[TS] Starting the Broadcast

Chapter 5 - League of Legends

League of Legends is a game that took the throne after the fall of Starcraft, which was the most popular game in Korea in the early 2000s, due to a match-fixing scandal.
It’s a game where you choose one of many heroes and compete in a 5:5 format!
The match is set.
As a result of setting the lane as jungle / ADC, jungle is naturally selected.
It seems that positions like top and ADC are usually more popular than jungle, so if you set them as sub-lanes, the probability of jungle being selected tends to increase.
-Doesn’t this person turn on their cam?
-Was yesterday’s broadcast just a one-day concept? Why no salute today? Was I the only one who was sincere about the angled salute sound?
-Banning new champions is typical in Korean LoL, it’s uncomfortable that Akshan is left unbanned.
-Stop hating on Bronze-Silver-Gold!
-Sergeant Hani, the administrative officer is looking for you. You need to dodge immediately and run to the admin office.
Seeing occasional military jokes, it seems there are quite a few viewers revisiting from the first broadcast.
“If only my team luck was good, I would have been playing in Diamond tier or above long ago, but it’s really unfortunate that I’m greeting you viewers in Platinum tier.”
-Uh. No.
-Your rash statement makes my teeth grind and my fists clench.
-I agree. I would be at least Master too if it weren’t for trolls, but unfortunately, I’m just barely Gold.
-Ugh! It’s a bit nauseating for a Gold to sing about being Master.
Ignoring the viewers’ outcry, looking at the enemy team’s first pick, it’s Xerath.
A mage hero mainly taking mid or support position, focusing on long-range skill attacks.
For a moment, I’m drawn to Nocturne, but with many picks left, I wait.
Our team’s 1st and 2nd picks are Sett and Caitlyn.
Sett, who can go top, mid, or support, was a really good pick with his overpowered skill set and versatile abilities.
However, Caitlyn, the ADC with the longest range, feels a bit disappointing as a first pick.
-I’ve never seen anyone who’s good at Caitlyn ADC.
-It’s okay to play mediocrely. But I think it’s a hero that’s really hard to be truly good at. It’s also quite disappointing in the current meta where snowballing quickly is important.
-The armchair experts are out again today!
-Come on, is this the pro league? Just pick whatever you feel like.
The enemy’s 2nd and 3rd picks are Jhin and Lee Sin.
Jhin, an ADC who shows very strong performance in lane phase, and Lee Sin, a staple jungle hero that never drops below tier 2.
“This makes me hesitate between Evelynn and Nocturne. Seeing Jhin, it seems Xerath was picked as a support aiming for strong lane phase, and both are really good heroes to assassinate.”
-This is definitely Nocturne. Sergeant Hani, lights out for sleep, understand?
-But what’s with the military jokes from earlier? The broadcast title says 4th year reserve forces. Is the BJ transgender?
There aren’t many viewer opinions about the hero, so I pick Nocturne as soon as it’s my turn.
And I maintain the mystery.
“I served in the military in the 30th Division, Paju. My resident registration number starts with 2, and for surgery, I was tricked by my mother and came back after eating pork cutlet.”
-ㅋㅋㅋ Pork cutlet soaked in tears.
-You too? Me too!
-There’s a female BJ who makes pork cutlet surgery jokes?
-Just type ㄹㅇㅋㅋ (really lol).
Meanwhile, all hero picks are finished.
Since the enemy made the first pick, they’re Blue side, and we’re Red side.

Blue Team
Top – Renekton
Jungle – Lee Sin
Mid – Akshan
ADC – Jhin
Support – Xerath

Red Team
Top – Sett
Jungle – Nocturne
Mid – Anivia
ADC – Caitlyn
Support – Lulu

The top side is so-so, but the bottom lane is quite disadvantaged.
Moreover, Caitlyn is a pick with strengths in the early laning phase, but if she’s pushed back, even the meaning of the pick becomes blurred.
“It’s not good. It seems our bottom will be pushed a lot, and with Lulu as support, ganking won’t be easy either.”
-Are you ignoring Lulu, the fundamental pick of Hyejis?
-Stop hating on Lulu!
-Shocking statement! Rookie BJ Hani. She doesn’t want to gank for Hyejis who pick Lulu.
“No, when did I express hate? I just said ganking won’t be easy.”
It’s just in the early stages.
After level 6, with Nocturne’s ultimate, it’s easy to target the immobile Jhin and Xerath.
“But I’m worried if the bottom lane can hold on well until then without collapsing.”
-Oh? Enemy Xerath is Mia.
-Ugh! It’s really Mia.
-Host, did you perhaps snipe a popular BJ? Is this female vs female?
-Shock! Rookie BJ Hani declares. She’ll only target BJ Mia this game.
“Eh?”
This is completely unexpected.
BJ Mia.
She’s a BJ with a character that reminds you of a cute little sister with a small build and adorable appearance, and she’s quite famous on New Continent TV.
With a fan club just over 20,000, she’s not at the highest level, but she often conducts joint broadcasts with famous BJs in the top ten on New Continent TV and participates in various game tournaments, so she has high recognition.
“Uh, it’s true. Everyone, please don’t misunderstand. I really didn’t know that person was playing the game right now. Sniping is completely unfair, right?”
-Shocking statement! BJ Hani says she didn’t even know BJ Mia was broadcasting because she’s such a small fry.
-This is truly the match of the century. My chest feels petty.
-Mia is really a proper fundamental Hyeji. Last season, she duo queued with a Grandmaster smurf at the end to reach Platinum, and this season she’s been getting carried in duo from the start.
-Her most played 1, 2, 3 prove it. Lulu, Yuumi, Soraka.
-She’s playing Xerath now because viewers kept calling her a carried Hyeji and wouldn’t acknowledge her Platinum rank, so she got angry and said she’s switching to damage support from last week.
Maybe because there are so many viewers who have pawned their lives to personal broadcasting, information I didn’t know keeps coming to my ears.
Anyway, I give 1-minute chat bans to the malicious commenters to make them behave, and focus on the game.
“Since it’s Lee Sin, I’ll ward near the enemy blue buff to be cautious.”
After pinging top and mid for help, we move together and ward the enemy team’s blue bush.
The early game passes without any particular incidents.
After safely recalling, I receive our blue buff, clear gromp and wolves, reaching level 3.
“Lee Sin, I’ll put one point in E.”
Usually, when mindlessly full clearing for a quick level 6, you might put two points in Q at level 3 for faster jungling.
But since the enemy jungler Lee Sin is such a strong aggressive jungler and has a hobby of counter-jungling at every opportunity, I decided to put one point in E to prepare and possibly aim for an early gank if the opportunity arises.
“…!”
Sure enough, while I’m eating raptors, our mid laner pings danger.
Looking at the minimap, I see the enemy mid laner Akshan has pushed the lane and disappeared into the upper bush.
“Looks like Lee Sin is aiming for our red buff counter jungle. Since the enemy mid will join faster, I’ll cleanly give it up.”
It’s clearly a big loss in the early stage. But to avoid risking an even bigger loss, I ping danger to the top laner that Lee Sin is in our jungle, even typing in chat to warn him, and run towards the scuttle crab below.
After eating the enemy raptors too, I reach level 4.
But then I found an unexpected opportunity.
-Xerath used Flash.
-Look at that kill greed. She immediately used Flash even with low HP. But she missed.
-Just type ㄹㅇㅋㅋ (really lol).
The enemy Jhin and Xerath are pushing the lane to our tower front and are busy harassing.
Our Caitlyn and Lulu’s barely remaining energy is drawing aggro like crazy.
-This can’t be ignored.
-Two with low HP, my mouth is watering.
I immediately ping that I’m ganking towards bottom and pass through the enemy tri-bush.
Meanwhile, I see on the minimap that enemy Lee Sin has eaten my red and is lightly poking for a top gank.
Fortunately, thanks to the early warning, Sett who was playing safe successfully avoids the gank!
With the enemy team’s turn gone, now it’s our team’s chance.
Xerath’s Q skill stretches out strongly.
Lulu backs off far behind the tower with about 10 energy left, barely making it.
As if regretting that sight, Xerath uses E and W skills on the remaining Caitlyn as if venting frustration.
It was a perfect chance.
Seeing Nocturne suddenly appear from the bush, a flustered Jhin tries to escape first by sticking to the outer wall.
The target is of course Xerath who used Flash!
When Caitlyn lands her Q skill too, Xerath’s remaining energy isn’t even half.
With skill cooldowns remaining too, Xerath couldn’t put up much resistance and had to donate first blood while making clumsy movements, frozen by Nocturne’s E skill fear effect.
“Ah, sweet. So sweet. Is this the taste of pub? It’s honey to get a kill before level 6.”
-Breaking news! Rookie BJ Hani’s shocking statement. She says BJ Mia tastes like honey.
-Mia just smashed her keyboard after dying without catching Lulu. So funny.
-Jhin seems to be an active soldier. Did you see how he immediately made way when the 4th year reserve forces arrived?
Seeing Caitlyn’s ping asking for help pushing the lane, I used skills to neatly push the lane together to the enemy tower.
Thanks to sharing the experience from the many stacked minions, I barely reached level 5!
Moreover, when I recalled, quite a bit of gold had accumulated, making me consider the item build.
“Jhin and Xerath… I can’t resist this. I’m going for the assassination build.”
A mythic item with decent attack power that slows surroundings, and an item that provides strong attack power solely for assassination.
The choice here was the latter.
I bought the component items to complete the mythic item and headed towards the respawned gromp.
After clearing gromp-wolves-raptors, my experience was at the edge of level 5 and it was time for blue buff to spawn.
“I feel a bit sorry here, but… since I lost my red earlier due to the difference in mid joining, I can say I’m innocent, right?”
-This BJ’s personality is amazing!
-How can they pass this off so boldly?
I blatantly pass through mid, sharing minion experience.
As a result, I had to endure Anivia’s crazy back pings, but I appeased it with a ping saying I’ll give blue buff and take the lower route.
“Reaching level 6 before blue buff spawns is really fast. The successful gank at bottom lane earlier and pushing about 3 waves together to eat experience was a jackpot. In that sense, I’ll go for another gank as repayment.”
-It’s a devil. We’re seeing a devil right now.
-Xerath’s Flash cooldown has a little left. Hurry and crush her.
-Is this the second keyboard smash?
Jhin and Xerath were still relentlessly pushing the lane.
This can’t be tolerated.
I appeal to our bottom laners that Jhin and Xerath are within Nocturne’s ult range.
Then Lulu makes a forward movement to lure the enemies, and as soon as Xerath’s E skill misses falling for it, Nocturne charges in relentlessly.
“Darkness!”
-No way, there’s a BJ who actually says this line out loud?
-Sergeant Hani, lights out for sleep.
-Xerath tastes best when torn apart!
Xerath gets torn apart, and Jhin barely manages to escape after using heal and flash.
Lee Sin came for late backup, but by then, our bottom laners including me had already gained sufficient advantage and were recalling.
“Lee Sin isn’t doing well. When allies are pushing the lane so strongly, he should either look for a counter-gank or if he’s going to give it up completely, poke the top side once more. Coming late just wastes his pathing.”
-ㅈㄱㅊㅇ! (Jungle difference)
-If you type ㅈㄱㅊㅇ three times in all chat, I’ll shoot 100 water balloons.
-Don’t just say it, set a mission. It looks like they’ll just eat and run.
The atmosphere is good.
After recalling, when I was about to buy shoes and the remaining component items, a mission was really set.

[Miabomyeojinungae-nim has set a mission.]
[100 water balloons for each Xerath kill.]
[The maximum mission amount is set at 1000 water balloons.]

“Everyone, I’m going into tryhard mode from now on.”

-Ah, can’t resist a mission.
-Mia tastes best with a gray screen.
-Is there a BJ who said it wasn’t sniping and not to make false accusations at the start?
Although it wasn’t intentional, I was receiving a trickle-down effect because I was playing in the same game as BJ Mia.
The number of real-time viewers was gradually increasing.
Fan club registrations were so-so, but instead, a big mission was set.
An opportunity that can’t be missed!
An intense gaze is nailed into the monitor.
