Chapter 333 Hot Spring_3
The two companions had just said they wouldn't drink the tea, calling it very ordinary, but the host and the server didn't take issue with them.
Zhong Xingwang was nowhere near as friendly to his two classmates, not coddling them:
"Didn't you just say this tea was very ordinary? It's better you don't drink tea here, just drink plain boiled water, or else brew the tea leaves you brought with you!"
The two men appeared a bit annoyed on the surface at Zhong Xingwang's words; when he had offered it to them earlier, they didn't want to drink it, but now that he was telling them not to, it triggered their rebellious spirit.
"Zhong Xingwang, we've been classmates for years. You come here to have fun and don't bother inviting us, that's fine, but to be so protective of these two girls, they're so young, how could you lay a hand on them!"
"Zhong Xingwang, you're not an old bull looking to graze on tender grass, are you? At your age, by the time they grow up, our kids will be buying soy sauce!"
His two classmates suddenly spouted such words, and Zhong Xingwang wanted to hit them, wanted to scold them.
"Shut up, who here is as filthy as you all, it's just right not to bring you, hmph, don't cause trouble for me. You come here to eat well, drink well, and have fun, just don't start any trouble."
Zhong Xingwang's warning didn't impress the two young masters; they believed they wouldn't lose in a fight, and had previously looked down on Zhong Xingwang for always coming to this remote place for enjoyment.
They even brought classmates along later, thinking it wasn't a big deal, only to find those who had spent over a month here returning to continually rave about how fun it was here and how good the food was.
In anticipation of coming here to play, last winter during the holiday, Zhong Xingwang sneaked out, and they secretly followed, but still ended up losing track of him – fortunately, no other classmates had accompanied him.
Finally, this summer arrived, and knowing Zhong Xingwang would come here to play, two of them pestered him, and another followed along with them and some other children to come here to play.
Upon alighting from the carriage, they were slightly astonished by the construction here, but when it came to food, they had earlier refused ordinary tea because of their status.
They believed their noble stature didn't align with ordinary tea; when leaving home, they brought only the finest tea.
Had it not been for an insufficient supply of water, they probably wouldn't even drink the water here.
Just then, the server brought over the tea, and when these two saw the scalding tea, they really wanted to say the server lacked tact; drinking such hot tea in this sweltering heat would just make them sweat more.
They didn't realize the server did it on purpose. The tea they were poured earlier was lukewarm, to preserve honey's fragrance and effects without using water that was too hot.
But for these two troublemakers who couldn't do much about it, they still wanted to make them sweat a bit.
The two managed to cool the tea slightly by blowing on it, and upon doing so, they found the scent of the tea entering their noses to be quite pleasant.
Ignoring the need to say anything, sweat streaked down their faces, not even bothering to dab it with a handkerchief as they gently sipped the tea, feeling it enter their mouths and throats, bringing immediate relief to their parched throats.
After such a long carriage ride in the summer heat, despite their comfortable journey with food and drink, their throats were dry and raw.
A cup of honey water down the hatch, and suddenly their throats felt much better. Despite pairing it with such hot water and breaking a sweat, they could tell that the water was delicious.
"Another cup of chrysanthemum tea, please."
"I want another chrysanthemum tea too, oh, but not hot, make it chilled."
So, the two men turned chrysanthemum tea into their dinner, drinking cup after cup, having forgotten their earlier intention to go fishing.
Eventually, after drinking tea to the point of burping and slumping unable to move in their chairs.
"What can I say about you two, we're not here for just a day or two. There are more great foods to come, and you might regret skipping dinner tonight!"
After saying this to the two men, Zhong Xingwang had rested enough, so he took the man with the bronze-toned skin and found other classmates to join him. They bought fishing rods and headed to the fish pond outside to go fishing.
Ye Shiqi... I'd rather not sit here stupidly; I'm going home.
Ye Fengqi... After watching the excitement, it turns out that there are idiots among the men from the Capital.
The two sisters didn't bother saying goodbye to the two men. Hosting Zhong Xingwang had already taken some of their time, and now they headed home for dinner.
The two men... We're guests, alright? How can you two country girls just leave like that?
Ah, forget it, forget it. There's no reasoning with little girls; we have a generation gap!
They watched as their classmates and other guests went out to fish, regretting having drunk too much tea and being unable to go outside and fish themselves.
