UCHIHA: THE ATTACK ON KONOHA

Chapter 23: Return to Konoha

The carriage came to a halt at the entrance of the Uchiha district. Uchiha Yang stepped out, his Sharingan briefly glancing at the scene before him. The Great Elder, the Third Elder, and several senior clan members stood solemnly, supported by younger members of the clan. Yang immediately understood—they had all gathered to receive his grandfather's remains.

He and his uncle, Uchiha Nobunaga, exchanged respectful bows with the elders before the carriage slowly continued toward the family cemetery.

Upon arrival, Yang saw familiar faces—his mother, carrying a framed portrait of his grandfather, his aunt Uchiha Tao, his three former instructors from the clan's private training hall, and his close friends. His brothers-in-arms stood separately, each positioned behind a different elder, signifying the political factions within the clan.

A solemn farewell ceremony was held. The Uchiha clan elders offered gratitude to those who attended. Yang's mother remained seated in the carriage, grief-stricken, while his father stood steadfastly by her side. Yang took the reins, guiding the carriage back home.

The Next Day

The morning brought the arrival of Uchiha En and Uchiha Retsu. The three had not seen each other in years, and after informing Yang's mother of their plans, they set off toward the Hokage Monument.

At the cliffside, Retsu smirked and said, "Yang, you've been gone for so long. At first, I thought you just needed some time away, but you're finally back. Oh, by the way, Yan and I got promoted to squadron leaders. I'm in charge of three teams now, hahaha!"

Uchiha Yan scoffed. "I already made Chūnin. How about a spar? Let's see how much you've improved."

Yang shrugged. "Sure."

They exchanged the seal of confrontation, and as the battle commenced, Yan's Sharingan activated instantly. He launched a coordinated attack, creating two shadow clones.

"Fire Release: Dragon Fire Technique!"

"Wind Release: Great Breakthrough!"

"Fire Release: Fire Dragon Bullet!"

The heat surged forward, roaring toward Yang. But in that instant, Yang exhaled, closing his eyes briefly. His hand rested lightly on his katana's hilt.

"Iaijutsu—Sky Severing Slash."

"One-Sword Style—Fine Snow."

"Uchiha Swordsmanship—Flash Cut!"

In three consecutive movements, his blade effortlessly cut through the combination jutsu, dispelling both shadow clones in an instant. His sword was already sheathed, but the hilt now rested against Yan's chest.

Yan's eyes widened in shock.

Retsu, mouth agape, muttered, "This guy's even more of a monster than before…"

Yan exhaled sharply. "Is this the swordsmanship your grandfather taught you?"

Yang nodded. "He taught me more than just swordplay—he taught me what it means to be truly strong."

Just then, Yang's gaze shifted toward the trees nearby. He clasped his hands together in respect. "Whoever's watching, you can come out."

Silence.

With no response, Yang turned back to his friends. "Come with me to the Uchiha Police Force. I need to speak with my uncle."

Retsu slung an arm around Yang's shoulder as they headed toward the district headquarters.

At the Uchiha Police Force

They explained their purpose to Uchiha Crane, who nodded and allowed them to pass. Inside the captain's office, Uchiha Nobunaga stood by the window, arms crossed. Yang stepped forward and bowed.

"Uncle, I developed a new ninjutsu during my time away. I want to contribute it to the clan."

Nobunaga turned, raising an eyebrow. "Ah… The technique your father mentioned in his letters? Heliwan, was it?" He handed Yang an envelope. "Your father speaks highly of your growth. Here's your official promotion to Chūnin and squadron leader."

Then, after a moment's thought, he continued, "You can also submit the technique to the village, but don't claim it as your own. Say it was your grandfather's. The village would accept it more readily that way."

Yang smirked, taking the letter. "Thank you, Uncle. I'll go collect my new uniform. Oh, and my father left you a letter."

Nobunaga took it, reading it aloud. It was a recommendation letter from Yang's father, humorously stating that his son would surpass him soon. He even quoted their grandfather's final words, claiming Yang's talent could rival the legendary ancestors of the Uchiha. He also pressured Nobunaga to promote Yang further—perhaps even make him a deputy captain.

Yang chuckled. "I'll take this back now. See you at dinner, Uncle."

Nobunaga shook his head with a smile. "That father of yours…"

A Visit to the Hokage

After collecting his uniform, Yang looked immensely pleased with himself. His friends, however, were exasperated.

"Do you even have any shame?" Retsu sighed. "You got promoted and credited your jutsu to your grandfather just to get ahead…"

Ignoring them, Yang grinned. "Let's go see Lord Hokage."

Upon arriving at the Hokage's office, Yang presented himself with exaggerated humility. "Hokage-sama, my grandfather left behind an incredible Muji ninjutsu—Rasengan."

Hiruzen Sarutobi raised an eyebrow but listened patiently. Yang continued with a long-winded speech about duty to Konoha, family values, and the Will of Fire, impressing the elderly Hokage.

After an hour of back-and-forth, Hiruzen finally nodded. "You have a strong sense of loyalty, young man." He gestured to Anbu to bring out the Scroll of Seals, allowing Yang to add the jutsu. In return, Hiruzen awarded him an A-rank Muji ninjutsu.

As they left, Retsu muttered, "I swear, the two of them were having a political battle in real-time…"

The Art of Negotiation

Later, Yang visited his uncle once more.

"I just returned from Lord Hokage," he reported. "He said the village shouldn't take without giving back. I received a technique in return—Konoha-ryu swordsmanship."

Nobunaga's expression twitched. "I see."

Retsu and En stared at Yang, horrified.

"…You're not going to sell it again, are you?" Retsu asked.

Yang smirked. "Such valuable knowledge belongs with the clan, don't you think?"

His uncle sighed deeply but accepted the swordsmanship scroll. "Fine. In return, here's the Uchiha's secret Sharingan-based genjutsu techniques."

Yang happily took the new techniques. "Oh, by the way, could you arrange a meeting with Jiraiya and Orochimaru?"

Retsu and En gasped.

"…Are you a demon?!"

By the time Yang was done, he had acquired the Five Elements Seal from Orochimaru and the Evil Sealing Method from Jiraiya—all while maintaining a pristine reputation as a loyal and selfless clan member.

By now, word had spread through the village.

People whispered in awe and disbelief.

"That Uchiha kid? He's an absolute menace—turning techniques into currency like a trader at the market…"
