Chapter 9: Chapter 9 Homelander Naruto?
As the 'ding' sounded, the voice Naruto had been longing for finally spoke.
[Standing at the crossroads of life, the system will issue the second life choice for the host. Your choice will determine your future destiny.]
[Faced with malicious, ignorant villagers, your choices are:]
[Option One: As the reincarnation of Asura's Chakra, you deeply love everything about the village. Kneel before them now, apologize, and beg for their forgiveness, hoping to earn their recognition. Reward: Wood Release.]
[Option Two: As the inherently evil demon fox, do whatever you want. Make these fools understand exactly what they've provoked. Make the villagers of Konoha fear you even more. Reward: Sharingan.]
[Please make your choice carefully.]
As the system's voice faded, Naruto's growing hatred and malice came to a sudden halt. He stood frozen, his head lowered so no one could see the shock in his eyes.
'As expected, the system's rewards were anything but ordinary.'
'Although the content of the first option is a bit too disgusting, it does fit the character of the reincarnation of Ashura Chakra. Whether it is the original Naruto or Hashirama, they are people who would do such things. No wonder the system would give a Wood Release.'
[Hashirama: For the peace of the Ninja World, I'll bow to you all!]
[Madara: For the peace of the Ninja World, you'll all bow to me!]
But this was Wood Release… the power that had ended the Warring States Period, founded Konoha, and distributed the Nine Tailed Beasts. To be honest, Naruto was tempted. Although Wood Release varied in strength, he wasn't like Yamato. In a few years, with his Chakra and the Nine-Tails combined, he could rival half of Hashirama's power. By then, he might even approach Hashirama's level of strength.
But if he chose that path, what would all his training over the past year and a half mean? What would all the malice he'd endured over the years amount to?
'I, Uzumaki Naruto, should do whatever I wanted!'
"Kurama, lend me your Chakra."
'I'd figure out how to explain things to that old bastard later. For now, I need to shut these people up.'
"Heh heh heh, hahaha! Take as much as you need. These trashes dare to treat my Jinchuriki like this?!"
A flood of Chakra, filled with rage, hatred, chaos, and malice, poured into Naruto's body, but it couldn't affect him in the slightest.
A blood-red Chakra Cloak enveloped Naruto, and a single tail of Chakra slowly extended from his back.
"W-what is that?"
"That's a tail!"
"He really is the demon fox!"
"Run! Run!"
"The demon fox is here to destroy Konoha again."
The villagers, who had been hurling stones at Naruto, were now terrified out of their minds, scattering in all directions. They hadn't expected that Naruto, whom they'd bullied for years, was truly the demon fox. They just wanted to vent their frustrations, not actually courting death.
In moments, the only ones left were a few villagers paralyzed by fear and several Root Ninja who had been secretly manipulating the crowd.
It can only be said that the root ninjas are indeed brainwashed Ninjas. Even facing Naruto in this state, they only had a few drops of cold sweat on their foreheads, and then they immediately assumed combat stances.
By now, Naruto appeared to have lost consciousness. His blue eyes had turned blood-red, with black vertical pupils glowing like needle points.
Naruto crouched low, his limbs on the ground, ready to pounce. The overwhelming, malicious Chakra radiating from him made the Root Ninja feel as if they were facing a great enemy.
They were just brainwashed, but the instinct of living things still existed. The one in front of them is a real monster.
Boom!
"Stand back!"
At this time, a cloud of white smoke erupted, and two elderly men in combat attire, along with a group of Anbu Ninja, appeared on the scene. Danzo, his face grim and his single eye shadowed, had only wanted to provoke the Jinchuriki into showing hostility toward the village so he could lock him away. He hadn't expected the Jinchuriki to actually lose control, and in the center of Konoha, no less.
He could already feel the weight on his shoulders growing heavier.
This test had been his idea. If things went wrong, his chances of becoming Hokage would only grow slimmer.
He decided to take the initiative.
"Huruzen, it seems the Jinchuriki should indeed be trained as a weapon of war."
"Shut up, Danzo," Hiruzen said coldly, glaring at his old friend. "Root has crossed the line. After this, I'll personally deal with your Root."
Hiruzen had no patience for Danzo's excuses.
Danzo's eye widened in disbelief as he stared at his friend of decades. Even though all four of them had agreed to this plan, Hiruzen was once again trying to pin all the blame on him.
"We need to calm Naruto down first. Thankfully, it's only one tail."
Hiruzen looked relieved. After all, one tail was something he could handle.
He bit his right thumb, quickly formed hand seals, and slammed his palm on the ground.
"Summoning Technique: Enma!"
A puff of smoke later, a monkey wearing a tiger-striped vest, a ninja uniform, and a Konoha forehead protector appeared before him.
"Hiruzen, who are we fighting this time..."
The monkey, Enma, began to speak but stopped when he saw the figure crouched on all fours, enveloped in the Nine-Tails' Chakra Cloak, with a single tail swaying behind him.
"Enma, Adamantine Staff."
Hiruzen didn't waste any time. Enma immediately transformed into a black staff, which Hiruzen gripped tightly.
"Naruto, calm down!"
Hiruzen leaped into the air, swinging the staff down toward Naruto with full force.
'This old bastard, he came really fast.'
Naruto cursed inwardly. He didn't want to fight Hiruzen right now, especially since he had to maintain the appearance of being out of control. Fighting back would ruin the act.
Moreover, he could only access a small portion of the Nine-Tails' Chakra at the moment. With just one tail, he stood no chance against Hiruzen.
He pushed off with all four limbs, his body shooting like a red streak toward a nearby building.
Boom!
Boom!
Suddenly, two loud explosions echoed almost simultaneously. Hiruzen's staff struck empty air, while Naruto crashed headfirst into the building.
Before he could get far, Naruto felt as if he had slammed into an impenetrable wall of air. The impact left him dizzy, nauseous, and unsteady on his feet.
'Fuck, there is a barrier!'
'Looks like I won't be able to be a Homelander today.'
Naruto's head was still ringing, but the sound of approaching footsteps quickly brought him back to his senses.
'Damn it, this is the only way for now.'
At least he had completed the system's task. The inherently evil Konoha's villagers had seen the true power of the demon fox, and with the barrier in place, he couldn't cause any more destruction.
So Naruto immediately dropped to the ground, his face contorted in pain.
By the time Hiruzen and Danzo arrived, they found Naruto lying on the ground, covered in injuries and writhing in agony.
"Naruto, how are you feeling?"
Hiruzen asked with concern, though he kept his distance.
Hearing the voice, Naruto looked up and saw Hiruzen and the one-eyed old man. Tears and snot immediately streamed down his face.
There was no way… it hurt. He had used the Nine-Tails' Chakra to cut his skin all over his body to make the 'out of control' act convincing.
"Grand... Grandpa Sandaime, I-I'm sorry... I hurt the village... Waaah."
Hiruzen's eyes lit up, 'Naruto had actually suppressed the rampage on his own!'
He stepped forward and gently picked Naruto up, then asked softly: "Can you tell Grandpa what happened just now?"
'This old man is really impatient. Doesn't he know it hurts so much…'
Instantly, Naruto's tears and snot flowed even more.
"Just now, everyone was calling me a monster, a demon fox... I felt so wronged. I just wanted to be accepted by everyone…"
"Then… then the fox told me that if I gave it control, it could make everyone accept me. But... but it just wanted to hurt everyone."
"This..."
Hiruzen was at a loss for words, but the pride in his eyes was unmistakable, 'Naruto's Will of Fire was purer than anyone else's. That was why he had been able to suppress the Nine-Tails' rampage on his own.'
"Hmph! Since he was tempted once, it'll happen again." Danzo on the side couldn't help but mutter with a dark face.
"Shut up!"
Hiruzen glared at Danzo, silencing him. Hiruzen was genuinely angry this time, 'Thankfully, Naruto had suppressed the rampage, or Konoha would have suffered greatly.'
"Naruto, what will you do if the big fox talks to you like that again?" Hiruzen asked, his face full of kindness again.
'This old man really has no heart. I'm covered in blood, and he won't even send me to the hospital?'
"Grandpa Sandaime, I'll never listen to the big fox again. It's evil. It just wants to hurt everyone. No matter what it says from now on, I'll…" Naruto's head tilted to the side as his consciousness entered the seal space, and he 'passed out'.
"This..." Hiruzen was momentarily stunned by Naruto's sudden collapse, but upon seeing the numerous wounds on his body, he realized his mistake. He had been too hasty.
"Someone."
"Hokage-sama."
Three Anbu members appeared before Hiruzen, bowing in unison.
Hiruzen carefully handed Naruto to one of them and ordered: "Take Naruto to the hospital and treat his wounds."
"Yes." The three figures vanished as quickly as they had appeared.
"It seems even the Nine-Tails can't shake Naruto's Will of Fire." Hiruzen said to Danzo, with a hint of pride in his voice.
"Even if the Jinchuriki suppressed the rampage, he still caused harm to the village."
Danzo's implication was that Naruto had now confirmed the rumors of being the demon fox.
After hearing this, Hiruzen's expression turned cold, and he said in a deep voice: "Since this incident was your doing, you'll be responsible for mitigating its impact."
"In two months, Naruto must enroll in the Academy. If not, you'll have to solve the future funding for the Root by yourselves."
With that, Hiruzen disappeared in a flash, leaving to calm the frightened villagers.
Only Danzo remained, his face dark and his posture hunched, as if weighed down by an invisible burden.
"Wh-where did Naruto-kun go?"
Much later, when Hinata, panting heavily, returned to the scene, all she saw was chaos and a few villagers still trembling in fear.
At this time, she noticed a group of familiar figures, who were the boys who had bullied her earlier. At this time, they're huddled together, chatting.
Hinata ran over, biting her lip. Despite her nervousness, she mustered the courage to ask, "Where is Naruto-kun?"
"You're that demon fox's companion!"
"You're a monster too."
"Get lost!"
The boys, still shaken from their encounter with Naruto, lashed out, ready to attack Hinata again.
Hinata's eyes instantly turned red, and the image of Naruto, covered in blood, flashed before her eyes again.
'Because of my weakness, Naruto-kun had been hurt so badly.'
'Why?'
'Why is someone as kind as Naruto-kun called a monster?'
"Obviously you're the real monsters!"
Hinata's voice trembled as she shouted. Her pure white eyes, which were once filled with weakness, now burned with determination, and the veins around them bulged fiercely.
