Chapter 352: The Forgery
Chapter Three Hundred and Fifty-Two
"Hey, Sister Song." Long Xiaoshan greeted.
Song Yi's face darkened as soon as she saw Long Xiaoshan, her backside aching faintly.
Although the injury had long healed.
But being hit like that was something Song Yi had never experienced in her life, and it was unforgettable, to the point where she often dreamt of that embarrassing scene when tossing and turning at night.
So now, seeing Long Xiaoshan, she nearly turned and left on the spot.
However, the employees said Long Xiaoshan had smashed a piece of Song porcelain worth over a million yuan. She looked down and indeed saw fragments of porcelain on the ground, and Song Yi frowned, "What are you doing smashing my porcelain?"
"Ah, isn't it just too hard to see you, Sister Song? I didn't make an appointment, so I had to resort to this," Long Xiaoshan sighed.
Song Yi, with an iron-blue complexion, retorted, "Just because you want to see me, you smashed my porcelain worth over a million yuan? If I didn't come out, what were you planning next, to set fire to my house?"
Song Yi could not convey just how angry she was.
This was simply lunacy. There were many ways to see her, yet Long Xiaoshan chose the most foolish one.
"Song Yi, don't be mad, I'll compensate you for the porcelain," Bai Susu quickly said.
Seeing Bai Susu made Song Yi even angrier. They already had a lousy relationship, and grievances remained. Song Yi was merely angry when Bai Susu said nothing, but once Bai Susu spoke, her anger flared noticeably.
"Fine, then pay up now. Aren't you wealthy? Pay three times the amount, or I'll definitely have the police arrest you for intentional destruction," Song Yi exclaimed loudly.
Bai Susu was left speechless, as she did have some money, but coming up with several million on the spot was not feasible for her.
"Auntie Su, let me pay," Long Xiaoshan said, rubbing his hands and moving towards Song Yi with a sly grin and a suggestive look at her backside.
Song Yi, seeing his malicious intent as he rubbed his palms together, shuddered and took two steps back, revealing a hint of panic, "What, what are you trying to do?"
The employees of Song's Antique Jade Shop looked at each other, bewildered. They had never seen their domineering boss show such fear before. The young man didn't look ferocious, in the best case was just robust, so how did he manage to elicit such a rabbit-like expression from Song Yi?
"I'm not doing anything, Sister Song, didn't you ask me to pay? Here, I'll pay you," Long Xiaoshan said, rubbing his hands and pulling out his wallet, digging out a thousand yuan and commenting, "Three times the amount should suffice, no need for change."
"Are you out of your mind?" Seeing the few banknotes, Song Yi felt several veins popping on her forehead and said, "Do you think you broke a bowl? That's official kiln Song porcelain, an antique, valued at over a million."
"It's just a forgery, Sister Song. We're all so familiar with each other; you wouldn't swindle me, would you?" Long Xiaoshan, with a disdainful smirk, declared.
"Forgery," Song Yi's eyebrows furrowed deeply as she shouted furiously, "Long Xiaoshan, we may know each other but don't talk nonsense. Song's Antique Jade Shop has been established for over thirty years, and we never sell fakes. That's known across all of Hechuan City. If you dare tarnish the reputation of Song's Antique Jade Shop, I won't let this go."
"Director Song, we should hurry and call the police," an old man around fifty with a goat beard and round glasses urgently stood up and remonstrated.
Long Xiaoshan strode over to the broken pieces of porcelain, picked up a shard of the base, approached Song Yi and rubbed it in his hand, saying, "I might not understand antiques, but I can see the porcelain powder here is clearly from the past century, definitely not a product of the Song Dynasty."
Song Yi took it and looked closely.
Gradually, her expression changed.
She had been dealing with antiques since she was young, naturally, she was an expert.
Even she initially couldn't find any faults with this Song porcelain, but now that it was shattered and the inside of the porcelain was exposed, she noticed some discrepancies. If it really were a forgery and sold, then discovered by the buyer, the reputation of Song's Antique Jade Shop would be in ruins.
This was not a matter she could take lightly; she hastily called out, "Master Qiu, Master Yang, come and authenticate this."
Two elderly men clad in long traditional gowns approached—one a round-faced elder, and the other was the very goat-bearded elder from before.
After examining for a while,
the round-faced elder said, "Director Song, this piece of porcelain could likely be a Republic-era piece made to look old; it was originally made to imitate the Song official kilns, so it's difficult to tell after it's been aged."
The goat-bearded elder spoke up, "I think this youngster deliberately switched it, that's also a possibility."
"Sister Song, it's not just this one piece; all seven antiques here are forgeries," Long Xiaoshan said, ignoring the goat-bearded elder's accusation and pointing at the showcase.
"Are you certain?" Song Yi's expression changed.
The nearby round-framed glasses elder showed a hint of panic in his eyes and said, "Impossible, Director Song, don't let this young man deceive you."
"Why so nervous?" Long Xiaoshan asked with a smirk, watching him, "Whether they are forgeries can be easily checked. Or are you feeling guilty?"
"You—you're spouting nonsense!" the goat-bearded elder shouted loudly.
Song Yi furrowed her brows, her gaze sweeping over the face of the goat-bearded elder, and said, "Bring them out."
So, the seven antiques were taken out from the showcase.
Song Yi examined the seven antiques; even she could not discern which were fake just by looking at them, and neither could the round-faced elder, who had also looked them over. Goat Beard raised his voice, "Director Song, the kid is just putting on an act. These are definitely not fakes. Be careful, Director Song..."
Bang!
Before his words could finish, Long Xiaoshan smashed another pottery jar.
Goat Beard shouted at the security guards, "What are you all looking at? Catch this kid already!"
"Don't be hasty." Long Xiaoshan dodged the security guards' hands, picked up a shard of the pottery jar, and handed it to Song Yi, "Take a look at the material inside."
Song Yi's expression grew stern.
Bang! Bang!
Long Xiaoshan went on to smash all seven pieces of porcelain like breaking bowls, alarming everyone around; after all, these antiques were priced at hundreds of thousands or even millions.
The complexion of the goat-bearded elder grew worse, and he began to involuntarily retreat.
Long Xiaoshan pushed through the crowd and grabbed him, saying, "Where do you think you're going?"
"I—I'm just going to the bathroom, is that not allowed?" the goat-bearded elder retorted with feigned bravery.
"Don't rush to the bathroom yet. Don't you have some explaining to do?"
"What's there to explain?"
Song Yi looked up, her eyes emitting a chilly light, "Master Yang, I remember that these antiques were recently acquired by you, right?" Your next read is at empire
"Director Song, I really had no idea, I must have been mistaken. These antiques are too deceivingly counterfeit," Master Yang said, his eyes flickering uncertainly.
"If you don't want to tell the truth, I'll help you." Long Xiaoshan pulled out the Golden Needle and swiftly inserted it into his forehead.
Master Yang's eyes immediately became vacant.
"Speak, were these forgeries brought in by you?"
Master Yang responded mechanically, "Yes, Chairman Feng from Seajade Pavilion gave me three million to assist with this task, then he would arrange for someone to buy the forgeries, expose them, and blackmail Director Song."
