Ultimate Choice System: I Became The Richest!

Chapter 236: Regent Street Gallery

The Thompson family sat around the large dining table in the suite's open-plan living area, the morning sunlight streaming through the floor-to-ceiling windows. The view of London's skyline stretched out beyond the glass, but most of the family's attention was on the spread of food laid out before them. Room service had outdone itself—fluffy pancakes, golden pastries, fresh fruit, eggs cooked to perfection, and a variety of juices and hot drinks.

Emily was in her element, already halfway through a plate piled high with pancakes and a chocolate croissant on the side. "Mom, these pancakes are amazing! They're so fluffy, they're like clouds!" she declared, her voice muffled by a mouthful of syrupy goodness.

Caroline, sitting across from her, smiled indulgently. "Emily, slow down. You'll make yourself sick before we even leave the suite."

Emily waved her fork in the air dismissively. "Totally worth it," she said with a grin, diving back into her plate.

David sipped his coffee, chuckling softly. "She's got a one-track mind, doesn't she? Food first, everything else later."

"You'd think she hadn't eaten in days," Noah remarked dryly, cutting into his toast with precise movements.

Emily shot him a playful glare. "Hey! I'm just enjoying life, big brother. Not all of us eat like robots."

Noah raised an eyebrow but didn't reply, his focus returning to his plate.

Caroline set her teacup down and glanced at the kids. "Alright, you two. Once you're done eating, go get dressed. We're heading out for some sightseeing today—Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, maybe even the London Eye."

Emily's eyes lit up as she nearly dropped her fork. "Yes! Big Ben! I want to see the big clock! And can we go on one of those red buses? The ones with the open top? Please, Mom!"

Caroline laughed softly. "We'll see, sweetheart. Let's start with the basics first."

As Emily buzzed with excitement, Noah finished the last bite of his toast. The familiar shimmer of a holographic panel appeared in the corner of his vision, unnoticed by anyone else.

The panel vanished as quickly as it had appeared. Noah stood up, his demeanour as composed as ever.

"Alright, Mom," he said calmly. "I'll get ready."

Emily turned to him with wide eyes. "YAY! I'm so excited!"

Caroline stood up, wanting to get ready too. "Alright, finish up and get dressed, both of you. Let's make the most of the day."

The suite buzzed with activity as Emily darted between rooms, pulling out random outfits from her suitcase and holding them up for Caroline's approval. "Mom, is this okay? Or should I wear this one? Oh! What if it rains? Do I need an umbrella?"

Caroline, standing in front of a mirror while adjusting her scarf, replied patiently. "Wear something comfortable, Emily. We'll be walking a lot today."

Noah emerged from his room, already dressed in some casual but luxurious outfit.

"See? Noah doesn't even try! He just puts it on and it works perfectly on him, that's not fair!" She pouted.

"Works for me," Noah replied, grabbing his phone from the table. "And I don't have to spend half an hour deciding."

"Not fair," Emily muttered, stomping off to find her shoes.

Caroline laughed softly, looking over at Noah. "Ready?"

He nodded. "Whenever you are." Your journey continues at My Virtual Library Empire

David clapped his hands together, a grin spreading across his face. "Alright, team, let's head out!" He strode toward the door, pulling it open with the easy enthusiasm of a man ready to conquer the day.

"Daddy, wait for me!" Emily called, scrambling to catch up, her small backpack bouncing against her shoulders.

David glanced back and held the door open for her, smiling as she darted through. "Hurry up, kiddo. Big Ben's not going to wait all day."

Caroline adjusted her scarf, following with an amused shake of her head. "You'd think we were going on an expedition."

Noah trailed after them, his footsteps steady and unhurried as they stepped into the sleek lobby of the hotel.

"Good morning, Mr. and Mrs. Thompson," one of the front-of-house staff said with a warm smile, inclining his head slightly. "Out to explore the city today?"

"Yes, we are. Thank you," Caroline replied, returning the smile as they passed.

Another staff member near the door greeted them with a polite, "Have a wonderful day!" as he opened the entrance for them.

Caroline glanced around as they stepped outside into the crisp morning air, the sky a bright, cloudless blue that seemed almost too perfect. The streets of London were already alive with energy—cars hummed by, buses rumbled along, and the occasional whistle of a street performer's tune drifted through the bustle.

"The staff here are so friendly," Caroline murmured as she adjusted her bag, her gaze lingering on the smiling doorman.

"They're trained to be," Noah remarked casually, slipping his hands into his jacket pockets.

Caroline gave him a look. "That doesn't make it any less nice."

Emily skipped ahead, pointing at a red double-decker bus rumbling down the street. "Look, look! The big buses! Do you think we'll ride one, Mom?"

"Maybe later," Caroline replied, her tone indulgent. "We're walking for now. Everything's so close—your dad did an amazing job picking the hotel, it is in the heart of the city."

Indeed, the bustling center of London was only a short stroll from their hotel.

Emily darted from one storefront to another, her eyes lighting up at everything she saw. "Mom! Look at this! A whole shop for tea! Can we go in? Ooh, and that one has hats! Noah, can you wear a fancy hat?"

Noah raised an eyebrow. "Do I look like a fancy hat person to you?"

Emily grinned. "No, but it'd be funny!"

David chuckled as he gestured for Emily to stay close. "Stick with us, Em. We'll have time to browse later. First stop, Big Ben in the morning!"

Caroline sighed contentedly, her arm brushing against David's as they walked. "It's been so long since we've had a proper family outing like this."

David nodded, his gaze softening as he looked at his wife. "Yeah. It's good to see everyone together like this. Especially the kids."

Caroline followed his gaze, glancing back at Noah, who walked a step behind, his hands in his pockets.

Both she and David knew this moment wouldn't have been possible without Noah. The thought stirred something deep and overwhelming in her chest—a mix of pride, gratitude, and awe.

Noah wasn't just their son; he was the anchor that had pulled their family out of the storm. It wasn't long ago that they had been struggling, scraping by, caught in a cycle that seemed impossible to break. Back then, Caroline had buried her dreams to take care of her family.

David had endured grueling hours in a physically demanding job, his back bearing the brunt of years of hard labor.

Noah had changed all of that.

He hadn't just provided for them; he had seen them—their struggles, their sacrifices—and had quietly, steadily, set about lifting them from the ashes. He'd encouraged Caroline to nurture the passion for cooking she'd once thought frivolous, giving her the time, space and resources to explore it and become better.

Now, she cooks not just for her house but for joy, and her dishes bring life and warmth to An's gourmet.

David was slightly harder to convince, but Noah was able to help him transition to continue his love for tea in a teahouse.

And through it all, Noah had been… Noah. Steady. Caring. Respectful. He was thoughtful in a way that didn't ask for praise, a way that simply was.

To them, he was the perfect son.

Caroline reached for David's hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. She didn't say anything, but the look they shared spoke volumes—mutual gratitude for the boy who had become their pillar.

Ahead, Emily's voice rang out, breaking the quiet moment. "Come on, you two! Big Ben's waiting!"

Caroline smiled, shaking her head fondly. "Let's catch up," she said, her voice soft.

David nodded, casting one last glance at Noah before they walked on. "Yeah," he murmured. "We're lucky, aren't we?"

"More than lucky," Caroline replied, her voice almost a whisper. "We are blessed."

Caroline glanced at Noah, her heart swelling with quiet affection. Without a word, she reached over and grabbed his hand, her fingers interlocking with his in a gentle but firm grip. She then slid her other hand into David's, pulling the three of them into a small chain, with her in the middle, connected to both her son and her husband.

The warmth of the gesture felt grounding, as though in that small, simple act, she was keeping her family tethered together amidst the hum of the busy London street.

Noah raised an eyebrow and smiled. His hand remained in hers, his expression softened by the smile at the corner of his lips.

David chuckled, giving Caroline's hand a small squeeze. "What's this now? Are we forming a human chain?"

Caroline smiled, her tone light. "Maybe I just wanted to hold onto my two favorite men."

Before Noah could respond, a loud, dramatic exclamation broke through the moment.

"ME TOO!"

All three of them looked up to see Emily spinning around to face them, her hands planted firmly on her hips, her backpack bouncing with the motion. "That's not fair! You can't leave me out!"

Caroline laughed, her eyes crinkling with amusement. "Well, come here then, sweetheart."

Emily didn't need to be told twice. She darted back toward them, her steps quick and her grin wide.
