes, Fu Zhu was itching with anticipation. He turned directly to the chatting Jing Yuan and Dan Heng and announced, "I'm going to buy some things. Does anyone want to go shopping with me?"

Jing Yuan and Dan Heng were taken aback by his sudden declaration.

The three of them, all men, going shopping?

Jing Yuan and Dan Heng thought about it and gave a firm pass. They'd rather stay here and drink a few more cups of tea.

"I'm not going. I was playing hooky from work. I have to get back to the Seat of Divine Foresight to handle official business later."

"Me too. My identity isn't exactly convenient for walking around the Luofu. I'll head back to the Express shortly."

Seeing them both decline, Fu Zhu felt it was a bit of a shame. If it had been Xing and March 7th, the two of them would have surely accepted his invitation, and might have even eagerly invited him to go shopping themselves.

"Alright then, I'll go by myself. See you later."

Fu Zhu decisively stood up from his seat. To save time, he even jumped straight out the window, executing a perfect water-bucket landing before striding quickly towards the commercial district.

Jing Yuan and Dan Heng poked their heads out the window, watching Fu Zhu's receding figure, utterly dumbfounded. Jing Yuan grumbled, "Why is he in such a hurry? Does he desperately need something?"

Dan Heng, who understood Fu Zhu better, explained to Jing Yuan, "He's probably planning to build some strange new gadget, that's why he's in such a rush. We on the Express are already used to it."

"Tsk, tsk. I hope whatever he builds this time isn't too outrageous. The last incident involved Phantylia, and this time it was the Vidyadhara. Surely he can't spring another surprise on me again, can he?"

Dan Heng just silently drank his tea. With anyone else, he wouldn't be so sure, but with Fu Zhu, there was bound to be a surprise, big or small.

Back in Scalegorge Waterscape, after seeing off Fu Zhu and the others, the Dragon Master named Xianmei had his people take Bailu and the infants away. He himself sat down in his chair, sighing in despair.

A moment later, several other Dragon Masters strode in, calling out as soon as they entered the room.

"Xianmei, what was the result? Did Master Fu Zhu agree to help our Vidyadhara race?"

The Dragon Master called Xianmei lifted his head from his chair and gave the group a weary look before shaking his head.

"Master Fu Zhu was unwilling to speak. It seems getting his help will be difficult."

Hearing this, the other Dragon Masters all frowned, beginning to speak all at once.

"What are we going to do? The hope for our race's revival is right in front of us..."

"Dan Heng is also unwilling to hand over the Marvelous Method of Dragon Transformation. What's to be done? Are we just supposed to watch as the Vidyadhara decline step by step?"

"Still talking about the Marvelous Method of Dragon Transformation? What era are we in? That method is long obsolete! After seeing Master Fu Zhu's secret technique, who would even look twice at the Marvelous Method? Do you want a repeat of what happened back then?"

Xianmei was getting a headache from all their bickering. Just as he was about to reprimand the group, his phone rang. He pulled it out, saw the caller ID, and froze. He immediately barked, "Quiet! It's Hanyuan-jun!"

"What?! Hanyuan-jun from the Xianzhou Fanghu?"

Instantly, all the Dragon Masters fell silent.

Xianmei answered the call with utmost care.

"Lord Hanyuan-jun?"

Xianmei listened intently to Hanyuan-jun on the other end of the line, nodding periodically. Several minutes later, he finally hung up.

The other Dragon Masters immediately crowded around him.

"What did Hanyuan-jun say? The Fanghu must have heard about Master Fu Zhu. Did Hanyuan-jun offer any solutions?"

Xianmei stroked his beard, his brow furrowed in thought.

"Hanyuan-jun said we cannot force the issue. We can only forge a good relationship with Master Fu Zhu. He also proposed a theory... Hanyuan-jun said, is it possible that Master Fu Zhu is a walker on the Path of [Immortality]... or rather, that we should make Master Fu Zhu a walker on the Path of [Immortality]... or one of our own kin?"
