Chapter 86
They could also use military RVs with greater assurance because they are more durable than regular RVs.
"How many RVs did you get?" Luciel asked again.
"I just asked for 4 RV's."
"Well, it's indeed good enough, even if it isn't equal to the price of the information you gave."
As a military base, the information that Treyton shared with them was very useful. They could use them in training a lot of soldiers who had superpowers.
They could grow their powers quickly compared to the others who hadn't discovered the proper way to use their superpowers.
Treyton's information is very helpful to the base as a whole, so just 4RV's, some supplies, and information about some warehouses isn't enough as payment.
However, they really can't ask for more because they wouldn't even be able to use them properly.
"Yeah, it's not enough, but we can't ask for more. "
"Anyway, it's good that you remembered to ask for RVs than just supplies," Luciel said.
"Of course, I can remember it well. You have mentioned it many times already. How could I just forget it?
You're also the one who discovered most of it, so the things you wanted should naturally be included in the rewards."
"If it included the things I like. Then, what supplies did you ask for?"
"I asked for all necessary supplies that we need. Don't worry, I even asked them to add a lot of snacks for you," Treyton said with a chuckle after seeing him frown a bit when he said his first sentence.
"That's great! So, are we really going to leave tomorrow?"
"Yes, we need to leave immediately. We are still very far from our destination, so we need to move faster."
"Then, do they have any market here or something?"
"Yeah, but it's not big, and it's almost the same as the survivor's market, where you just trade items for anything you like."
"Then, let's go and visit that market later."
"Yeah, let me rest for a while," Treyton said as he hugged him tighter.
"Tsk, you just went to talk for a bit, and now you're acting more tired compared to when you are dealing with zombies."
"It's really easier to deal with zombies. I'll be fine after a while. Just let me hug you for a bit," Treyton said, closing his eyes while hugging him.
Luciel didn't say anything further and just let Treyton hug him while he continued reading comics on his phone.
He really doesn't understand why Treyton was more relaxed in his presence and seemed to get some comfort compared to when he was with the others.
When Treyton was with the others, he always acted as a leader and didn't seem to have worries. But when he was with him, Treyon would sometimes show his tiredness and some of his vulnerable side.
He didn't understand it, but it didn't have much impact on him anyway because he could still read comics, listen to music, or watch movies, so he just let Treyton be.
After resting for almost an hour, both of them went to the market together with Zam and Wes.
When they arrived at the so-called market, Luciel could see that it was more organized compared to the market they saw at the survivor's settlement. At the very least, all the people had their own stalls to display all the things they wanted to trade with other people.
A lot of people were browsing here and there, but it didn't look crowded at all because the space was very wide.
Most of the stalls were displaying different kinds of appliances that might be needed. They were also mostly willing to trade it for any kind of food as long as it's edible.
Luciel looked around the market and hadn't seen anything interesting, so he planned to go back and just continue to lie down on their bed.
"Let's go back."
"Are you sure? You haven't bought anything," Treyton said with a raised rother.
"There's nothing interesting here. Let's just go back," Luciel said.
He just planned to look around the market to see if he could encounter anything interesting, but it seemed that there's none.
"Ok, then let's –"
Treyton wasn't able to finish what he was saying because someone spoke up.
"Luciel, is that you?" Someone said behind them.
"Huh?" Luciel said and then looked back.
When Luceil looked back, he immediately recognized him. Even though the person was very messy because of obvious suffering from the past few weeks, he still recognized him because he was one of the few people he had interacted with before the apocalypse came.
"Nice to see you again, manager," Luceil said while smiling a bit.
He hadn't expected to see Richard again, who had been his manager for only a few days.
"No need to call me manager. There's no such job these days," Richard said while trying to smile.
"Then, I'll just call you Richard."
"Yes, just call me by my name. It's really nice seeing you here," Richard said happily, and then he turned to Treyton and also greeted him, "It's good to see you too, Sir Treyton."
Treyton also nodded to acknowledge his greeting.
"How come you are here?" Luciel asked.
Richard was living in the capital; even if he escaped, he should have just stayed somewhere nearer instead of going to such a far place.
"One of my relatives lives in a nearby town, so when I escaped from the capital, I went here with a few others who were going in the same direction; unfortunately, I haven't seen them. The army was rescuing survivors nearby, so I just followed them here," Richard explained.
"I see. Did you just come here today?"
"No, we arrived here yesterday. Are you guys also going to stay here?"
"No, we just stopped by. We are going to where Treyton's family is, up north. If you want, you could also go with us," Luciel offered.
He could tell that Richard hadn't been living a good life for the past few weeks; that's why he said that he could go with him. If Richard was with them, at least he could live a bit better than before.
"Ha ha, I don't have any superpowers. I don't think I could help much, so it's better not to go," Richard said with a hint of embarrassment.
It was obvious that their condition was good based on the way they dressed, and just based on Treyton's identity, Richard should have seen that their team might be powerful.
In such a team, it will, of course, have a lot of people with superpowers. That's why even if he was willing to follow them, he was embarrassed because he was just an ordinary person.
"No, need to be embarrassed; an addition person isn't a big deal, right?" Luciel said to Richard and then turned to Treyton.
"Yes, of course. As long as you can do something helpful, it's not necessary for you to have superpowers to join. So, what can you do?" Treyton said.
"I-I don't have any superpowers, but I can still kill a few zombies."
"Oh, you've killed some?" Luciel asked, interrupting Richard.
"Yes, I needed to kill some zombies to survive while following others to come here. But I'm not that skilled in doing it; I can only deal with the weakest zombies."
"That's already good. What else?" Treyton said.
"My specialty is, of course, still management, and I am also a good cook," Richard said immediately.
It was obvious that Richard also wanted to follow them, knowing that Treyton was a very capable person.
"You know how to cook?" Luciel asked.
"Yes, if I didn't work as a manager, I should have been a chef because I have been trained to be a chef when I was younger," Richard said with a smile that clearly showed that he was thinking of his memories when he was younger.
"Then, you'll be helping Nina in the kitchen and helping Yang in logistics if you decide to join," Treyton said.
"I will follow; thank you very much!" Richard said happily.
"Then you better go and get your things and follow us to where we live. Wes will accompany you," Luciel said.
"Thank you very much, Luciel and Sir Treyton. I will just go and get my bag," Richard said, and then hurriedly went back to get his things, accompanied by Wes.
Luciel remembered that Richard had a family, but according to the information he gave, he was the only person who was traveling. Richard didn't even ask for any additional slot and just readily agreed to join them to go north. So, his family shouldn't have managed to stay alive.
"You really don't have anything else you want to buy?" Treyton asked him again.
"Yeah, there's really nothing good."
"Then, let's go back," Treyton said.
Both of them went back to their temporary residence. When they arrived, Nina and the others were already preparing their dinner.
