Chapter Five Hundred Ninety-Six

Faced with Serpent Enchantress Mei Niang's questioning, Long Xiaoshan showed not the slightest hint of embarrassment on his face.

Snatching away a woman's veil wasn't new to him.

Last time, he tore off Lan Wan'er's veil, and she claimed that only her man was allowed to do so. Now here was another similar encounter. It seemed these demon fairy-like women all had a thing for this act.

But he didn't care; what was done was done.

Long Xiaoshan admitted he was indeed quite fickle-hearted.

Despite being surrounded by beauties, he was never satisfied.

But who could blame him? It was a man's nature, after all.

Serpent Enchantress Mei Niang felt unbearably shy under Long Xiaoshan's burning gaze.

She spoke petulantly with a rushed tone, "Stop looking, will you? Let me go, you're not my man, so why are you looking at me like that?"

Long Xiaoshan forcefully curbed his impulses, released her, and said, "You're right, I was impudent."

Although Long Xiaoshan was intensely tempted, he wasn't about to hop from one woman to the next like a stallion. Plus, he certainly couldn't stay long in the Serpent Witch Sect or Myanmar, and even though his eyes wanted more, he had to let go.

Long Xiaoshan's hands withdrew quickly.

Serpent Enchantress Mei Niang didn't expect Long Xiaoshan to just let her go upon saying it. She thought for sure she had seduced him; his eyes seemed ready to devour her just moments ago, yet surprisingly he released her.

This urgency hit Serpent Enchantress Mei Niang.

Her purpose here was to seduce Long Xiaoshan. If she couldn't hook him, her plan would fail. She wasn't here for Gedanwei; she had a more important plan to execute.

Gedanwei had been watching the whole time.

Things were going smoothly; he saw how his sister had almost seduced Long Xiaoshan completely. But his sister's snake dance would tempt any man, hell, even he felt overwhelming urges, so how could Long Xiaoshan resist?

Who would have thought that just a word about yielding to desire would prompt Long Xiaoshan to let go?

Anxiety filled Gedanwei.

Long Xiaoshan was playing the game all wrong. He hurriedly stepped forward and said, "Master's master, she is my sister, the one I told you about in Death God Valley, and she is the Serpent Witch Sect Saintess."

"She's your sister?"

Long Xiaoshan was slightly taken aback. Gedanwei had indeed mentioned a sister, the Serpent Witch Sect Saintess, back in Death God Valley. Given Gedanwei's bizarre appearance, triangular head and snake-scaled skin, Long Xiaoshan expected his sister would be somewhat similar. To his surprise, the disparity was grand.

"Yes, she's my real sister. Sister, come and greet Master Long," Gedanwei said, turning his head to shoot Serpent Enchantress Mei Niang a rapid series of eye signals.

Serpent Enchantress Mei Niang couldn't express how aggrieved she felt. She was the illustrious Serpent Witch Sect Saintess, a consort of the Snake God. How could she possibly serve as a mere handmaiden to an ordinary man?

But then she thought of the plan.

She bit her lip and moved forward gracefully a few steps, bowing and saying, "Master Long."

Long Xiaoshan found the situation amusing. Here he was in Southeast Asia, seemingly collecting Saintesses. First, there was Hua Die, the Saintess of the Bai Witch Sect who acknowledged him as her master, and now another Serpent Witch Sect Saintess was offering herself up. Could it be he possessed the legendary Saintess Attracting Body?

But there were too many Saintesses, and each was throwing herself at him.

He waved his hand dismissively, "Alright, I know what your brother means. He's obviously using you to curry favor with me. You must be unwilling, so don't force yourself for my sake. I won't demand it either, don't worry. As for your brother, although he has offended me, as long as he behaves from now on, I won't kill him."

Serpent Enchantress Mei Niang saw Long Xiaoshan's refusal to take her in, and although she should have been happy, joy eluded her.

Could she be so unworthy that even laying herself at his feet wasn't enough?

She questioned whether her charm had failed.

Gedanwei was even more desperate. It wasn't a matter of whether Long Xiaoshan wanted to kill him anymore. Even if Long Xiaoshan spared him, his days ahead would be difficult. He was not content to merely scrape by.

Even without his former Young Master glory, he didn't want to fall into destitution. If his sister were taken in by Long Xiaoshan, he would be seen as Long Xiaoshan's brother-in-law, and who would dare oppose him within the sect?

So he quickly said, "Master's master, no, my sister is truly willing. It's not coercion on my part. Besides, only an outstanding man like you, master's master, is worthy of my sister. Sister, isn't that right?"

Golden gleams shimmered in Serpent Enchantress Mei Niang's eyes, "Yes, Master Long, it's all my choice, not my brother's coercion. I know my father died in Death God Valley at the hands of a vile creature, and you, Master Long, were the one who vanquished that creature, avenging my father. I willingly serve Master Long, and I hope you won't spurn me."

Long Xiaoshan watched every seductive gesture of hers; she truly was a natural beauty. However, he was planning to return to Hua Country. He couldn't possibly take Serpent Enchantress Mei Niang with him.

"Fine, you don't want to serve me as a handmaiden?" Lan Wan'er's voice came from behind. She walked over, grinning slyly, her eyes fixed on Serpent Enchantress Mei Niang like a crafty fox, "But remember, you'll be third in rank. I was first; you'll have to call me big sister, got it?"
