Chapter 6: True Infinity - Chapter Five
Dust gestured towards the chalk-board causing it to glow purple as the board began to write itself. "For now we'll be talking about all relevant information in regards to battles. Second Lesson: Color Magic."
Killer just grinned lazily while Infinite was a bit confused. Dust ignored both of them before continuing on. "Color magic is exactly what it sounds like, it's magic that uses colors in attacks. Each color corresponds to a different form of magic. Applying a color to your attack changes how the attack works. For example: cyan color magic causes attacks to phase through you when you are not moving but does significantly more damage if you are."
After Dust says this he points a finger towards Killer causing a cyan bone to sprout from the ground and impale him straight through the skull. Killer didn't even react to the attack while Infinite was startled. Before long the bone faded away leaving no sign it had ever been there at all to begin with.
Dust continued on like nothing had ever happened. "Color magic can also be applied to a being's soul in this case, cyan, it makes it so that if you ever move it will slowly weaken and harm you."
Dust raised his hand towards Infinite but instead of the effect described the gem embedded in the jackal's chest glowed brighter causing Dust to immediately yank his hand as if burned.
"What the hell? I guess we don't need to worry about soul effects being used against you much, Infinite." Dust exclaimed in shock. Infinite was surprised at that, he had felt a strange pressure on his being only for the ruby to react to it and overpower it. It wasn't perfect though considering Nightmare had affected his soul just fine, though he is a god.
Killer snickered a bit at Dust's misfortune who was annoyed at that but decided to ignore it. "Anyway continuing on, Color magic has three levels of mastery, Basic, Skilled, and Advanced. Basic can only be used in attacks, Skilled on people, and Advanced can be used to affect the environment around you. I won't demonstrate that last one since it's not the kind of thing you can really use in training."
"I started with cyan since it's the easiest and safest to demonstrate, also because pretty much every Sans in the multiverse can use cyan and blue magic. Speaking of blue magic, when applied to attacks it makes it so whatever they strike has weight added to it. When applied to the soul it allows the caster to manipulate the gravity centered around the person affected. Of course if you are skilled enough you can use the gravity effect on just their body instead of their soul." Dust explained.
"Why even bother to affect just their body though? Wouldn't using the soul make it more powerful and also harder to break out of?" Infinite asked in slight confusion, though that did explain what Dust had done during that test 'fight' of theirs.
"There's a good reason for that. One, some beings actually don't have souls making the normal way of doing things impossible. Two some have unique or powerful spiritual defenses which make affecting their soul very difficult, as in your case Infinite. Third and finally, keeping a soul effect applied is essentially a battle of wills between two souls which can get pretty exhausting very quickly depending on how strong the person's willpower is. If you know anything about DETERMINATION souls you'd know getting into a battle of wills with one is hell." Dust quickly explained.
Infinite nodded at that while Dust continued. "Next is orange magic, which is the complete opposite of cyan. All attacks require you to move when they connect otherwise they'll do more damage, same for the soul effect. Then we have green magic which makes all attacks heal instead of harm. The soul effect causes varying degrees of paralysis. After that is yellow which makes attacks be imbued with positivity, the soul effect prevents all close-range forms of combat."
Killer snickered at that. "The boss hates yellow magic since it's the kind Dream uses most."
"Speaking of that, we get to purple magic the boss' favorite. All attacks with this magic have negativity applied to them while the soul effect imposes limitations. It can be used to limit movement, strength, speed, or even magical abilities. Finally we have red magic, easily the most powerful and dangerous one. Any attacks imbued with this one are improved in all respects, power, speed, durability, you name it. The soul effect partially negates all forms of durability and makes any attacks used against them far more effective than they might otherwise have been." Dust states.
"Also, Infinite, you should be aware that when the red soul effect is combined with red attacks they become extremely lethal if not outright fatal. Since the combined effect ignores any form of durability and can even negate some forms of invulnerability. Often more or not when the two are combined it usually results in a one-hit-kill." Dust addressed Infinite who nodded in understanding at that.
Interesting, this color magic seemed like it could significantly alter the course of a battle if used correctly. He wondered if he could learn how to use them.
"What color magic are you all able to do exactly?" Infinite requested.
Killer grinned at that before responding. "So you are checking me out huh~? Well I'm the best at red magic out of everyone here. I can also use blue and cyan magic as well."
Dust came next. "Besides the boss I'm the best at purple magic. I can also use blue, cyan and orange magic. Horror knows the basics of red magic and can also use blue and cyan. Insanity is skilled at red magic as well as blue and cyan. Finally there's Cross who frankly is the best at color magic out of all of us. While he doesn't have advanced mastery of any of them, he is very skilled at red, purple, blue, cyan, and orange magic."
Infinite was surprised by that. Apparently Killer was more dangerous than he thought if he was considered the best at the most dangerous form of color magic. Killer just smirked at Infinite who was annoyed at the implication that he'd have to learn anything from him.
Dust just sighed before the board changed to a set of numbers and symbols. "Third Lesson: The System. The system is used as the main method of gauging the abilities and information of others. The main way to use it is of course a CHECK, but since the boss already explained that to you I won't go into any detail. So instead I'll explain what the various stats mean. LV stands for Level of Violence, it's a way of measuring one's capacity to hurt and be hurt. The more people you've killed the higher your LV, usually only those who've murdered entire civilizations can have an LV of 20 or higher. Everyone here except you and Horror has an LV of 20 or above, Horror's is 19 while yours is 12."
Infinite couldn't help but tense a little as what Dust just said meant that basically everyone here has killed millions of people. While that in itself wasn't particularly concerning to him it was the fact that they talked about it so nonchalantly that was the issue. Infinite couldn't help but sigh internally, figures they'd all be S-grade psychopaths. Not that he wasn't a psychopath himself, but even he wasn't that bad.
"As for EXP, that stands for execution points. It's a method of calculating both how many people you've killed and how powerful they were. Having a bunch of EXP can either mean you've killed a lot of weak people or killed one very strong person." Dust states either not noticing Infinite's brief inner turmoil or simply not caring.
"ATK and DEF are pretty self-explanatory, but they measure offensive and defensive power respectively. HP represents both the healthiness of the body and soul collectively. MP which is a stat you don't have since you don't have magic, represents both how strong someone's magic is and also how much of it they have. If you're wondering whether or not you can get magic normally I'd say no since it's a birth thing, but as a True Anomaly you work by very different rules. So who knows maybe you will be able to learn how to use magic, we'll just have to see." Dust finally finishes as the board returns back to an empty black.
Infinite sighs. "I see well even if I'm not able to do so, the Ruby's powers are already formidable on their own."
Dust stood up before moving towards the training area. "For now, we're going to have a more practical approach to what I just told you. This will double as both training and a lesson."
Infinite and Killer followed Dust as they arrived back in the area they fought last. Without any fanfare a small wave of cyan bones erupted from the ground which Infinite easily dodged.
Infinite back-flipped before creating a red cube which was divided into multiple smaller beams. Dust pointed a finger creating multiple sharpened cyan bones which countered the beams.
Infinite dashed at Dust causing a sharp crack of air as he broke the sound barrier several times over in one bound. Dust's eye-lights widened ever so slightly as Infinite created a sword before swinging it at the skeleton multiple times in quick succession in a masterful display of swordsmanship.
Dust dodged the various strikes with almost contemptuous ease, much to Infinite's annoyance. His swordsmanship was the one thing Infinite was absolutely confident no one in his home reality would surpass him in, which included those infuriating hedgehogs. To see it be dodged so easily, even despite his weakened state, was deeply infuriating.
Dust created more cyan bones unleashing a larger torrent of which Infinite sliced through rapidly. The jackal enveloped his sword in a crimson aura before swinging his sword towards Dust in a rapid flurry creating over a dozen small energy slashes at once. Dust created a wall of cyan bones which blocked the attack but before he could counter-attack, Infinite smashed straight through the wall with a single punch before slicing at Dust who teleported out of the way.
'His physical abilities are way higher than his mystical ones. Not to mention he's only using small, weak energy attacks in a very controlled manner. His skills were higher than I thought, especially his physical skills.' Dust thought to himself while blocking a sword slash with two cyan bones that sprouted from the ground in an X formation.
"Hey Dusty, Infinite's kinda messing you up ain't he?" Killer mockingly interjected while watching from the side-lines. Dust just ignored him as Infinite infused his body with energy before taking a low crouch with one leg slightly behind the other. Dust's eye-lights immediately widened as Infinite reappeared right behind him in a flash, his sword swinging downward.
'Fast. He must have gone near Mach 75 for a second there. That's kind of risky though considering the strain it would put on his body.' Dust thought to himself teleporting away once again before summoning a large amount of cyan bones right above Infinite.
Infinite dashed away as hundreds of sharp cyan bones impaled the ground he had been standing on at Mach speeds. The jackal was panting slightly from the energy strain, how irritating. His normal top speed was Mach 250 but with his powers out of wack he could only achieve up to Mach 25 without using energy-based physical amplification. A mere tenth of his normal speed and thus power, to think the True Phantom Ruby would weaken him to this extent. Or was it because of his near-death encounter? Perhaps the damage to his being hadn't actually completely recovered? No, the reason didn't matter, for now he had to focus on the fight at hand.
Infinite raised his hand creating a large red cube. He clenched his hand into a fist collapsing the cube into a hundred small energy beams which fired at Dust. Dust raised his hand, right after he teleported away, causing Infinite to be slammed into the ground as the gravity he experienced increased several times over.
He gritted his teeth as his knees buckled slightly while he stood back up before enhancing his body once again and disappearing towards another part of the make-shift arena. He immediately began swiping his blade in Dust's general direction, performing hundreds of strikes in a fraction of a second. Dust raised his hand towards the wall of hundreds of small energy slashes as four gaster blasters appeared before firing their lasers straight through the slashes. Infinite's eyes widened at the act before blocking the lasers with his blade before deflecting them away while panting heavily.
He was reaching his limit even when focusing more on his physical abilities. Fine then he'd pour every last ounce of energy he had left into one final attack. Maybe then that skeleton would actually take this seriously. Infinite clasped his sword in both hands before raising it above his head. Killer just grinned at the move while Dust stared in confusion-what was he trying to accomplish?
Large amounts of energy gathered around Infinite's sword creating a visible aura of energy and pressure. Infinite gritted his teeth from the strain as he readied his attack and swung his blade downwards unleashing a massive wave of energy. Dust immediately summoned a dozen gaster blasters which fired lasers at the blast while creating a large wall of cyan and blue bones. The shockwave and blast caused by the clash created a cloud of smoke that obscured the surroundings for a bit before clearing.
Dust remained unharmed having considered that essentially a decent workout, barely breaking a sweat, while Infinite was on both hands breathing heavily in exhaustion. Still though, the second fight and Infinite had already gotten him to put in bare-minimum effort to deal with him. Not bad at all especially for someone who has only just started using their powers again.
Dust approached Infinite who was panting while Killer just watched. "Time to rest up for today, we'll continue this tomorrow."
Infinite nodded as both skeletons teleported away, though Killer winked at Infinite before doing so. The jackal took a few minutes to catch his breath before eventually finding his way towards his room and falling asleep. This pattern of training would continue in much the same manner for the next few weeks.

(Main True Pacifist Undertale Timeline)
Dream had returned back to the timeline, despite interfering here being generally not accepted for beings like him. However after what Error and Ink did, Dream felt responsible for the significant spike in negativity in this place. Besides true pacifist timelines were supposed to be some of the most positive timelines anyway.
He had spent the last few weeks helping around and spreading positivity to those who needed it. Though Dream had to admit he was hoping he would find that jackal he had met earlier. He had felt extremely large amounts of negativity coming from him, Anger, Resentment, Vengeance. But he had also felt Guilt and Grief deeply buried underneath everything else.
More than anything he wanted to help the anomaly especially before his brother found him. Who knows what Nightmare would do to him after all, with how much negativity he had it certainly wouldn't be anything good for his mental or spiritual health. Or just his health in general honestly.
For now Dream had largely fixed all the issues caused by the other two's actions. As of now he had spent the last few hours looking for any trace of the True Anomaly. He had been so busy helping everyone else here that he hadn't had the time to really look for him.
Dream sighed as despite his efforts he couldn't sense them in this timeline at all. They couldn't possibly have left could they? There's no way they were strong enough to leave the multiverse on their own.
If they had left this timeline Error would know instantly and then he would- no there's no point in thinking like that. Besides if that had really happened Error would make sure everyone in the multiverse knew he had done it.
Dream sighed as he walked through the city streets not paying attention to where he was going before bumping into someone. "Oh I apologize I wasn't looking-"
"It's fine, also you're that guy that showed up with those other two who wrecked the place aren't ya?" Sans stated while shrugging.
Dream was surprised for a bit before smiling-perhaps he would be able to help. "I was looking for Infinite but I can't seem to find him. Would you perhaps know where he is?"
Sans rubbed the back of his skull. "Sorry, can't help ya there pal. Truth is I've been wondering where he was for myself. It was fine at first when he just disappeared for a few days. Figured he needed time to himself after everything that happened, that, and he's not much for conversation. But no one has seen him in over two weeks."
"I see that's rather unfortunate, I was hoping I could find him." Dream said in disappointment.
"Hey don't be down pal, if you're really that interested in speaking to him maybe you can come to my place." Sans responded.
Dream nodded as the two left for Sans' house, once they arrived Sans took a seat on the couch while Dream looked around. He frowned in confusion as he sensed faint traces of negativity nearby, but it didn't seem to be coming from a person.
Dream followed the trace towards the backyard before coming across a patch of grass. Sans followed the Light God in confusion. "What ya got there pal?"
"I think I may know what happened to Infinite, but you're not going to like the answer." Dream stated while scanning the trace amount of negativity in the small area. There was no doubt that this was definitely his brother's work. 'This isn't good. How did Nightmare know about him? Also why would he take him away?' Dream thought to himself.

(Nightmare's Palace)
Several weeks had passed since Infinite arrived and he had been training almost non-stop with Dust. He had made significant improvements since their first fight and from his understanding this fight would be different from the rest.
Infinite stood across from Dust as they entered the arena once again. Killer, Horror and Cross were watching this time around.
Infinite raised his hand creating a dozen cubes at once which each separated into a rain of small beams. Dust raised his hand creating a large wall of cyan, purple and blue bones to block the attack before immediately dashing away as Infinite tore through the wall with his blade.
Dust summoned two gaster blasters which fired at Infinite who deflected both beams away before unleashing a large wave of energy. Dust teleported out of the way before creating multiple purple flames which flew like mini-meteors towards Infinite.
Infinite dashed away from the flames that exploded where he was just at. He swung his sword once again, unleashing a flurry of energy blades before twirling around and thrusting his sword forward multiple times, firing a beam of energy with each thrust.
Dust teleported multiple times in quick succession before appearing mid-air thrusting his hand out causing hundreds of glowing circles to appear under Infinite. Hundreds of purple spears erupted out of the ground as Infinite cratered the ground from the force of his jump as he swung his glowing blade at Dust.
Dust crossed his arms together to block but when the blade struck him a large crescent blade of energy erupted from the blade. A large cloud of dust formed as the skeleton was sent hurtling into the ground.
Dust quickly got up from the ground teleporting away just in time as Infinite axe-kicked the position like a meteor causing a large crater to form. Over a dozen purple beams pierced the smoke cloud which Infinite deflected all of but one which seared his shoulder slightly.
The jackal raised his hand creating a massive cube which turned into a sphere of crimson energy which fired over a dozen beams of energy toward Dust. The skeleton created a massive wave of purple and cyan bones which he directed towards Infinite.
After the beams struck the wave barely slowing it down, Infinite created another massive sphere of energy this time releasing a massive red beam that vaporized the entire wave. Dust summoned an ornate purple trident, spinning it in front of him blocking the beam of pure power.
Infinite created a rain of energy spikes above Dust who deflected the various beams away with the trident. But before he could retaliate, Infinite cupped his hands to create a shifting mass of energy before releasing it in a large blast creating a red haze across much of the arena and undoing the effects of gravity.
Dust was shocked at the sudden zero gravity before creating a gaster blaster as a platform to orient himself. Thousands of sharpened purple bones appeared behind Dust who fired them at the Jackal.
Infinite responded by swinging his sword upwards with his hands causing a massive pillar of crimson energy to erupt from the ground obliterating all of the bones. The jackal created multiple orbs of swirling energy which he tossed at Dust who flew upon the gaster blaster dodging the various energy spheres before one struck the blaster destroying it.
Infinite undid the zero gravity before raising his sword high before stabbing it into the ground. Dust stepped onto the ground as it slowly began to shake and change color as the gray tile turned a deep shade of red. Dust's eye-lights widened in intense shock while the others watching were also surprised.
Dust immediately created over two dozen gaster blasters pointed at the ground as he teleported onto one of them. Infinite chuckled as the floor erupted in a massive pillar of energy which Dust blocked with a concentrated beam from the multiple gaster blasters.
Before Dust could get a breather the sharp sound of a sonic boom was heard as Infinite sliced all of the blasters in two in less than a fraction of a second. However Dust teleported out of the way just as the swordsman reached him, the skeleton attempted to manipulate gravity around Infinite however the jackal countered with another zero-gravity wave which negated the blue magic much to Dust and the others' surprise.
"Damn, Infinite's doing really well. Dusty might even have to take this seriously in order to beat him." Killer whistled, impressed at Infinite's rapid progress over the last few weeks. Horror nodded in agreement while Cross said nothing.
Infinite raised his blade towards Dust creating another wave of energy which Dust dodged but this one curved towards him afterwards instead of simply going in a straight line. Dust created several massive bones for protection as Infinite appeared behind him at hypersonic speeds, swinging his sword which cut Dust's cheekbone ever so slightly.
"Oh Shit." Killer stated for once actually surprised. Cross simply narrowed his eye sockets at the act.
Infinite despite himself couldn't help but feel a bit of sadistic pleasure after finally hurting that damn skeleton. It was proof that not only was he improving but he was doing so at a massive rate. If he can keep this up in just a few months he should be more than powerful enough to deal with all three of those annoying hedgehogs at once.
Dust fingered the small cut on his cheek as a drop of purplish-red blood fell onto his finger. He had actually hurt him. It was one thing to be fast enough to get a hit off but another to be strong enough to get past his defense. Dust couldn't help but be surprised by Infinite's progress. He went from powerful enough to beat some of the weaker Undyne variants to powerful enough to match some of the stronger Sans'.
Infinite looked at the hooded skeleton who smirked at him raising his hand towards him as his eye-lights flared with magical power. Infinite tensed, Dust was finally starting to fight for real against him. Oh sure Dust had nearly killed him a few times during the training, Nightmare had punished him for that, but that had been a one-sided massacre due to the jackal accidentally triggering him.
But this would be a proper fight, one where Infinite could hold his own at least for a short while. Infinite readied himself as large pillars of purple flame erupted from the ground while a storm of spears blotted out the ceiling and finally dozens of gaster blasters appeared around Dust who was grinning madly. Perhaps he should use THAT against him? Actually probably best not to, he had no idea of strain it would put on his current body not to mention Dust would almost certainly die if he did.
Before either could begin tearing into each other however a massive wave of pitch-black darkness snuffed out both the attacks and much of their desire to fight. "That's enough you two, settle down. Now that Infinite's abilities have reached an acceptable level, I've decided to assign him his first mission. Consider your introductory training sessions to be officially over from here on out."
Nightmare appeared suddenly much to everyone's shock. Infinite shrugged off the feeling of dread as he considered what the god said. He knew he had gotten this powerful but how? He had not seen or spoken to him since their first meeting.
Dust relaxed as Infinite faced Nightmare who continued where he left off. "Now Infinite you will be conducting your first mission in a true pacifist timeline of Outertale. Killer will accompany you for supervision and review. Do not fail me."
Killer grinned as he put a hand on Infinite's shoulder. "Guess that means we're going to be together in another world all alone, that sounds like fun."
Infinite brushed Killer's hand off him in annoyance. Great he'd be stuck with this idiot. Nightmare created a portal that led to the place mentioned, which the two of them went through.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As the two exited the portal they arrived on a small floating speck of island amidst a sea of stars. Infinite was slightly impressed by the sight before turning towards Killer. "What exactly is our mission exactly?"
Killer just grinned sadistically at that. "Our mission is to cause as much chaos and destruction as possible. Give them all the gift of negativity, without killing them that is. Well most of them anyways."
Infinite sighed at that so not that much different from what he had been doing while under Eggman's control then. Personally he didn't care about causing suffering, the sadistic streak he had shown during the war had not entirely been his own.
There was no joy to be had in breaking the weak after all, only the strong. Oh well he had made a deal he couldn't break, besides his vengeance came above anything else. The Dark God had been bound just as much as he when it come to the contract they made, and besides even if their was a loophole Nightmare exploited against him. Once he had grown strong enough he'd be able to break out of it on his own.
Killer teleported away while Infinite arrived in a snow-covered town with various monsters playing around. Infinite walked through the town taking in the sights, it really was such a beautiful place. Oh well, it was hardly the first time he had seen or caused the destruction of such beauty.
To the monsters' confusion the jackal raised one of his hands and before they even knew what hit them a rain of swords and beams fell from the sky devastating large parts of the town. The monsters ran around in a panic as some were impaled, others vaporized and many were crippled for life.
Infinite looked at the devastation with total apathy as he left the survivors to wallow in their misery. He arrived in another area with both humans and monsters living in it. Infinite unleashed a large beam of energy slicing many of the buildings in a wide arc.
Some of the monsters tried to fight back but they were either too weak, too slow, or both. Infinite continued this process a few more times before coming across a city. There he recognized a familiar face.
The Sans of this timeline, Outer. But as a mere alternate timeline he wouldn't be as powerful as the original Outer is. Infinite approached Outer who was floating slightly above the ground. "Well would you look at that? A monster who can actually fly, ain't that rare. I think I might be a little STAR-struck there pal."
Outer chuckled to himself. "Name's Sans pal, Sans the skeleton. You must be one of the monsters from our old home now that the barrier has been destroyed. I know changing places is a bit scary especially with all the humans around but don't be shy about taking in the GRAVITY of the situation."
Infinite just sighed at how annoying he was as he pointed a finger at the confused skeleton before a beam was released from the tip shooting straight through the now unoccupied space. Infinite looked above him to see Outer looking very unamused. He figured it wouldn't be that easy to kill him.
Infinite swung at Outer with his blade but the skeleton dodged and raised his hand towards the jackal in order to apply blue magic to his soul only for it to fail. Outer looked at his hand in confusion before ducking from Infinite's hypersonic slash.
He created a wave of bones, primarily blue ones towards Infinite who created a multitude of energy slashes in response. Outer made three gaster blasters which overpowered the slashes as Infinite deflected the beams towards the blasters destroying them.
Outer counter-attacked with a shower of yellow energy stars which Infinite destroyed with a swarm of cube lasers. Infinite enhanced his body, temporarily moving at massively hypersonic speeds and nearly cutting Outer in half who barely had enough time to teleport out of the way.
Outer created a massive wave of thousands of blue bones while also firing over a dozen gaster blasters. Infinite dodged the bones while slicing straight through the various beams. He created a large cube which fired dozens of small beams which caused Outer to rapidly teleport between them to avoid being hit.
Infinite then fired a massive beam which Outer countered with 30 blasters. As the multitude of beams neared the jackal he raised his sword unleashing a massive energy wave that demolished the entire city block.
Outer was beginning to sweat from the strain of the fight as he unleashed a shower of small meteors. Infinite cut through several before bouncing off the rest to reach the skeleton who cast a massive yellow star at Infinite.
The jackal unleashed a massive energy blade which cut the star straight in half before unleashing a large energy crescent. Outer blocked the attack with several giga-sized bones before Infinite punched straight through them much to the others' shock.
Outer summoned nearly a hundred gaster blasters all at once which fired at Infinite who made a massive pillar of energy that enveloped several small city blocks. Outer was on the ground panting as most of his energy was spent fighting off that attack.
The skeleton got up thinking the fight was over only to be stabbed straight through his soul as Infinite appeared behind him. The jackal swiped his sword to the side as the monster turned to dust.
That was harder than he thought it would be, but not as difficult as it could have been. Infinite walked away from the wrecked city before he felt a horrible chill run down his spine.
"₩Ⱨ₳₮ гРł ₮ɆⱠⱠ ɎØɄ ₳฿ØɄ₮ ⱠɆ₳Vł₦₲ ₮ⱧɆ ₥₳ł₦ Ʉ₦łVɆⱤ₴Ɇ, ₮ⱤɄɆ ₳₦Ø₥₳ⱠɎ?"
Infinite turned around and there he was, The Destroyer god.
