Chapter 21: Cooking Omurice

"I know you haven't eaten yet. How about I make something special for you?" Arthur offered gently.

Sharon was startled and looked at him in disbelief.

"You want to cook for me? Can you even cook?" she asked hesitantly.

Arthur chuckled and rolled up his sleeves. "You underestimate me, Princess. But that's fine. I've never shown you my skills before, after all."

Without waiting for her response, he strode toward the kitchen at the far end of the room.

Having lived alone in Tokyo, Arthur had grown accustomed to cooking for himself rather than eating out.

Well, it wasn't by choice—eating at restaurants in Tokyo was too expensive, often costing twice as much as cooking at home.

Because of that, he had grown quite confident in his cooking skills.

Upon reaching the kitchen, Arthur scanned the neatly arranged ingredients and quickly formed a plan.

Without hesitation, he set to work, a small smile tugging at his lips as he prepared the ingredients.

Meanwhile, Sharon watched him in awe.

'He really can cook,' she whispered.

At first, she thought he was just bragging, but seeing him move so naturally in the kitchen proved otherwise.

Not wanting to interrupt, she walked to the sofa in the center of the room and sat down to wait for Arthur to finish.

Her eyes remained fixed on his back, as if he was the only thing on her mind.

Fifteen minutes passed, and Arthur finally finished cooking.

He carried the dish over and placed it on the table in front of Sharon.

"Try it," he said casually.

Sharon glanced at the plate and blinked in surprise.

"Hmm? What's this?" She asked curiously.

On the plate was a portion of brownish-red fried rice, mostly covered by a soft omelet.

A smiley face, drawn with tomato sauce and hot sauce, decorated the top.

It was such a unique and cute dish that she hesitated to eat it.

"This is omurice," Arthur explained casually. "The rice is fried with a secret seasoning, then wrapped in a half-cooked omelet."

He had considered making other Japanese dishes like yakiniku, yakisoba, or ramen, but they were too time-consuming and required ingredients that weren't readily available.

More importantly, he didn't want Sharon to wait too long and go hungry. So, he settled on something special, simple, and delicious—omurice!

Coincidentally, this dish didn't exist in this world. In other words, Arthur had just created the first omurice here.

Hearing his explanation, Sharon's appetite grew even more. She swallowed and stared eagerly at the omurice in front of her.

But just as she was about to dig in, Arthur suddenly stopped her.

"By the way, it's better if you cut the omelet first."

"Oh?" Sharon raised an eyebrow in curiosity. "Alright, I'll give it a try."

She picked up a knife and carefully sliced the omelet down the middle. Instantly, it unfolded like butterfly wings, revealing its soft, half-cooked interior.

"Wow! This is beautiful!" Sharon gasped in delight.

For some reason, watching the omelet open like that gave her a strange yet pleasant sense of satisfaction.

Arthur rubbed his nose proudly. He wasn't surprised—he felt the same way every time he did it himself.

Sharon took her spoon, cut off a piece of the omelet, and popped it into her mouth.

"Umm! This is delicious!" Her eyes lit up as the rich, savory flavor of the fried rice mixed with the slight saltiness of the egg, the sweetness of the tomato sauce, and the heat of the hot sauce on her tongue.

Without hesitation, she continued eating with enthusiasm, completely forgetting her image as a princess.

Arthur's lips twitched slightly at the sight, but he chose to stay silent.

He knew how sad and dejected Sharon felt after being expelled from the dining hall by the Queen. It was only natural that she needed an outlet for her emotions.

And for her, enjoying a good meal was one of the best ways.

Arthur quietly went to the kitchen, fetched a glass of water, and placed it on the table before standing nearby.

Whether by coincidence or not, just as he set the glass down, Sharon suddenly choked.

"Ahem! Ahem!" Her beautiful face flushed red as she clutched her throat in panic.

Arthur froze for a second before quickly shoving the glass of water toward her.

*Gulp!*

With a single gulp, she emptied the glass and let out a long sigh of relief.

"Hah… I almost took a trip to the underworld," she muttered, looking relieved.

But suddenly—

"Ouch!"

Arthur flicked her forehead, making her wince in pain.

"You idiot! Eat slower. No one's going to steal your food," he scolded, irritated. "If you die from choking, it'll just be a hassle for me."

Sharon knew she had gone overboard and lowered her head guiltily.

"Sorry, Aron."

Arthur sighed and rubbed his forehead before responding in a gentler tone, "Just don't do it again."

Noticing the concern in his voice, Sharon smiled softly and whispered, "Thank you, Aron."

"[Ding! Sharon Valura's affection increased by +3 points.]"

Arthur was slightly startled by the notification. 'Her affection increased just like that?'

Without hesitation, he whispered, 'Mission panel.'

[Information Panel]

[—Tasks to be Completed—]

1. Increase the affection of the main character (Sharon Valura) to 100 points.

Current affection status: 33/100.

2. Help the main character (Sharon Valura) experience the warmth and care she longs for.

Mission progress: 10/100.

3. Assist the main character (Sharon Valura) in rising to become Queen of the Magic Kingdom of Valdom.

Mission progress: Not yet completed.

When he saw that Sharon's affection level had reached 33 points, he couldn't hide his excitement.

'In less than an hour, I've already gained 13 affection points from her. This is a blessing! Tsk, tsk, tsk.' Arthur grinned in satisfaction.

At this rate, he was confident Sharon's affection would hit 100 points within a month.

Of course, that was just wishful thinking. The future held many trials for Sharon—most of them filled with hardship and suffering.

And when those moments came, he had to be by her side, offering support, ensuring she became even more reliant on him.

Ten minutes later, Sharon finished the omurice and patted her stomach in satisfaction.

"That was delicious, Aron. Thank you," she said with an innocent smile.

Arthur simply gave a small nod. "You're welcome."

He gathered the empty plate and glass, then carried them to the kitchen.

But suddenly—

*Knock!*

A firm knock echoed through the room, followed by a woman's indifferent voice.

"Princess Sharon, may I come in? There's an important letter for you."
