Tom In The Multiverse

Chapter 24: Chapter-24

"Blue Spider Lily!" Gyokko was so shocked that he almost jumped up.

In the past few months, Upper Moons 4 to 6 were sent to the United States by Muzan Kibutsuji. Upper Moon 4, Hantengu, was the first to arrive, accompanied by Lower Moon 2, Enmu. However, Enmu's mission was to control the Infinity Cruise and use it as a means of transportation. Finding the Blue Spider Lily was not part of Enmu's task.

Not long after, because Hantengu had failed to gather any information about the Blue Spider Lily, Muzan sent Gyokko to the United States, hoping to accelerate the process. Gyokko also heard that after him, Upper Moon 6, Daki, and Gyutaro would soon be sent. However, Muzan had not contacted Gyokko or the others recently, so Gyokko was still unaware that Daki and Gyutaro had been killed.

They continued to loyally carry out Muzan's orders, doing their utmost to find traces of the Blue Spider Lily in the United States. Over the past few months, both Gyokko and Hantengu had gathered some clues, but they were scattered and vague. Therefore, Hantengu went to a town further west called Valodin, while Gyokko came to Lodz. These two places were rumored to be where the Blue Spider Lily had been sighted in ancient legends.

Despite being in Lodz for some time, Gyokko had questioned many people, yet no solid news surfaced. This frustration had been building, making Gyokko increasingly anxious.

At that moment, Tom suddenly painted a picture of the Blue Spider Lily, instantly catching Gyokko's attention. Since Tom could paint it so accurately, perhaps he knew more about the flower itself.

"If I can find the Blue Spider Lily before Hantengu, Lord Muzan will surely favor me more!" Gyokko thought to himself, relishing the idea of being rewarded for helping Muzan achieve his ultimate goal. To serve Muzan was the highest honor.

Excited by this opportunity, Gyokko temporarily abandoned any pretense of artistry. He shouted in Tom's direction, "That cat! I need to speak with you!"

Hearing this, Tom's suspicions were confirmed—Gyokko was indeed hunting for the Blue Spider Lily. Meanwhile, Inosuke, standing nearby, didn't understand what Gyokko was shouting in English but could read Tom's expression. He knew their plan had worked and that a fight with the demon was imminent!

Inosuke, who had been holding back to avoid blowing his cover, was now on edge, ready to charge at Gyokko. To avoid arousing suspicion earlier, he had stayed silent, which had been agonizing for him. But now that Gyokko had taken the bait, all pretenses of artistry were abandoned.

Leaving the four world-famous paintings behind, Tom and Inosuke followed Gyokko away from the crowd. As they walked off, the townspeople looked at one another, unsure of what had just transpired. Once Tom, Inosuke, and Gyokko had completely disappeared into an alley, the townspeople suddenly erupted into chaos, rushing to grab the abandoned paintings.

Meanwhile, in the alley, Gyokko had lost all patience. He spun around, grabbed Tom by the neck, and growled, "Tell me where the Blue Spider Lily is, or I'll kill you now!"

As his anger flared, the black robe he wore shredded to pieces, revealing his true monstrous form. Gyokko's body was grotesque—white, with yellow eyeballs, green lips, and purple fins sprouting from his head. His mouth grew where his eyes should have been, and several small arms extended from various parts of his body. Among demons, Gyokko's appearance was among the most disturbing. In any other context, his visage would have driven onlookers to madness.

Despite being grabbed by the neck, Tom remained eerily calm. "So, it's true," he remarked. "You are looking for the Blue Spider Lily."

"What?!" Gyokko was taken aback by Tom's nonchalance.

In that moment of distraction, Inosuke, who had been itching for action, finally made his move. "Pig Rush!!!" he bellowed, charging headfirst into Gyokko, knocking the demon out of the alley and into the middle of the street.

As Gyokko stood up, dazed from the impact, he found himself surrounded by Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Tomioka Giyu. "Demon Slayers!" Gyokko spat, realizing he had walked straight into a trap.

At that moment, Tom and Inosuke stepped out of the alley. Tom had shaken off the paint covering his body, revealing his original blue and white fur. Inosuke donned his boar mask once more, gripping his dual Nichirin Swords, looking more excited than ever.

"Do you really think you can defeat me with a few Demon Slayers and a cat? You underestimate an Upper Moon demon!" Gyokko roared as his muscles bulged and scales covered his body. His legs transformed into a fish-like tail, and with a swift motion, he hurled several large pots into the air.

However, before the pots could fly far, they were destroyed by a flurry of silk ribbons shot from Tom's back. Gyokko's eyes widened in disbelief. "Daki's Blood Demon Art! How can this be?"

"Nothing is impossible," Tom replied, unsheathing his Nichirin Blade. "I killed Daki and Gyutaro, and now I possess their Blood Demon Arts. Simple as that."

"This is absurd!" Gyokko roared, trembling with rage. "Blood Demon Arts are unique to us demons! You're just a cat!"

Tom ignored Gyokko's rant, taking slow steps toward him. "Now, answer my question. What other demons have come to the United States? Where are they?"

Gyokko's face twisted with fury. There was no way he would betray Muzan or reveal their plans. The thought of losing to a mere cat enraged him, and he refused to believe this was happening.

"I'll never tell you anything!" Gyokko bellowed.

Just then, a fish with a large mouth fell from Gyokko's body, flopping around on the ground. It gasped and squeaked, "Gyokko! Come to Valodin quickly! I found the Blue Spider Lily! Lord Muzan is preparing to teleport here, and I'm scared to be alone. Hurry!"

Everyone, including Gyokko, stared in stunned silence at the talking fish. For a moment, the entire scene was frozen in awkward stillness.
